They didnt have the resources available to focus on making Anthem as success. So there you go! Bioware is currently building the next Dragon Age game entitled Dreadwolf [4], as well as the next Mass Effect game (name unknown right now) [5]. In the last couple days Bioware announced they are laying off roughly 50 developers in an effort to make a shift towards a more "agile and focused" studio, claiming that this studio change is "not only necessary, but unavoidable" [6]... People are hoping that this isnt a continuation of the downfall of a once beloved studio, but some of those let go were veteran writers and producers with a long history at Bioware.... so it is at least a little troubling. @@ONIrepresentative Sadly the story is worse than that, after the initial bad launch, bioware were working on a massive update to make the game great and fix all the criticisms they had gotten, but after about a year or so EA pulled all funding from the project and left anthem to be forgotten. I personally thought anthem has soooo much potential, it looked great, the gameplay was solid and the gameplay loop hit a scratch only destiny had hit prior. but the games flaws dragged it down and it never got the redemption it deserved. I wish it could've done what cyberpunk did but now we will never know.
I don't think a successful sequel can be made. Especially as the open ending is an allegory to the SA problem. There is no answer. A sequel would water down the messages in D9.

The stage direction for this must've been hilarious. Actress: "So why am I screaming at the camera with my face half-painted in blue?" Blomkamp: "I don't fucking know, Susan! This is a 3 minute long commercial for a game, we're not going for narrative consistency here!"

The team cited Covid being one of the major factors for development stopping, as well as the future of Dragon Age and Mass Effect titles beginning production.
I hope that covers anything. Links to related videos and blog posts below. Enjoy :)

Netflix and anthem need to stop playing around and make a movie or mini series already...🔥 called origin of anthem as a prequel
Like during the Legion of Dawn era and we get to see how humanity was freed, I'd watch the fuck out of that
Yep. Totally agree with both of you.
Nah... they should call it Anthem: Conviction... That's it...
Netflix? Are you serious? 1 of 20 series out of that company have a good storytelling and you dare to think they are gonna make this one right?

If it's the same director, screenwriting, cinematography and anything like this teaser on to Netflix in maybe a special release 16 episode season..... Why not?
Why the fuck couldn’t this be a movie
I’d rather have watched a movie of this than played the game. It’s so disappointing, and yet unsurprising that Anthem turned out the way it did. I wasn’t a fan before, but by canceling the 2.0 update, it completely voided any chance I would have given to try this again. I can only imagine how disappointing it is for any of those currently playing.
This universe had so much potential to be expanded upon - just look at what they were able to produce in this trailer before the game’s release. In canceling their plans to release Anthem 2.0, the game’s fate has been sealed. They plan to keep the servers running for sometime, but with no new content being produced I can only imagine how long people will stay.
Just sucks for everyone. So much talent. Fuck EA.
