My jaw dropped when you said your masters program was $3,300! That’s roughly the amount I paid for one semester of my undergrad! How crazy! 😳 It is incredibly admirable that you set your mind to finishing your masters in six months and you completed it! Each video that I watch of you only makes me more impressed with how hard you work. I have been searching for a masters program and sadly the one I had my heart set on through Concordia is no longer available 😭. I will be a first year middle school teacher this fall and am searching for a program that won’t overwhelm me while I’m navigating all that is required as a full time teacher! You definitely made a very good case for WGU with its self-paced program! Again, way to go!!

Congratulations on finishing!!! So excited for you! Less than 6 months is AMAZING! I started my MSCIN in January at WGU. I inquired about it after your first video telling us you were going. I wasn’t convinced I was ready to get my masters yet, but talking to them made it seem doable. Plus, I always thought I would get my masters my third year, and then I had second thoughts, but now here I am... 😂 I was originally going to do the instructional design degree but my enrollment counselor and I decided that based on what I wanted to achieve with the degree, CIN would be better. I am aiming to finish in a year and am on pace for that. I do have a brother with a significant disability that I take care of and I teach full time, so 6 months did not seem super realistic to me. But that is the beauty of WGU - everyone can go at their own pace. I agree with all your points - I love not being forced to talk to course instructors and I enjoy the competency based grading system. I love the rubrics for all the tasks too! I’m also bummed to hear you PM wasn’t a good fit because mine is literally the best!! Anyways, congratulations on finishing!!! It’s a lot of work!!!

I can't decide between a masters in teaching, secondary English or elementary education. Help. My BA was University Studies with emphasis on English, Child Development, and TESOL cert. I'm good with little children and enjoy them. But I like the idea of teaching upper grade levels and having less fluff. And a prep period. I feel like the Elementary program will be easier for me. But the English course has 7 less classes.

Congrats! I just finished my masters as well through CUW. It was a 2 year program and over $20,000. My capstone alone took me 6 months and over 70 pages! I also had to complete a field experience within the district I work at. Did you have to complete that? Did you do a portfolio? My program was also self paced which was so helpful with a busy schedule!
