“I can’t use this phone”
“Why not?”
“Well, the front fell off”
Lol
Damn it you beat me to it.
Was this one built so the front doesn't fall off?
Thats not very typical I’d like to make that point - classic Aussie comedy
Just imagine if you’re using an iPhone or Samsung and while texting the display just casually falls off 😂
Just an FYI: this is a known defect and the manufacturer will replace the device for free.
I'd rather order a $20 LCD display on eBay and swap it out myself than send it to TCL lol
Blackberry Limited Dosent Make Phones Anymore TCL (Which They Also Makes TVs) Build These Phones For Blackberry
Hey, do you know, where I can replace my device? Blackberry-Support?
I remember the issues with the screen on these devices. One particularly reputable UA-camr made a durability test on that phone and he came with the results that there was an issue with the adhesive and the thickness or the lack off of the components and the screen itself. By the way here in Canada they can be found either on the Facebook marketplace or even in some particular stores that sell refurbished phones and such. But you'll need some research first. Anyway. As always another great video. Take care and cheers.
JerryRigEverything?
Yeah,jerryrigeverything
Advocating for right to repair is such an excellent way to look at tech and the mess they made on earth, however given the issues you described in regards to finding parts and the waste of time, its hard to be enthusiastic about it. Either way, keep up the great work. I look forward to your videos every week.
*Jerryrigeverything says that the screen falls off pretty easily so I would expect that type of damage*
They did fix it in the key2 or whatever it's called
@@3bdo_ Yes and they fixed all after jerrys video sent phones.
Abdo_, There was 2 versions of the KEYone, one of them had NO GLUE to hold the screen, so the screen would fall off, the other had glue to hold the display, but it was permanent, so no screen repairs without destroying the display.
@@TCHGOD not a problem though since the only time you want to remove the screen is when it broke
Everyone gangsta till *”Huge Jeffreys”*
bruh
I see you more than acceptable
Ah, yes, the alternative to the johnson
Hey guys welcome back to another huge effreys video

Hugh is a real repair guy. Glue from a giant tube. 😁
I just recently restored mine. I love it so much. Easily a phone I will be keeping safe and admired for years to come.

Let's be honest; TCL devices branded as BlackBerry aren't real BlackBerrys; they're overpriced, underpowered, and almost completely unsupported. BlackBerry was starting to get somewhere when they released the Priv. If they'd continued like that, maybe they would have made a comeback. (I live in Ontario, where RIM was based, so I'm a little bitter about their downfall.)
They should have never switched to android in the first place, IMHO.
I think OnwardMobility should make a slider like the Priv
@@HNedel they did it for survivability
@@Maximus20778 and died anyway, so the switch brought them nothing.
@@HNedel it survived for like 4 years and that's it really.
You could probably 3D print that missing pice of the logo...
Thats a really good idea!
Hugh Jeffreys wow
The dude just settled the problem with a permanent marker. Why would he waste time with 3D printer for a single drupe.
i would have been tempted to take the rest out
@@HughJeffreys Hugh's girlfriend:and now removing my clothes

Please don't get offended it's just a joke.
I’m watching this at 3am. This is more important than sleep
* sees hugh jeffreys fixing a blackberry which screen has poped out *
*Remembers JerryRigEverything durability test * oh so that was the reason

Not exactly a compact phone unless you compare it to today's gigantic sized glass slabs
Finally, you're using those liquid type adhesives
One person I knew did have a Blackberry Classic model. I loved the look of it and how different it was compared to everybody else.
I mean come on. You went from "it looked almost okay so I changed all the external parts to make it look brand new" to "I drew a piece with a marker and it looks OK" with every device you repair. My inner perfectionist is just crying.
I hope that we could see a whole lot of blackberry restoration in this channel now!
Good Video Hugh Jeffreys
Hope to see a Key2 next. Plenty of those broken on eBay right now.
Where? Cant find any :(
@@mirono3099 Im in the USA. There are 6 listed for parts or repair right now, and 2 sold today.

Finally! Another Blackberry restoration!
This one of the best channel.i really love your contents.wish you all the bess
I fixed my wife's phone after the screen fell off thanks to this. Lots of Brownie points....Great!
Awesome job on this one.
Hugh Jeffreys goes DIY I love it 😂🤍
Hi Hugh! I finally see your videos this early
"I had no idea what it's stand for"😂😂
I remember Blackberry was a innovate company back on the years when touch screens was from plastic and non multi-touch, they do the most impressive and for me the way to go on touch screens the Blackberry storm 2 with touch screen that double as a pressable button, that fix the problems until today with accidental touches and more natural feedback when interact with the phone, back in the day was not perfect but if other companies take it would be another history to interact our phones today more confortable and natural with almost 0 accidental touches.
Great restoration thanks hugh
awesome...this is what passion looks like
Much love from Ireland my guy
Man if you didn’t live so far I would send you my iPhone 6s for a whole customization and tell you go WILD on it.
Finally you used liquid adhesive.
Nice to see a Blackberry again, somehow it's also efficient, you know really how to repair them, kind regards.
I live ur repair videos im thinking of trying to repair my iPhone 6s
the way The phone opening was almost like Nokia X7 but the KEYone was open from the back instead of front
Best way to start sunday morning... Hot coffee & your restoration video ✌️😎
Great vid hugh, love it
funny because i watched this video on my keyone. great little phone honestly, happy to see you restore it
I'm a simple man, I see Hugh Jeffreys' video, I hit like
Pls do key 2 next
Very nice repair. When it came to fixing the missing logo piece on the back, I probably would have just blacked out the rest of them to blend lol.
your videos are awesome!!!
Another great video
I didn’t know this phone existed until today and I like it!!
I've had my Key1 for almost 2 years now. Never had an issue with the screen.
However: On day 1, I dropped it from about 20 inches (hand height) onto carpet while I was waiting in line at a store.
The back cover immediately came off and I had a HELL OF A TIME getting the replacement I bought back on. It was, as I read in someone's words on another youtube video, "a rape scene" to replace.
It is damn near impossible to remove the back cover and get it back on. Even though I got it back on, I had a couple of the plastic clips break off. It never fully closed. I ended up having to buy a silicone case to make sure the back didn't fall off suddenly.
And I just watched Hugh remove the top plastic bracket that has 2 screws that could have saved me 30 minutes of torture getting the back on again.... Wish I looked further into removing the back cover.

What color KEYone do you have and what's the build date?
@@KBoon all black. If by build date you number, then ABX992
LOVE YOUR VIDS. You honestly inspire me. I want to fix a galaxy note 9.
i remember blackberry getting going crazy in 2010-2013 with bbm everyone had curve at collage that was in the uk i got pile of them still in my room haha
I remember having one, the phone network 4G and 3G speed was so bad everywhere, and the wifi connectivity was so nonexistent that I smashed the phone with a hammer in rage before upgrading to a Galaxy S3. Keyboard and Whatsapp was superb though, it’s too bad that everything else absolutely sucked.
there are quite a bunch of replacement batteries for the KEYone on amazon, have a look
After watching half of his channel's videos, I can say that he is not satisfied without the clean!😂😂
Thanks for the vid!
You can use some rubber bands to add pressure for future repairs!
Blackberry should be back to its glory
Awesome 🤩👌
Also do a restoration video of samsung s8 from ur previous lot

You should open a phone repair shop :D
My first smartphone support was blackberries. This was circa 1990. These were the ones with the keyboard at bottom. All our big shots got one.
The first Berry was in 1999 I believe
After watching all these iphone, samsung restoration videos i do wonder what phone does he uses as a main phone?
What double sided tape adhesive do you use?
Where do you collect these old devices from????
Nice video!
I wish BB would get a camera and photo software like ios....I'd totally switchback....but nobody can seem to get the Iphoto experience......
I love this phone wanting one so bad
Hugh, could you please do some microsoldering videos. Would love to see it
Do you think Hugh you could buy and fix up an old school BlackBerry Curve? Maybe even a Torch (Torches are the sliders) or even a Bold? It would go well with the BlackBerry series of restorations
Not even worth the time, those old BBOS devices can be found for under $20 on eBay
The first 3 steps of the back panel removal process reminds me of the teardown of an iPod Mini
really handsome phone
I was literally watching other of your videos I’m from 🇵🇷
Other of your videos doesn’t make sense
If I had a girlfriend I needed to break up with could you do it for me? I just love the way you say “and we’re done” after every resto.
My uncle is using this he is a fan of blackberry love from Pakistan
Wassup Hugh,Huge Fan Awesome Vids! Keep up the good work...Big fam from Fiji🇫🇯
Ohhhh no wayyyyy
YAAAS!! I like BlackBerry
Blackberry phones are like tank. They can out last any premium phone in the market. Me personally i have owned 2 blackberry phone. Bold 9900 & Keyone. Both are still good as new.
I just wish we could get phones like this in 2020. I'm just sick and tired of slippery phone with glass back because "it feels premium" but most of the users(me included) will slap a cheap plastic case on the phone anyway so you have a device with premium feel that most users enjoy for few minutes but it's a nightmare to repair.
And the funny thing is that plastic won't get in the way off wireless charging or nfc and it can feel much more premium or the plastic can be under premium materials and it will be cheaper and much more durable. And water resistance can be achieved with plastic as well and it won't go away when you drop your phone.
You can find decently priced KEY2's and KEY2 LE's these days.
@@KBoon Yeah but you get a phone that at least two years in their live cycle and they are outdated in terms of version of android.
In my country you can get KEY2 and KEY2 LE for about 250€ and up. And for that price I can get brand new device with same specs but it can do it's job for 2years longer.
My rant was about phones today in general that they are unrepairable slabs of glass and metal without any reason pretty much.
Goodnight from holland
In the US we use E6000 adhesive and it is good..
This is like 9 year old me opening up my ipod
get the case man
A beautiful mobile phone
I bought one on pre-order and it must have been one of the earliest ones, but luckily the screen never fell off.
And would you know, it came loose today 😮
It is an adhesive that comes out of giant tube😂😂
Best explanation ever for E800
*E8000
@@RestoreTechnique didn't he said E800? 04:13
@@meetv7700 Yes he did, but it's E8000. I have a tube. Pause at 4:21 or 4:22 to see the 8000.
@@RestoreTechnique right but still it is an adhesive that comes out of giant tube

You also forgot the older blackberry phones have a mouse on them as well
Here, in Romania you can get a functional one for about 70$

Way to go man! I had one for a while when they came out. I have a passport that I used for a while, but ultimately had to switch to iPhone. Mad props!
Hi can you make a video about recovery and upgrade iMac
lmao what hugh here in canada i got one brand new for $175 off amazon
Post up if you find any replacement batteries or parts. I just keep finding stuff on Alibaba only. I just got a decent one off gumtree for 40 bucks.
Hugh Jefferies what kind of canned air do you use?
were is a serial pairing of a screen to the mother board of the phone ?
In my opinion this fruit doesn't try to stop you from repairing it :)
Love it
I am watching from the US
I found a battery for the key one on Amazon here in the U.S. I’m not sure if you could get them imported to AU, but it might be something to look into.
6 am Sunday morning, it Hugh Jeffries time. Ship parts from the UK Hugh, it doesn't take long.
