Even though this story wasn’t what I was expecting, Noob was definitely a highlight, just wish we had more of him on screen. And some people said it doesn’t make sense how Noob beat a literal Titan, well it makes sense that he would since he was infused with Haviks Khaos, and not to mention in the old timeline, he went head to head with Fujin.
I think they did him justice they finally made him look stronger that’s all I ever wanted instead of being a punching bag he defeated titan havik who was holding the power of the kamidogus
Oh my god I never thought of that. Great point. Well if you take it like that, Kuai Liang was turned back to human, so my theory is that bi han is somehow in his shoes as well after being turned to noob saibot. Even though it was releases by Sektor from the temple, I believe in the next dlc they will make him back as sub zero. And maybe he will be divided in 2 diff characters after liu kang clears him, all the evil from inside of him will be noob and what is left back to sub zero who knows. But it would suck to make hanzo or frost the next sub zero
I kinda like this version of Noob my biggest problem in the previous nrs games was he was always someones bitch Quan chi and Kronika both. In this one hes truely loyal to himself and is just such a petty asshole hes so fun also him shoving everyone is hilarious lol
I feel like nrs needs a new writing division, everything else was great like the graphics, character design, map design, just the actual story is lackluster from all the loose ends
This is the most sensible take I've seen. My thing is there's a lot of interesting plot points on the table, but barely any of it feels focused. We kind of end at the same spot we were at the end of the base game, except Noob Saibot is the Lin Kuei Grandmaster instead of Sub-Zero. At least he was able to take down Titan Havik. I actually really enjoyed the base game's story besides the last chapter narratively, it was my favorite since MK9. This DLC story could've been way better though, if it was longer and had more focus.
I think the main issue I have with Khaos Reigns is the lack of any meaningful character arcs unlike the base game. Bi-Han being the most egregious given how much focus he gets They had an opportunity for Bi-Han to at least (no pun intended) chill out a bit after his torture but he's the exact same douchebag at the beginning of the story
On that we csm agree dll thos was just extra fights with no deeper meaning behind them. Netherealm's another attempt at a reboot is incredibly lack luster. The antagonist are incredibly ineffective and lack development or qualities that makes them somewhat respectable. The heroes always win without dny long term consequences or losses. If they wanted to make Bi-Han a villain they should have taken pointers from that Mortdl Kombat 2021 movie in which he shows what an effective antagonist should be like. Instead they make an over the top edge lord that lacks combat ability. He is only allowed to win when the plot demands, he defeats Havik but gets captured so easily by Geras. It was pathetic.
It would have had more of an impact if they did the reverse of how arc from the old timelines. Make him a shitty person as Sub-Zero and a more relaxed/caring person as Noob. They also didn't explain what saibot is this time around. 😭
Even if Liu Kang gets Bi-Han back to normal, it wouldn't change anything. Bi-Han is an incredibly short-sighted, arrogant, and selfish individual. His pride won't let him see the simplest of reasons and his ego gets the better of him too frequently and instantly looks down on those weaker than him and perceives those who aren't fond of his ideals as a threat. It's not because Bi-Han can't change, but it's because he doesn't want to. As long as Bi-Han is alive, he's a threat to everyone around him. He doesn't even deserve his title or his moniker.
I have a good guess on who's gonna be Sub-Zero next game, now that Bi-Han has shown that he's very comfortable in Noob Saibot and evil alignment (I just gave up for his redemption, he just feels better as a villain. This is different than Sindel to me). And it's not Frost. It's... Bi-Han and Kuai Liang's father. With this, we can have a reversal on who's going to be the Hellspawn. It's usually Scorpion, but this may be the chance to see an ice cold spectre Sub-Zero. An ice-breathing or manipulating skeleton (just think like Warcraft Lich). They can simply say that the Netherrealm isn't always all about fire and brimstone hell, they can take cues from Divine Comedy about 'lake of ice' hell. All that remains is to see who would dare resurrect the dad as the new Sub-Zero. It will follow the pattern of "Bi-Han is responsible of someone's death that this someone turns into a hellspawn spectre.". It just happens to be not Scorpion this time. Of course, that's just my theory. I don't mind if they decide to just use Frost or Hanzo Hasashi for the new Subby.
Ill say i was never a big noob saibot rarely played as him but i have to see mk1 noob is hands down my favourite character next to smoke like his moves are sick hes fun to play and hes just completely badass overall only thing i dont like is the non redemption arc. I think a red hood type scenario would've worked perfectly here like bi han dosent want to associate or agree with the other heroes but hes still on the side of good an anti hero rather than an anti villian
Feel it would have been a good shot if Sektor had been his Kameo for a few fights, since he actually has a fairly positive relationship with her. Would've been entertaining for him to genuinely compliment her and show appreciation for the effort to bring him back, and then contrast that with when he hangs with Scorpion and Liu Kang and talks shit to them.
I still think Bi-Han can be restored. So I propose this idea for MK2: Bring back the idea of a time jump (1-2 years?), that way Bi-Han is able to be restored after enough time so we have both Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot. How exactly it should play out is up to you, reply the idea on how you want that to work.
His mind is restored and he still doesn't want to go back. He's more powerful as Noob Saibot and he does not want to give up this power. It's in his nature to be power-hungry no matter the cost. I'd actually want NetherRealm to lean into this and have him try to take over Havik's realm.
@@SuperheroRockstarSure, but I doubt anyone in-universe would want Bi-Han to stay that way. Besides, I like the idea of Noob Saibot being a dark clone of Bi-Han like Dark Samus.

BI-Han clearing the final villain was not on my bingo card. At least they gave him that
Obviously Havik infused him with his magic, so basically Havik’s own chaos magic turned against him.

They dropped the ball with the redemption arc
Not every character needs a redemption arc.
I don’t think that’s what they were going for.
He might still have a chance to be restored. Or Frost can just be the next Sub-Zero much as how Kuai Liang succeeded Hanzo as Scorpion.
