Good post. . I bought a high mileage (130K) W140 that came w. $24K+ in receipts for all of those parts/maintenance Like you mention at the end. with. 8 MOMO no-pimp wheels; 4 with. Michelin X-Ice tires and 4 w.Michelin Summers. . and I've had almost 7 years of trouble-free driving to date. We, old-timers, don't put our $$ into "balling" mods. and burnouts.
First of all great vid 🙌🏽. But have a question if you could answer. I’ve found a s550L V8 (long version) 2009 model with 51,000km (31,000 miles) for 12,000$ in Japan. As far as I have looked in the pics, the body is clean, it’s got the AMG sports package, the tires clean, interiors clean too, but the main question I want to know is; is it a good price? And how long can it last (in terms of distance) before issues start to pop up?
Some of this info is inaccurate. m272 and m273 engines affected by soft balance sprockets span from 07-09. There is a Mercedes service bulletin stating the affected motors. HOWEVER, this only affected around 20% of the motors from 07-09. Therefore just stating an 07 will have a failure at 100k is highly inaccurate. Cam position codes will begin surfacing in a car with this malady.....however many engines through 07-09 are completely unaffected by the insufficiently heat treated sprockets.
From the time you made this video to now, prices have maintained the same as then. You didn't mention 2012 and 13 has the dual turbos and additional issues that may arise from that.
It does but at the same time you have to take previous owners in account. CLS owners typically drive the car harder, you’ll see more wear on the engine tranny & suspension in my opinion. Doesn’t mean that they aren’t reliable
@@pokerNGold no I think you may have misunderstood. I’m referring to the two door cl550 (c216) which was the S class 2 door coupe for it’s day. Made from 2007-2013

They not junk just had problems, that’s why they have dealer and if the original owner serviced it while it was under warranty they would of replaced it!
Your information is very misleading and incorrect about these cars first o all I only certain 2007 s class engines had the timing chain issue not all of them I had a 2007 w221 for almost 3 years and I only problem that I had with it was the ac blower motor and a passenger side brake caliper failure this car was a very reliable Mercedes I also have a 2011 W221 and it is a reliable Mercedes as well a lot of people talk down on these cars without even owning one the world is bigger and more realistic than what's online
Ive got a w221 and the vid is super accurate. Nice video.

Good deal. Probably no issue for awhile but you never know with these cars. Lots of modules. That price is a steal

Thank you for this info
Only early 2007 m273s were affected with the bad timing sprocket
I see them with 130 + still going if you maintenance like owner manual says a lot of people just neglect and then it deteriorates

I assume if not all of this applies to the cl550

I honestly love these cars and want to find one with the 6.2L v8 even though those engines aren’t the best!
I agree. they may not be the best but they have the most appeal. the 6.2 will forever be a desirable engine.
im here in 2022 and these prices DO NOT match rifhtnow llmao fuck im late
I'm looking now at 2013 with 87k miles for 22900 )))
This car cost 105k bring new . And very very expensive to fix
