    Broke this one into parts. Here are my reasons:
    1) better views/retainment
    2) WAAAAY easier to upload and edit
    3) the final part will be a standalone how-to for polyurethane.
    If all goes well, I'll have all four parts out before next weekend. Hope you enjoy.

    So much pocket the last few days. I'm not complaining, not at all, i'm enjoying it. Just fearing the withdrawal symptoms when theres nothing new to watch.

    The only guy on the internet that can get me to watch a 10 min video on silverware drawer organizers.

    I always love seeing your thought process at work. One thing I discovered is that knife blades tended to work their way under the partitions until I added a base.

      What are you doing in my spam box again, Steve?!
      I was thinking about that. Might put a tiny screw from underneath for that reason. The 'floor' has a bit of a sag. You know, particle board.

    This is fantastic, I look forward to the rest of the parts! In one of those UA-camr parallel thinking situations, I'm also halfway through a utensil holder build. I'm not copycatting, I promise, but I will take whatever hints you provide with finishing options when that part of the video drops.

    Haha love the ending! Its a nice project, Ive been plotting to do something like this (we really need it) but never knew how or where exactly to start, so your video(s) will be my long-longed help. Thanks!

      That's great to hear. This is one of those things that you only have to do once, and then you get to stop years of annoyance.
      Wanted to do it at my last house, but I knew we would be moving.

    I was wondering why you don’t post these kind of build explanation videos on your main channel? Thanks for the videos, brother!

    im sorry to be one of those pesky "know it all"'s. but i currently work in a custom cabinet shop In Norway. We often produce Kitchens and make our drawer dividers in oak. we do it the same way you do and brad nail...through oak! and never had a problem (referring to 3:25) Great Video Pocket! :D

      I believe you. This series is kind of aiming at beginners. Oak can be a bit tougher.

    I took apart my xbox one controller and switch (hori pad) controller because they both have/had joystick issues. Cleaned them deox-it and then some rubbing alcohol. They are...better... not perfect, but I dont want to deal with pulling them apart again attempt to make them better. I sinned by putting them all back together without first testing them.
    Anyways, that was more of a rant, so I will just follow it up with general video game/collections question since that is currently my "thing"
    Do you game on pc at all? More vintage than current consoles? Favorite modern console(s) and why? What are some games with mechanics that are really cool/enjoyable that you dont really see anymore?

    • @pocket83squared
      @pocket83squared  4 роки тому

      Stopped PC at around _Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 era._ Did some _UNREAL_ for a bit. And man, do I love _Dune II._ You can still get it now for Android, and it works wonderfully with a touch interface.
      ...
      Back to consoles: as far as I go is seventh generation. Too much supplemental "add on" content now, too many ads & suggestive selling, and too much annoying patches/updates for my impatient taste. I'm still considering getting an XBONE since the price is about right now; a few games I'm dying to play, like GTAV, _Red Dead 2,_ and _Far Cry Primal._

    My cutlery compartments are way too wide so the stacks collapse into a messy pile. Not an actual problem but it drives me crazy 😅😅

      That's exactly the point; they're two closely related actions, so the brain's wires get crossed. Easier for a brain to just make a new set of rules.
      Ever had to fix something that somebody else has already tried to fix? Sometimes it's just easier to build a new one.

    • @ArkanoidZero

      @@pocket83squared Oh, I missed your point, sorry. Although, I'm not sure a fully agree. In general I would say that learning something new based off previous work is much easier than an entirely new skill.
      I have had the experience where something feels harder because of existing set patterns, but I'm not sure that holds up if you were to actually time skill acquisition.
      I think that instead we forget how long it takes to learn things, and the frustration is from your mind lying to itself about its true skill level and speed at learning.
      So that is to say, I would think that using your left hand wouldn't actually make it easier or faster, but rather you delude yourself with excuses about how you are actually making it harder and therefore you have more drive because you beat yourself up less.

    • @pocket83squared
      @pocket83squared  5 років тому

      Depends on the complexity of the target skill. Learning how to hold and squeeze two sticks is not the same thing as learning a new paradigm for grammar and syntax, for example. But your point stands; we have to do whatever we can to fool our stubborn brains into accepting that our preconceptions about the world are mostly erroneous, because we think that we already know everything. In fact, I can feel the creeping bias of rationalization even now as I type this, as it is constantly attempting to convince me that my worldview is consistent, and that even if you _are_ entirely correct, so am I, and thus, you are mistaken. No matter: my point was made from the angle of a pragmatic, so if it makes it so that it works, do it!
      haha. Thanks for a thoughtful response ;)
      After another moment of reflection, I think the actual case is somewhere in between. That is, most all of learning is through association- of course, the innate notwithstanding.
