  • R’Ha, directed by Kaleb Lechowski, is a fight for survival in a solar system where no one can be trusted. A civil war started by subversives they could have never seen coming. A group of fighters, relentless in their quest to protect their planets will do everything in their power to emerge the victorious underdog against an enemy that appears to always be two steps ahead.
This short leaves you on edge as the future of the guardians of space grows dim in the afterburner of the spacecraft that may lead their enemy right to them. The subtle ending shows a scene so seemingly benign it’ll hit you even harder when you realize the implications of it.

He is right and wrong at the same time. You can't simply create a whole new thing if you were born in the information age, but you can surely twist and mutate it to some extent, leaving a mostly different and polished creation behind, of course this can't always be the case either. There are many things to be discovered, maybe billions to be created, our brains are the most potent sandbox that ever existed.

The musculature is brilliant and the colouring is a welcome departure from the usual choices when dealing with reptiles in science fiction.

doesn't even have to be a movie. just more in general would be good. think about this.. the short is like having an appetizer at a diner. you want the main course now that your appetite's been wetted.
Or if your a gamer, consider this short as a DEMO. it shows the proof of concept and the art and the story direction. from there you (or a publisher/production company that wants to make this into something more) can tell if you want more or less. The fact it starts in the middle of a conflict and ends with a cliff hanger proves it can be longer. and since it peaked curiousity people want to know more about it..
plus the alien design is just wicked cool.. the machine life form could use some work though.

A lot of films reference these ideas but rarely explore them or show you these types of confrontations which just fascinate me. Interesting short, a wonderful piece of love to the art. Besides I recently came across one of those people, quite... unique to say for respect sake. She believes in the spiritual world, those theory's of people seeing dreams so vivid that they remember everything, always sounded to me like a good exercise of imagination nothing else if not leaning to the territory of conspiracy theories and *aliens* like the dude on History channel...
But being represented this way, why not give it a second chance of thought. Keeping and try to separate literature and narrative from plausible and far away facts(?).
It's borderline thinking but, oh well... especially with the title referring to the god of Sun from Egyptian culture. Radical. We are quite young as species. After all didn't we know that the universe has 13.8 billion years and our home has 4.5B years and; as in development as species in the aim to control our destiny we have what... 2020 years of well linked history.
Just another fact for us. To stop infighting for miniscule gain over Who culture is best to live, without restraint to our soul and actions.
      We have 3 possibilities.
1- Being just another tomb world out there (Fermi paradox I believe, correct me if I'm wrong). By nuking ourselves for religious beliefs, politics, economics or law infringement, whatever reason.
2- Wipe out by indecision of action. Say hello to the dinosaur's. Huge hunky rock coming thru the atmosphere and saying... boom baby.
3- Or burn by holy Fire, from our Sun (the most easy on us, just setting us back to the stone age not a big deal, and consequent wars for survival and resources and such) or the other one. Getting cauterized by a pulsar. In which case finito gg, or the ghost Death by neutrinos overcharged which is no different than the previous one.
Life without humans, another relic from HC, when it was good to watch.

This is one of the best short films I have seen. Great work. Very good acting, story and special effects.

Still seeing this 3 years later, I’m still awed by how well written and done this film was. This reminded me so much of the game Stellaris I play. Finding remnants of a once prosperous civilization felled by its own machine creations? Check. Having it happen to your civilization: check. Lol

That's the problem: TV. TV is not a great medium for creativity and imagination, it has way too many constraints. It's like saying there's no good music on radio. This doesnt mean there isnt good music anymore, we just ahve to have open mionds where to dfind it. Luckily tjheres yahoo and other area boradcasting all sorst of alternative programming, allbeit shorts, but still.

Martin Solomon.... Leia, Luke and Han fight to escape from the Death Star. Only to find out they were let go on purpose so they could be tracked to the rebel base. Leia suspected as much but Han didn't believe her. HOWEVER, nobody has ever had a story where machines turn on their creators before. Oh wait, yes they have. This was basically a knock off of terminator and Star Wars, among others.
