    The reason the pull cord feels funny is that it has easy start. It winds up a spring with your pull then pops it all at once. If you try to start it like your arm is broken (pull like you can't start a saw without decomp) and it will start easy.

    Hi. I've owned and worked on several of those Chinese saws so first, on many saws the small hole you mentioned actually goes to an adjustment for the chain oiler. Use a small flat screwdriver and turn a screw deep inside the hole to adjust the flow of oil to the chain. Second, the 25/1 oil mix is simple. 40/1 or 50/1 mix oil is the recommended leanest mix the oil will work for. Meaning the less amount of oil mix that will still provide satisfactory lubrication. Use the same oil for a 25/1 mix but use just twice the amount recommended for 50/1.

      yeah, I literally have a brand-new pair of safety glasses on my face at all times. Because why not, I try to prevent things from happening if possible. I stopped working for this guy, because he never cared about safety he would literally flip out on me and call me a pussy because I wanted to tie a latter off when we were roofing a house. He said it would take to long, "your not going to fall'. Okay bud no buddy has ever fallen off a latter. Or working on electrical receptacles, I wanted to turn off the breaker. He once again flipped out on me. I said, 'well I'm not doing it then". Didn't have my multimeter on me, like who knows they could have it wired to 240v or worse ( I know unlikely) But you cant tell me that has never happened. Its not worth it. Especially when at the time I was making 15 bucks an hour. I will take calculated risks but only if I'm doing the calculations myself.

      @@JakePlisskin12 I now work in Bulgaria doing construction/renovations, here in Bulgaria safety is not the number one priority, I do quite often have my concerns but just decide not to care, I am an 18y/o apprentice but I work with some guys who I trust my life to, especially a British guy who I work with is very involved with me doing sh1t safely. A few days ago we where working on a roof wherefrom the highest point was about 5-6 meters but there was no safety sh1t, if you slipped you’d slide down the boards and would have to be lucky to grab a crack between them if you don’t wanna kiss the ground. As you can see by this comment I lucky got down alive but it was my first time actually being on the roof of a house and that was quite scary. I normally am not to scared of risks and heights, I’ll even climb trees 5+ meters without being secured but on a roof there is little grip so it’s quite scary.
      My point is:
      Dangerous stuff will always be dangerous but only if you are uncomfortable doing dangerous things will they become more dangerous

    Thanks for this great review! I just ordered one. What a great price! The reviews on Amazon were great. I just cut a few trees around my home. I only have four gas chainsaws and two electric, so I definitely needed another one. 😁 $130 with the tax, wow, can't go wrong! My oldest chainsaw is a Homelite Super XL that I paid $300 for new in 1984 (a lot of money at the time). My most reliable chainsaw has been a Chinese Ryobi that cost $130 about 10 years ago. It starts easily every time and always runs perfect. I love your channel. I love running a chainsaw and cutting trees. There's something thrilling about having all that power in my hands. This chainsaw is a clone of a Japanese Zenoah one. As some of you might already know, Husqvarna bought Zenoah, Jonsered, Partner, McCulloch, Poulan just to name a few.
    The same saws sold as Poulan in the North American market are sold in Europe as McCulloch.
    Chinese saws are actually pretty good, especially for the price.
    The things that break the most on Chinese saws are the rubbers parts such as fuel lines or the rubber intake manifolds that tend to dry out and break.
    Just replace them and you're good to go.

    Ratios like 25:1 were recommended back when we used regular SAE 30 4 stroke oils in our gas, or old 2 stroke oils that had terrible lubrication properties compared to todays oils. Run whatever ratio you want, running more oil isn’t going to hurt your engine provided you jet the carburetor correctly for that ratio. A richer oil to gas ratio will result in a leaner running engine, too much oil without a jet change or adjustment will burn up an engine.

These saws will never compare to the big brand professional saws but they absolutely have their place for the causal homeowner user. You can run them with 50:1 no problems but allegedly do better if run-in at 25:1 like you did.

  • @MrBooMY3
    @MrBooMY3 9 місяців тому

    You can convert that to a side tensioner very easily. Look up 25cc chain tensioner on the jungle site. Trust me it fits. Remove the side cover / chain brake. Remove the 2 screws and plate covering existing tensioner and remove it. Take a 5/16rh Drill bit and run it through the side hole that is for the straight slot gear part of the tensioner. That will allow it to fit. Push that piece into place. It will be a TIGHT fit that is normal for that part. Install the adjustment nib / screw bit into place. Pro tip is to adjust the bit so that it lines up with the current adjustment you were using. Once you get it all in make sure there is plenty of grease all over every part of the tensioner including inside the plastic pockets. It will be VERY hard to turn at first. It should self clearance then work normally after you run it back and forth for a bit. I've done all of the chinese saws this way since I figured it out.

      @MrBooMY3 9 місяців тому +1

      It's also safe to run these at 40:1 with high quality oil. That's what I've been doing without any obvious extra wear. That's my main complaint about these saws. They only have a 510ml tank so it goes really fast compared to at least 800ml on Stihl. It looks like yours actually got the 48mm bore cylinder (61.5 actual CCs FYI). That hump I could see on the side of the cylinder. It should have came with a small crappy but functional dog in the bag. Mine did. They have 4 actual sizes of these clones. Chainsaw Chainsaw (25.4cc) is the smallest Zenoah Clone. Then it goes 46.5cc, 54,5cc, and 61.5cc. The best power can be had from the first and middle sized units as the transfers really suffer trying to feed the bigger CCs.

    Looks like basically the same saw as the Supmix brand (another chinese saw on Amazon), complete with the tensioner hole that goes nowhere. If it is indeed the same, its not actually 62cc -- apparently is measures out to around 55ccs.
    It runs fine on 50:1.
    I've owned it for 2 years now and cut a decent amount of firewood with it.
    Also, I LOVE the spring assisted start -- the saw will start with just a casual slow pull in your hands. Its like drop starting a saw without having to actually throw it down.

Or even start at all again. I was wrong, the lil sucker is a crazy one handed tool and it is almost my go to for light work and even some extended firewood bucking. I put an Oregon 14” on it and it’s got enough balls to handle some leaning on it.

      Qztodo? I have 2 (thats another story) of them and run them all the time for light stuff. The only functional problem I had with them was my fault -- in a rush cutting a tree top off a fence just before total dark, I got the bar pinched and ripped an AV mount (under the top bar). Ordered a full set of Zenoah AV mounts for $10 off ebay and fixed the problem when they arrived from China. I also have a 10" bar that I want to try on one, as well as a 14" bar, no reason in particular, just like messing with those little saws.

I learned with those Chinese chainsaws if you pull the crank rope about 5 times before setting everything to start, they will start a lot easier. Also, a couple of years ago I ordered one in from Walmart That was a larger cc saw (can't remember just what cc it is) with 22inch guide bar for $149. As of right now after 2 years of owning it I haven't been able to get it to start once. Have my nephew working on it to try and get it to run. I'm not a professional by no means, I have used several different brands of saws before I can honestly say I would not trade the 58cc for any other saw. I 've been looking at the pink way for a while I might just get one soon. Being on a fixed low income I cannot afford to drop $300 or more on a saw.
