Neika, I feel this. My placement coordinator and mentor have really dropped the ball. I finished my observation and WGU messed up a test that I needed. They informed me literally a week before DT placement. They will not allow me to place even though the school I work at are advocating and thought I was going to be with them. I have not been the most impressed with this aspect of WGU. I now have to wait until April and I HOPE that the two months count. Thankfully my district is advocating hard for me. I just completed my theory, passed all exams, and my PC has shared the ISD info with me. I have filled the forms for the placement, but I have no clue how long one waits for the placement call. Any info will be helpful. Thanks
The classes are great. However, when you do PCE and DT it can take a long time to get placement. In the meantime, you are paying for school. Essentially i am paying tuition while i am waiting for DT and only had PCE which was completed in 2 weeks. You don't have a great time frame. Your placement can be any time and your just on call. If you just want the bachelors I think it's great but the student teaching you should go to an alternative teaching program.
I went to WGU academy to take a few courses to be accepted. I brought in 12 credits with WGU academy, so yes, I started from ground zero! If I didn’t have to do preclinicals and student teaching, I could have finished in 10 months!

While I was waiting for student teaching, I was on term break so I didn’t pay any tuition until I started student teaching in the fall
