Hi. I'm a total noob and your videos have helped me out this evening. I have a t7 with the nifty 50, 18-55, and 75-300. Thank you for all your efforts ❤
It's normally a painful process for me to get through the fundamentals of a new hobby but I have spent so much time watching your videos! I love how you teach and then implement what you've just talked about. It helps me absorb the information! Thank you :)
I was taking outdoor beach bird photos today and totally messed them up because I was always taught to use Manual settings BUT I didn't have the right shutter speeds, aperture or ISO and they came out horrible. Found Paul's channel and it brought back all that I needed to learn again and first time learnings as well - what a great channel!! Thank you Paul.
I recently purchased a Nixon Zf and am taking up photography as a retirement hobby. Your videos are very helpful in understanding phtography. Thank you for your time in making these videos.
Thank you so much for your videos! I am a brand new novice photographer who picked up the camera to take pictures of my boys playing soccer here in America. I am getting great results using your techniques. You make the explanations so understandable. Keep helping us be better 🥰🙌🏾⚽️📸
this was so easy to learn i understood it all I'm learning disabled and was in all special ed classes and photography is my passion Thank you for sharing
Cheer's Paul, another great video, I would like to learn more from you on shutter mechanisms , yes could read online, but your explanations are straight forward to understand!
I take a lot of still photos so my shutter speed is 1/100 to start. I change it with the light of course. Since I mostly use FV canon mode, I can keep my aperture locked it where I want it. Just like Manual mode. Now, if i do try a freeze frame then I am using 1/1000 or faster depending on light and motion. Good video.
Hi Paul, great video and well presented, i like how you used the Record player to show the results of different Shutter Speeds. Great examples explained and easy to understand, and no information overload. Any new photographer will never be overwhelmed with information from your videos Paul. Great subject, thank you. 😃
Being a novice, I really enjoy your videos. I’m retired and have become interested in photography. I have an older Nikon 3400 with kit lenses. I’ve taken some very good photos with it but woukd like to upgrade to a newer camera and better lenses. My budget doesn’t allow for one of the full frame cameras like professionals use. One of my friends has a new Canon ESO 90D and loves it. What is your advice?
I'm the DJ 😀. I still play occasionally - here's a link if you wish to listen or find out more. soundcloud.com/paulfarris Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
@@photogenius Cool, will do. I'm 57 now and use MixCloud to do the do, as I am in month 10 of a 2 year recovery from a urgent spinal operation. Then have another two possibly 3 operations after that. So everything has become limited and have to think outside the box when it comes to photography and reaching places to capture. Many have been captured from the cab of my ute. Pretty new to Digital, 2 years now, just upgraded to a Nikon Z6II about 3 months ago. I really enjoy your channel, advice, guidance and tips.Thank you.
"ISO keep it low" has been my message for sometime. Of course more recently with Adobe De-noise and advancements in sensors and camera tech, pushing the ISO higher isn't as big a deal as it was a few years back. I still believe that keeping the ISO low is best as a default, up until the point that you need to use it. ISO 200 is also often the recommended ISO by the camera manufacturers. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.

Would love to see a video about mechanical and electric shutters
Thank you for making my photography techniques amazing❤
My pleasure 😊 happy to help - thank you for watching and supporting.
Try different stuff, don't be afraid to fail. If your camera starts smoking, sparking, and/or catches fire, you'll know you've gone too far. Easy.
Photo Basics would be a better name! Nice clear explanations and well presented.
I am new as well, and found your channel by pure luck. you explain things so clearly and simple. Gave your channel name to a friend
You’ve got a new subscriber! Enjoy your videos, helps a novice like me. Is that a wookie coffee cup? Have the same one😁
Paul you are doing a superb job, thanks
Wonderful. Thanks 😊
Great video thanks for sharing
How about a segment on printing photos? Knowing what to look for in quality printing and framing would be nice.
A great suggestion and one for the list, thanks 👏😃

🎉😊thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge!

Another good 1 Paul.

If you change the shutter speed, dont you need to change iso settig as well?
Also why didnt you choose the shutter option on the dial?
Great info, as always. Thanks!
Pleasure, thank you.
Great advice as always 👍🏻🇬🇧
Thanks 😃
great sharing 😍😍
Thank you! Cheers!
what lens is on that canon camera?
Arh Nikon Z8 also only has an electronic shutter
Spot on 😃
Yes... Mechanical vs Electronic Shutters....
I'd like to see a video pertaining to actually capturing real raindrop splashes on bodies of water !(river, ocean, lake ) Thanks !!! 👍
Yes I agree. I would love to see clear beads of sweat or raindrops bouncing off an umbrella or footpath. Thanks for your great tutorials Paul 😊
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time. It seems that you are always using ISO 200. Could you explain your reasoning?
"ISO keep it low" has been my message for sometime. The best shutter speed is the setting that freezes the movement of your subject. Unless you are creating an artistic blur.
The best shutter speed is the one that follows the Reciprocal Rule in Photography.
I almost removed your video from my suggested videos because you framed the thumbnail in red making me think that I already watched it.
Thanks for pointing that out Neal, I might have to rethink red borders.
the more you know.
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you for the 👍🏻 😀
I find f9.5 is the best shutter speed.
That, is a stupid question.
Buy books you learn better ,
They don’t print them anymore
Would really like to see a video on mechanical and electronic shutters.
