My in laws Expedition had that problem they came to me for help, after doing some research on line I tried you tube and I found your video, I replaced those 3 pieces of hose and now the a/c is blowing through the vents again. Thank you so much.
Wanted to say Thank you! I was having the same problem and couldn’t figure it out. Watched your video and sure enough the vacuum hose connection pieces in those hoses you showed were completely wasted. I replaced all of them and tand bam! It all started to work again. Thanks again!
Man, you’re awesome! You saved me $500 from going to the shop and it was a $0.50 piece of tubing from Napa. Same thing was happening to my 2005 Ford Expedition AC blowing through the defrost vents but it was cold just nothing coming out the front. Replaced those two pieces you talked about (behind battery case and the tubing connected to the little plastic circular adapter). Genius. You are pure genius. Thanks so much for posting this! It’s awfully hot in south Florida summers!
Hey buddy he fixed my car AC up and running it only took me 5 minutes it took more time to drive over to O'Reilly's where I bought 7/32 hose they only sold it in six foot section thank you for your video you've probably helped thousands of people great job
Thanks for this video! The mechanic I used accidently unplugged this when he was putting a new coil and plug in. I was able to plug her back and the AC is fine now.
DUDE!!!! You just saved my bacon. In Phoenix & it is getting HOT! My '04 pile (affectionately dubbed the "silver Bullet") was blowing 80-90% out the defrost. I just kinda jiggled the vacuum lines you showed and BOOM! The air is blowing out the correct vents now and frosty cold. I am going to Auto Zone to spend $4 and replace those AZ dry rotted heat-baked hunks of crumbling rubber today! Huge help!!!!
Thank you a thousand times for sharing this. I'm another one who you saved 100s of dollars. Hope and pray the good fortune comes back around to you. Thanks again.
Man you are a life saver i had been driving around with ac stuck on defrost for about a month called a shop they said 65 to look at it then additional cost to fix i watched you vid checked the hoses surly enough the bottom one was broken quick fix took 5 mins and AC is running perfect thanks a million
Was this easy.? My truck is blowing cold air but not from the vents, only on the defrost mode, im in Arizona. 112F no joke. Specially driving a black truck with black leather interior 😭😿
Thanks for the video and the information. A broken vacuum hose was my problem also caused by the battery pinching the line. Line was still good otherwise so it got spliced and the vents are now blowing cold air. Thanks again!
Much appreciated, the bottom short hose (at 1.15) that connects to another valve was damaged. Initially from the front side it looked fine, reached around the back side and it was split enough to cause the issue. Check the back side everyone, it might solve the problem. Good job Velez and MUCH APPRECIATED, I encourage you to make additional videos as you service your expedition. Wife is happy again, always a good thing!
Who would of know those small rubber lines control the air in the front vents..Thanks Alot . I replaced it with new ones and now got cold air in the front vents👍👍👍
Alright, alright, alright. My man you have saved me a lot of aggravation and heartache. I appreciate you sharing this with all of us, I mean really appreciate it! For anyone having this same problem it surely is a life saver tip to know about. For myself, being disabled and unable to even stand freely for more than a couple of minutes, I want you to know that you have done a lot more than just make a quick video; you have helped me way beyond that! I cannot say thank you enough.
Hello I’m currently having problems with that wire hose! It’s the same piece that you mention at 1:16-1:18. Do the back piece connect to anything or do it just hang free.
Very helpful video! Do you happen to know what could cause no vacuum going to that or the brake booster? Like where the vacuum is supposed to first start going to those systems. The brake booster has three hoses going to its check valve one from the air filter box, one goes to a metal tube that curves behind the engine, and one goes along to those hoses you were just working on. Im guessing the vacuum is supposed to be provided by the metal tube curving behind the engine but there is no vacuum in any of those lines
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE !!!!!KEVIN Da Superman JOHNSON!!! I took a used car battery I found on the street ( today is trash day). Took it to ORIELYS AUTO STORE, got a $10.00 credit .....Bought the HOSE for a whopping $1.72 with military discount..$.1.98 without....The dealership wanted $390.00 to fix.....Thank you so much Sir,,,My AC is Blowing!!!!!!😁😀😀😁😁😀😀
Fords other design flaw with IWE Vacuum. Having the same problem but when I have the A/c on for 20 mins of driving and the Engine Fans is running. The vehicle loses power of acceleration and gets up to speed slow.
Im having an odd problem kinda like this with my 03, what happens is i could be driving along and when i start getting on the gas a bit it goes to the defrost vents till i let off the gas peddle. I wonder if this would fix that.
What is that specific part/ hose actually called? My ac is blowing out the defrost vents as well like you stated in video but its always blowing hot. It will not blow cold even after putting freon :( its been like this for a year. I have 4 kids and pregnant right now, ITS HOT!😂 MOMMA needs some ac in her life!!
If it's not blowing cold at all you may have a leak in the Ac system, which includes the compressor, condenser, orfice tube, or another soft part, have someone check the system 1st then fix the vacuum leak under the hood
Jessica Maneille dammm 4 kids and prego and still running without AC.? Tell your man to fix it up, I would never let my pregnant wife and kids running without AC..! 😘😕
Damn I just swapped my blender motor. Still same problem. That sucked because I literally got my hand stuck in the dash. No joke like I was about to call the fire department. 100%. I will check these hoses out. Where do they goto anyway?
It starts on the manifold, and t's off to go behind the battery and 1 goes through the firewall. Now if this doesn't work then its the vacuum switch located behind the firewall but its really not needed so if you cap the line and only the line going to the vacuum switch it will work again also.
Back here 3 years later with an additional problem. I was able to replace the connections at the vacuum box behind the battery and at a T junction. However, the two lines/hoses that come through the rubber grommet have broken off at the firewall, not enough length remaining to perform the usual connection fix. Anyone had to deal with this?
@@KevvoDaDon05 Thanks again, I watched your part 2 video on this issue, getting to the cabin side behind the radio looks frightening. However, it did make me realize that the gray line should attach to the water valve, I found the end tucked below the computer at the firewall. I was able to connect that with some hose!!! Better still, I pulled the black line on the engine side, trimmed the end that had broken leading to the engine connections, tucked it back into the hole and I have air again. I have been without cold ac for months and going crazy, driving around sweating like a pig. I have to give you the credit again Velez!!!!

They control contol it from switching from the dash vents th the front vent, it needs air to push it back and forth
