If this is Moderate Rock then what heavy metal is like?!
SherlockFan kurt says that at the start of the song in the studio versiom
They should've performed this at the Unplugged Show
+jason rengifo
Imagine,
all the parents that would wake up to hearing Kurt Cobain...
*In the middle of the night...*
*_screaming._*
I actually was thinking the same thing before I clicked on this video
Kurt said early on that show he wasn't gonna scream and play some chill music.
+Rakhdan That's not true since he played Scentless Apprentice, Milk It, D-7, and Tourette's at the unplugged show
+Jason Rengifo Just check it from 1 hour youtube version. i mean one with the acoustic guitars and stuff. girls asks them to play rape me and he responds.
Why does Krist always look like he's trying to balance on a boat
or surf XD
He lets the waves and vibes of the music carry him hahaha jk xD
sometimes he moves like an inflatable tube man..
You made laugh so hard that i nearly drown in my own saliva!
oh my god best description ever
This is better than the studio version
i completely agree
Definitely!
nah
It don’t have the moderate rock tho

Dave is UNMATCHED on the drums. He’s a beast
😊😊😊😊
Dale Crover has entered chat
Dave is a good drummer, but he's nothing special lol
@@sicantikbellakanagawa3229I feel like the performance of tourette's from the Roseland Ballroom is better
@@xbenci I agree, he's one of the most overrated drummers ever. He's neither creative nor exceptionally skilled so to call him one of the greatest is absurd, although he does have a ton of energy which is perfect for Nirvana. Also, he took many of the drum parts on Nevermind from Chad Channing (In Bloom) and he even said to Pharrell Williams that he's a basic drummer and that he stole so many parts from The Gap Band, Cameo, and Tony Thompson.
Its clear there are no lyrics. He's the only person that can just scream shit on stage and it still be good
Smh
He said he screams and occasionally says fuck shit and piss in this song
Adam Bradley ikr, bad ass
may day every day my day
He says mean horse actually listen closely.
1 electric guitar, 1 bass and the drums! Still we got the most original punk rock ever
This is my fave nirvana song at the moment

Nirvana is so crazy. They’re not metal or punk or grunge. They on some other shit. Original af
No they are grunge
Bro this is grunge
@@truthspeaker8243 you all labeling music which many artist didnt want to.
@@truthspeaker8243 Yes, that is the label given to it. But Nirvana sounds nothing like the other grunge bands.
@Cult_7191 It's only grunge when it comes out of Seattle. the grunge movement was just a massive renaissance of Seattle bands jamming about the shitty times. personally I hear a resemblance between AIC and Nirvana more than I do with pearl jam or sound garden
"In Utero" was definitely their best Album
No
Dude, brutal the mix is insane, back in the day when punk was mainstream
I would give all my goods, ALL to go back in time and see this concert
I had tickets but my girlfriend left a bag of weed in my moms car and she Wouldn't let me go.I still bitch at my mom for that.
Mike Bryant OH MY GOD
Was gonna run away w a group that was going to a Nirvana concert. The assholes left without me. How's that 4 luck
Mike Bryant you must have revenge
me too. i have only loans :)
My favorite Tourrete's performance ever.
No, they played it four times, this being the first. Then 09/10/92 - Portland Meadows (No on 9 Benefit), Portland, OR, after that 09/11/92 - Seattle Center Coliseum (Washington Music Industry Coalition Benefit), Seattle, WA, and finally 07/23/93 - Roseland Ballroom (New Music Seminar), New York, NY, which is funny because the last performance is before In Utero was even out.
@@CMOYounghe said it’s his favorite performance not this is the only performance
"This little number is to get our frustration out. If that doesn't work then we'll trash the stage..."

Kurt Cobain sounds better than most musicians just screaming no words. He could make anything great without trying. A true qenius
I think the lyrics in this live version are different from the studio, but the studio versions lyrics are simple but still profound. Kurt may have acted like his lyrics weren't shit, but they had substance on a deep level. I doubt he wasn't aware. Probably just played it down like the greats often do.
@@questohandleinusoexactly it's all about the melody
qenius
The song does has lyrics but there hard to make out and it’s possible he changed them during live shows like he did with other songs
Crazy how such a simple song can be so damn effective!
I prefer this version instead of the album version
Definitely
Same
Most of in utero songs are really better at live concerts. Whar about scentless apr... at live and loud.?
I think they tried not to do a commercial album.
This is far better

Down town such a fast, in my eyes
Won't ever let you down, flown home
Granted to your sense of sound, my eyes
You and me, it contains my heart
Hey!
Hey!
Hey!
Go dark, soundcheck, my eyes!
Everything Teddy sees is all wrong!
Burnin' down half the town and my house
Everything sits inside my heart
Hey!
Hey!
Hey!
Jonestown such a frown, see yours
Riddle meal left the town, or go home
Rarin' down such a day for me, uh
Hitch a train to Santa Fe or go horse!
Hey!
Hey!

Mean horse!
Mean horse!

Thank you I was looking to see these alternative lyrics
Finally someone with the right lyrics!
Those aren’t the lyrics. Cobain wrote Tourettes as a song with no lyrics, only vocalization.
I find it so interesting every time he performs this song live it’s completely different lyrics, very cool!
@@evans1946 He changed it every time, but I do think there are (some) actual words in there
Everytime i drive in my car and this song comes on i scream the shit out of me. This is what i call freedom.
Love you kurt!

This is the best performance of this song I’ve ever seen. It’s better than the album version.
Agreed
this sounds so much better than the studio version
strong catto i just was waiting for someone to say that
how did he not immediately smash his guitar
I'm a life-long musician, and this is the most powerful performance I've seen in my life. This shit turns me into an animal.
Kurt brought reality.
He only smashed his guitars as an excuse to get off stage, early on he would have to repair them by hand himself, cuz they were to poor to afford new guitars.
@@MrParkerman6 i dont blame him if he had to fucking shred his vocal cords to sing stuff like this
This song should be blasted during every PE lesson
Great song 😅 im listen this song in 2023 come on people
Yes
❤
Never known the lyrics to this all out audio assault but amusingly in the liner notes of In Utero they are written as "cufk, tish, sips" which are anagrams for fuck, shit, piss :) nice one Kurt still making me smile after all these years no one else would have ever done that. Thinking man's rock legend! One of a kind.
MODERATE ROCK
Such deep lyrics... DA Sa DADADA BAaAaA/sAAAASSaHHHhHhHhH GREEn ASS
I love the fact that this song has no actual lyrics, so you can shout whatever you want to and you'll still sound great anyway.
This is my favorite nirvana live performance of all time
I fucking love that Strat sound mixed with that DS-2 and the Marshalls.
Like a f*ing chainsaw. Bad ass as hell.
I haven't notice that he uses a single coil strat in this. It sounds so fucking raw, love it
The screaming part at 01:26 blows my mind every time
Can't believe Kurt Cobain's voice is real, how the hell does someone sound so hella raw
This song made me a Nirvana fan.
The Eagle Has Landed

it was kurt who said the eagle has landed

Great in live. Great punk song. KC was simply a genius
This song, when you're driving, you plant your foot to the floor til song is over.
one of the greatest Nirvana's songs
Love Krists outfit here, that hair too, it's great
Most powerful band of all time. The raw power is mind-boggling.Unrepeatable.
Why can't there be any punk bands like this. This band is why I am obsessed with rock , Heavy Metal , Grunge & Punk rock. - 8 year old Milo
It's my birthday and this is the only thing that can make me happy: nirvana, kurts legendary screaming and guitar playing, dave the machine on drums, and krists unearthly bass
I dont really care to much about lyrics, i love the rawness.
Dude this song gets me pumped and urges me to start breaking shit. If I ever wanna think rebellious thoughts, I just turn this song up to 11. It was their style and their ability to connect with the audience that made them so great. Maybe that's why when Kurt died people took it so harshly. Nirvana is definitely a band that will be in the books forever.
And thirteen years later, my feelings exactly.
My favorite concert of all time for the rest of time!
Don't smoke.
That VOICE
Nirvana at its most punk. Brilliant
this song is eargasmic in so many ways
And people say Nirvana wasn't metal. This song as some blatant punk influence but it is heavy as fuck
This song is grungy as shit
Famfly Nirvana was classified as "grunge" by the media, along with the other popular seattle bands that came out at that time with a similar sound such as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. But what is Grunge? Such a stupid term. When I listen to these bands I hear heavy riffs, solo's and blaring vocals. This is metal, with punk influence.
Eric Booth I didn't say it has no punk influence,In Utero was classified as grunge/punk/alternative rock anyway, but the grunge edge is very clear. You can hear the distorted riffs and a heavy contrast in the sound.
Famfly Yeah but that is my point, when I listen to in Utero I don't hear "alternative rock" I hear metal, with punk influence. I still believe the term "grunge" is stupid, because it was only labeled towards the first wave of bands to come from seattle, whereas bands like the Foo fighters or Creed were credited as "post grunge". Just call it hard rock or metal? That's literally what it is in my opinion.
I am not saying you are wrong, but genre of music is simply not whether or not it sounds "heavy". You have to take into account playing style and overall sound of the individual instruments. I do not characterize this as metal, but who cares! It doesn't matter what we think it is, as long as we all enjoy it (:
this is a very relaxing song
They’re the best. It’s not a debate.
100% Punk. Love it.
My Favorite drug nirvana
And if you save your soul you will make him happy

Dave Grohl was Nirvana's "secret" ingredient.
One of my favourite Nirvana tracks from my favourite Nirvana album. Such power and emotion. And Kurt's guitar playing and singing live! Incredible.
damn these lyrics are so deep. If only i could make out what they are
The greatest come back ever!
You can tell theyre enjoying playing that!!!
I cannot believe how good that was.

Kurt and Nirvana truly were one offs.
I Love This Song
Wow, the energy, the voice, the guitar... Kurt was awesome, one of a kind, Dave&Krist rocked too
Great song and an awesome live performance!

What is moderate rock???
Kurt: yes
This is the best thing I've ever heard Nirvana do.
The amount of energy that comes out during this performance is fuckin awesome! Kurt's rage fuels this into fire!
ive slept to this way too many times
This has all the elements transcendent music should have: emotion, power, personality. This is why Nirvana was a transcendent band, and I think that since them, there hasn´t been a band that has reached that level.
gp8 Uhhh what the hell? This is a fucked up piece of shit punk metal scream your lungs out for the hell of it song. And that's why we love it!

Hearin' me I attack
my arm
Hey, hey, heeeey

Never free, cannot see

stay off

wore off

One more, half are dead, phone home
Random teeth and sit to sat, of my eyes
