5:05 - That's Swift Creek; the blue rope swing is a giveaway. Unfortunately it's not spring fed, the creek actually headwaters at the spoil lands of a massive phosphate plant up the way. If you paddle all the way to the Suwannee State Park past the Music Park, there are a couple really small spring leaches along the banks, but they're easy to miss and not worth writing home about. The Holt river camp is also just as good Woods Ferry in terms of glamping. Suwannee is a great paddle for just relaxing and having a big party, because it's so wide and obstruction free. If you want rural springs, you'll have to paddle the Chipola and Econfina. Look forward to more videos!
The "Holt river camp" is actually called Holton Creek River camp. One of the nicest river camps is Peacock Slough. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend checking it out.
The spring with the wall is Suwannee Springs. I'm from that area originally and still have land there on the river. You paddled right past my place. The Florida Trail runs along the river with lots of places to camp, You just can't see them from a kayak .
A friend and I did that same trip in July of 2017. But we did about three miles on Friday afternoon, and camped on a beach. Saturday night we camped at Woods Ferry. Definitely need to do that trip again.
I've been Kayaking several times and always wanted to get into it a bit more but never did. Looking forward to your future videos and hope you get into the difference between Kayaking and canoeing, techniques things to look out for and avoid.
Subscribed to your bike channel about 3 months ago love it started 6 weeks ago because of watching your videos can't believe how much I love biking at 64 it had changed my life weight falling off like crazy I feel so good I feel like I've been supercharged been crippled since 2012 when a woman in a mini van hit me head-on on my St 1300 47 broken Bones 3 months l could walk again went and bought a new HD Fatboy 2 weeks after that I went and bought a new 1.6 Kayak sailor brand sail and put on my ride 135 kayak and I've gotta tell ya it's as much fun as biking used it on the rivers it's alright but go to Stockton Lake in Stockton Mo it's the most fun I ever had the more wind the more fun 35 mph wind with 50 mph gusts was my best but almost didn't make it out thought I would die that day game warden said I had a death wish but 10 mph wind days are fun and relaxing you gotta try it
Looked like a great trip! How's the weather been over there? We've had an unseasonably dry April in the Western FL panhandle this month, so many of our rivers are low and pretty clear. Great paddling right now.
I've been planning on doing the Suwannee myself and enjoy watching how others handle it. Good video! What was the water level? Low enough for beaches I see.
Man, haven't done something like that since I was a kid. Looks like a great experience. Didn't look like there was alot of bugs. My last memory of paddling here in NJ was is of being eaten alive by green flies.
You said you went around the end of April. That's near the beginning of alligator mating season. Any encounters or concerns? Didn't seem to be an issue from the vid. Planning to take kids soon, so thought I'd ask. Used to the Santa Fe River which we have very few spottings on. Thanks!
They were still taking reservations at the time this video was taken. If the Sleeping Platforms were reserved and he took one, he would only be asked to leave when the people who reserved it showed up. They would notify a camp host and the host would call the office and a Ranger would have to go deal with the situation.
We do a 5 day canoe trip every year, all primitive. Lots of fishing, eating, and libations! Love that river!

Love it, I also enjoy kayaking as well as biking & I spent a good majority of my childhood in Lake City. Great area for getting out on the water .
My brother is in south Florida. Thanks and the looks of those sides will get you ready for the snake rivers second half. Step sides in the dryer parts
Float trips are great. Currently planning a 4 day 3 night kayak trip down the John Day river in central Oregon in June.

Stunning scenery
Oh wow, I love the first creek in your video, it's called swift creek along the Florida Trail. Beautiful area too.
Suwannee river is a great place to yak!! Have yet to camp on that river yet but would love too!! Not many flat accessible areas to camp out there
That part of the river is the best run on that river.
Happy paddling mate, cheers.
Great section of the Suwanee! I tried the same thing at swift creek lol.
Digging your narriration on this one 🤠🤙

Hardly any bugs at all. A really nice time of the year to paddle. Probably more camping until the end of October though.
What was the water level reading when you went? I’m trying to get an idea of what it will look like when me and a buddy go
Subscribed! I'm thinking into getting into kayaking myself. I live in Roswell, north of Atlanta.
Cool. I was just up there last week. It seems like there are quite a few Rivers up there to kayak on.
Did you ever get into kayaking?
@@PADDLECAMPFISH I did not. A combo of lack of time and lack of kayak storage made it so

I don't think we saw a gator this whole trip. I do see gators on the Santa Fe frequently and never have an issue.
Bro please show us how to get into kayaking. I have no idea where to even start. What kayak do I get?
It's Clint!
I think the campground was deserted, I think I would've grabbed a screen house.

My place is just a mile back up river from Woods Ferry. I offer Off Grid camping there. I’ll share a link of you are interested.
Actually, yeah, send me some info. Send me a DM on Instagram: @clintg37
How long would you say it takes to go down river per mile we are planning a 21 mile overnight trip down the same river
About 7-8 hours.
