    My little 170 stihl chainsaw runs good until I run out of gas. Then it boggs down and then it runs good. Now if i have it running then i shut it off, it will start right up. Only time when I never needed to choke it was when I used the stihl mixture in the can. Running with gas and oil mixture then I have to choke it. I run 91 octane ethanol free

      Yep I have same machine. it is very sensitive to fuel quality and mixture.

    I've just recently bought s set of metering height gauges. How do you know which carburettor you have? You said this one is a C1Q, so is that marked on it somewhere? I see how the gauges are marked up, so I'm OK with that part. thanks, Andy

      Hi! Yes the carb is marked, sometimes hard to read. On the side of the carb near where the mounting screws go through. :) Thank you so much for watching!

    Got rid of my Poulan Pro because it was hard to start and wasnt real dependable. We just bought some acreage and now i am looking for a new saw. Looking for something for our new wooded lot. Poulan and McCullough are the only brands ive ever had. Now i am deciding between Stihl, Echo, and Husky. Probably dont need anything bigger than a 16" to 20". What would you guys recommend? Looking to keep the price reasonable as well. Thanks

      Hi Mike - Stihl, Husqvarna and Echo all can have issues and all require regular maintenance. I think more important then buying by brand is buying from a local shop that is there to support you and your saw as you need service, parts, chains, etc. All three brands offer some affordable options and your local saw shop will be able to help you pick out the size of saw you need for your application.

      @@marriedwithsmallengines You will need to have Streamyard which is free to download and the live stream is on every Saturday at 2pm EST subscribe to Ken's Small Engine Repair and hit the notification button. The first hour is all about Q&A on small engines and equipment then the last hour we just shoot the breeze and discuss whatever. I am normally on there along with a number of other great people.

    I just throw away those spark arrestors all machines I touch.

      I ran a saw 2 summers ago and started a field fire because a piece of hot carbon came out of the exhaust due to no spark arrestor being fitted. It wasn't until that day that I realised why they are there. Won't run one without again.

    has your channel/videos drawn in new customers yet?

      @marriedwithsmallengines  4 місяці тому +1

      No, the goal of this channel isn’t really to bring any additional work through the front door. We are enjoying filming what we are up to, though 😊 I think that most people watching this are not in our area.
