I use the GoPro 11 with the DJI mic, a Neewer cage, GoPro Mic adapter, and a Smallrig mic adapter holder bolted to the cage. The mic adapter is about $30 cheaper than the Media Mod, and I absolutely love this set up!
DJI Mic sounded the best to me. 2nd was Gopro without the wind slayer. I was surprised how much difference there was with and without the wind slayer on the camera.
For Vlogging I think that you need some more background noise than you have here with the DJI or that GoPro bodysuit. Vloggers get way too carried away with their own voice and forget the atmosphere around them. (There is no use going to a park when you can't hear the park noises)
Thank you for sharing this. I think you can skip the media mode and rather buy a Ulanzi case which protect the camera , cheap +Mic Adapter. You will be good to go.
Recently, I have purchased the GoPro Hero 11, my first camera from your esteemed brand, which I am eagerly anticipating. However, during the waiting period for the product to arrive, I decided to delve deeper into its functionality and characteristics. My primary motivation for this purchase was to engage in motovlogging, hence the ability to connect a microphone via Bluetooth would be an essential feature. Regrettably, I discovered that, despite the available Bluetooth technology, GoPro does not permit this direct connection, necessitating the use of a variety of bulky, heavy, and costly adaptors. Moreover, I am deeply concerned by the reports I have found online regarding the camera's overheating issues. According to numerous videos and testimonials, the Hero 11 cannot record more than 2 to 5 minutes in an external environment without shutting down due to heat. What is even more alarming is that this seems to be a recurring issue since the GoPro Hero 9. It is almost unbelievable that a renowned brand like GoPro, with its reputation in advanced technology, has yet to resolve these issues. I understand that there might be technical challenges involved, but the commitment to user experience should always be paramount. I am still looking forward to receiving my GoPro Hero 11 and exploring its capabilities. However, I cannot ignore the sense of concern these findings have instilled in me. I sincerely hope that GoPro takes these considerations seriously and works towards addressing these issues for future updates or product models
Hi! In my experience the camera will not overheat in 15 minutes... but it will if you are in a hot place and recording at a very high quality. The camera will be unusable until it cools down. (This happened to me in Bali while shooting a POV video). If you do not need the best quality video like the one in the GoPro 11, you might want to take a look at the DJI Osmo action 3 or the Insta 360. Cheers!
@@AndresQuinteroPhoto Thank you for your comments, I'm really starting and I'm already a bit disgusted before receiving the camera just seeing the amount of problems, I bought the Insta 360 x3, a Go pro hero 11 and a go pro 11 mini (which I'm still waiting for) , meanwhile, he began to search on youtube for solutions to use a microphone in the helmet and in these searches I saw a series of videos of motorcyclists and other users complaining that the camera does not manage to record 5 minutes in 5.3k in an external environment, in addition to this there is the problems of having to create real gambiarras to be able to use the helmet's audio and record on the go pro... There are several solutions but none of them is practical or suitable for long trips... I find it regrettable that at the current stage of our technology, the manufacturer covers the product, creating inconvenience and additional costs so that the user can use the camera with external audio in a practical way... I hope to find a solution for the audio issue without having to carry half a ton of adapters or uncomfortable wires, So far I haven't found anything...
have you checked the DJI Osmo Action 3? on that one you can conect the DJI mic reciever without using any cable. The transmition is wireless, and the battery las arround 7-8 hours. Also the case charge the microphones, and if one is out of battery, you can change it for the second one (included on the DJI Mic). I hope you find your best set up 👍
I saw they are selling the DJI Mic with just 1 reciever and 1 transmiter (wich is cheaper than the standard one with 2 transmiters) amzn.to/3XxP9OX I also have a Rode vs DJI mic in my channel if you wanna check the comparison
@@AndresQuinteroPhoto ah, thank you very much for reply. I've just successfully connected it/ but I have a problem now. in the settings you can choose a lot of variety of MODS - media mod - standard mic + /powered mic/ powered mic + / line in. What I need to choose to get a best performance? thank you
Hola Andres! En la miniatura del video tienes el DJI sobre la Go pro (transmisor y microfono). Estoy pensando hacer esto en vez de comprar un rode externo. Que montura necesito para usar el transmisor y el dji en la go pro? Gracias.
Hi Juan Pablo! the DJI Mic already has the mount that works with the go pro. As it is an omnidirectional Mic, you will need to place it close to your mouth (about an open hand away). So I would say the rig you describe is only efficient if you are able to keep it close to your mouth while you talk. If you intend to do vlogging, it would be better placed on your shirt, or if you want to hide it, it also works under the shirt. Bests!
for the DJI Mic I used the option that does not add any db to the recording, if I am not wrong it was Powered mode. The standard one seems to be for the Media mod without another external mic.
@@AndresQuinteroPhoto I am looking for a solution for a week now and I still didn't found a solution and I don't even want to record outside :)) I will come back with my final choice. Right now I am thinking to record externally using a Rode Videomic Go II into a Zoom F3 in 32-bit and sync it with the video in post. Another solution will be the Rode VideoMic Pro+ with the furry directly into the camera. Yet another solution would be Zoom F6 in AIF with Rec mode. That sends a 24-bit signal to your GoPro and 32-bit to the card. 32-bit allows you to edit any bad recording in post.
@@luiginica I think I might like this combo... I really need a studio high quality sounds that can pick anything even a drop of water. I want to use it on my UA-cam channel for travel and camping video. But with GoPro camera for now.
I have a lot of the equipment you just mentioned. And have tried many combos. But for keeping the whole unit compact and wireless, I think the DJI Mic is hard to beat, and I think it sounds amazing. I use the GoPro mic adapter instead of the media mod, but same end result. If I am at a fixed location, and the camera doesn't need to move, I'm not recording with a GoPro anyways.

Not a bad idea! Also it depends on if you want to have the background noise or not, you can always add more gain 😄
Try connecting rode sc 17/22 cable (type c to type c) directly to gopro .. with and with out mob .. waiting for ur video or else tell me if it works ❤

I'm looking to get the DJI mic and use it with GoPro Hero 11
is there any cable required to connect dji receiver with gopro hero 5?
does dji charging case keeps charging mics even if they are 100% charged?
Hi! I do not have a hero 5 to test it :S.
And if the mics are on 100% I asume they can not be charged further than that 😄
Very good review. I like how you clearly showed the differences.
Thanks for making this video
Glad it was helpful!

@@AndresQuinteroPhoto Thank you and one more question, is it possible to connect dji pocket 2 mic with go pro 11 ? (dji pocket 2 mic is quite cheap)
I'm using the hollyland lark m1 with my gopro. It's half the price of the dji and the sound quality is very good
Thank you for the review of each microphone.. to be honest I’m struggling with my go pro audio .. I need wireless microphone 😊
I'm glad it helped!
شكرا لك ، فيديو رائع للغاية
تحية لك من تونس 🇹🇳
Would of liked if you did it for front facing talking and behind camera talking
That is a great idea! maybe for the next one
Could you tell me your gain lebels when u used it with dji mic ??? Im teating it out myself and looking for some advice :)
Usually is in +6 in the mic, reciever +0.
It depends on how loud is the enviroment tho
i like the sound quality of the media mod... but the dji mic has its own advantages.
Great video!
In your opinion, what would you recommend for POV videos? The GoPro by itself picks up my breathing.
Hi Ivan! For my POV videos I am using the DJI Mic
Hallo. But how did you connect it? You did not use go prob audio receiver to connect dji? What kind of cable did you connect it?
Hi! I used the audio cable that comes with the DJI mic and plugged to the media mod. I think is a standard 3.5mm plug.

you're welcome ✌️
Does it hv a removable battery?
The DJI Mic does not, but has a charging case.
If we change the battery, do gopro automatically sync with dji mic?
The gopro starts using the dji mic when you plug it.. so I guess that changing the battery would not change any settings :)
