The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is an upcoming interactive drama horror game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is set to be the first installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology series. A group of Americans travel to the South Pacific Ocean for a vacation but as a storm approaches, they find themselves trapped in a sunken, cursed ghost ship along with its captain. The game is a horror game played from a third-person perspective, in which players assume control of five characters who are trapped in a ghost ship. Players need to make different decisions and select dialogue options when they are interacting with other characters. The narrative adapts to these choices and it is possible for players to keep all playable characters alive as well as having all of them die. Action sequences mainly feature quick time events. As players explore the ghost ship, they can find different dark pictures, which give the player character premonitions of what may happen in the future.

Man this game brings me back to a time where things in life were so good. I was 25 and had just started dating the girl who would become the mother of my only child. Life was exciting. We both wanted something to play since it was spooky season. Spent an entire day playing it and it brought so much joy. Little did we know 2 years later we would have our first son together along with a fantastic relationship. Less than a year after that we would split and life would change drastically. I’ll always look back on 2019 in such fondness. It’s been about 3 years now and life is still pretty good, just thankful to have an amazing relationship with my boy. Maybe when he gets a bit older he and I will play this game again and experience it together. Anyways thanks for bringing back the memories.

Exactly.. Almost feels rushed. In Until Dawn you seemed to have more time to get to know each character and in this it's constantly jumping.

You can’t really tell the difference between a cut scene and gameplay that’s really cool
The whole game is a giant cutscene
The plot is really cool and interesting, but the one thing I absolutely hate about the game are all of these moments where there are no sounds, no one is spooked, and the suddenly something appears out of nowhere just to scare the shit out of you. Like that one time with the skull in the cargo hold. I think it would be much cooler if they would actually prepare you for these moments.

I know it has been four years but damn , just finished the game and I was extremely confused and started questioning my own sanity when I came back to check if there was a woman or am I going insane playing this horror game after midnight alone with the lights off , it looks like I am sane after all , this was genius from the devs

tetanus isnt a major infection.. due to routine tetanus shots which make people immune basicly

@@justapetrolhead9509 Yes and no. Yes this is part 1, but he literally finished the game. Theres nothing else to do other than get the other 13 endings. And in doing so, its pretty much the same thing other than certain characters get swapped, certain actions are changed etc. Compared to Until Dawn, this game is a lot shorter but does have a LOT more outcomes
No there will be 7 other planned installments. While this one might have been pretty short with 7 other ones that will make the game pretty long in the end

It took me like 5 hrs to complete this game, no one is dead tho.
Nice to find a playthrough with no commentary for this game , relaly gives u the best experience. Those complaining over 30$ i think they made the game to be playable multiple times?? Not trying to say u guys are wrong just a thought i think it shud be longer overall myself.
I bought it for $15 and was totally worth it for me. There are 5 endings and different ways to get there.

I was disappointed,i sincerely hoped fliss and brad and conrad would survive since you didn't give conrad and brad an early death i was expecting them to make it all together still interesting game i was also hoping that maybe since the corpses of all the soldiers popped up perhaps joe and charlie would too

This seems very rushed, not much chance for character delving and development. It actually started getting good when they got on the boat but it goes by fast it doesn't really settle in, its a little disappointing when compared to Until dawn which was much better paced and you learned about the characters as they developed, plus the reveals where paid off well.
Here it's just 'Oh remember that thing? Yeah it was that all along.' Kinda just limp in its delivery. I get that its a episodic game we're getting but I was expecting better :/

4 hours of gameplay, 50 british pounds on psn. I think not. Wtf is this crap? Why are people okay with that? The Witcher 3 has well over 500 hours of gameplay and it's an absolute masterpiece. Costs about 15 pounds now too. But even at launch, 50 pounds was a reasonable price for such a game. But this? I wouldn't even pay 30 quid.

Man my first playthrough was horrible. It got so confusing, the timed action buttons were way too fast, so many glitches, ending up letting 3 people of the group die. And in the end I still was confused about alot of things. And it definitely was too short. I liked Until Dawn better

Dry story line with high quality graphics. Same top notch graphics with a boring “choose your ending” video game. I prefer games that had just one ending and honestly an authentic plot instead of the same JUMPSCARE technique to grab your audience. Outlast was better
