Been a professional Sprayer for 30 years. Looks to Me like You should tilt the part/tank toward You, start at one end going up, over and down 'til You reach the other end rather than starting in the centre working down one side then starting in the centre again and working down the other side. This will eliminate a Lap Marks especially in the Candy Coats which are susceptible to dark spot/lines wherever You have a Lap Mark which is actually an extra Coat. Each successive Coat of Candy or type of Coloured/ Tinted Transparent will be darker wherever You have a Lap (double coat) Mark.

ohh I use to work at a custom paint shop down the street from these guys. Id go down and buy those dummy tanks and just nose around, Really great guys super helpfull. this was over 10 years ago. To be honest im shocked there still there but hey that shows you good customer service goes along ways.

Where 99% of Americans will be spraying. Most don't have access to a spray booth, Rattle Bombs are just as happy in a booth as they are in backyard application.

what are the flash times between the coats? with like 10-15 coats with all the cans.. is it like 5-10 min between coats? And when you are done 24-72 hours til the paint has hardent?

Did you had problems with the base coat flaking or distorting with the 2k? Many say they are incompatible but Id prefer hearing from someone that has done it
Do you have to use SEM high build primer or can you use just any other quality brand primer ?
Question, Once you push the hardener button on the clear is all the clear in the can Hardened? Can you save some for another project?

sweet products & demo... building a tricked out cb750 w GSXR parts galore...hmm? got any suggestions on the rear swing arm? its a 2007 gsxr 750 and getting mated w a r17/55/180 ..want it to def. pop in the sun thinking retro Honda colors but w a deep copper/ rose gold on to show depth in the sun.

I used the all in one rattle bomb (rajun red) recently on a guitar that i refinished. I clear coated it with the 2k max. The color and finish is gorgeous, but whats the best method for getting rid of the orange peel?
Wetsand with P600 and reclear, or wetsand with P800,P1000 then buff.
I know tou said to wet sand after priming, but did you wet sand between any of the other coats?

Hey mans I gotta ask! How good dose this stand up against scratching and ext. Most "spray paints" are trash and don't hold up that well, my bike leaked gas and stripped the paint and primer right off
You need a clear coat over the paint job. I've used Spraymax 2K clear coat that they show in this video on all of my bikes. Plenty of gas spilled, never had it affect the paint jobs.

Is it just me, or did that once sparkling flake undercoat practically vanish after the red candy was applied over it? I thought metal flake was supposed to easily be seen through a candy top coat? Might have helped if the finished product was shown in bright light.
Hey Tom. We shot this years ago on a camera that really doesn't render red colors too well, thus a lot of detail can get lost. The Flake does indeed show up quite well under kandy! Ive finished a few guitars with this paint. The all in one rattle bombs are amazing. Theyre completely different shades depending on whether you use a white or black basecoat. The sun burst effect i did looks amazing!

The Silver Flake jams up the second you spray it. 4 cans, shook for 3 to 5 minutes, NONE of them worked. Its too bad. I want to like the stuff.

one thing I thought you weren't supposed to put candy over flake it's candy 1st and flake second then clear just saying :-)
Generally the trend in just about any paint job is Flake, then Kandy. Most painters want to make the flake more vivid by adding kandy on top of it. Also many painters who are going for a multi-color look prefer to use a Silver Base + Silver Flake and then tape off and apply multiple kandies. This is in contrast to the more labor intensive task of applying several different bases and flakes.
However there are some good reasons to apply the flake on top of kandy as well but generally it is Flake First then Kandy.

mr roth.i had the biggest let down of my life. since i started airbrushing t-shirts and evolved to lowrider semi fame. i always payed hoge to your father and von dutch. i do not have the typical mexican tattoos . i have rat fink, eyeball, and kustum kulture. i always saw everyone i admired do rat fink cartoons and sell them and what have you. i paid money for my tattoos.i made a few items and sold them on ebay and i got a letter from mrs, ilene roth, i believe that was her name. she told me to stop my crap etc.so my question is does everyone ask for permision or how do you go about that?; i would like to buy your products and things like that but honestly , i even regret admiring and going as far as tattooing myself with the things i did.i do not like to be asked about them either. can you give me at least an opinion?; it was a nice portrait of big daddy as i excell in photorealism and it was only one...thanks

Personally I'm dividing my quarantine time between exposing the agendas behind the COVID19 conspiracy (I'm a blogger/researcher) and applying "Straight Eight Purpin'" Roth rattlebomb on my mini-chopper project.
Here's a trick that works: Apply your flake and candy over a colored base instead of black or white for some cool effects. I applied my all-in-one rattlebomb over a base of blue and green fades, then layering the flake/candy in a light-to-heavy gradual fade over it. The effect is almost like a color-shift as the base colors show through under differing lighting. Groovy!
