Best method for getting an S CLASS Dreadnought in No Mans Sky

- Hey guys, I have gotten back into no mans sky lately after the amazing updates and so I thought I would do a small tutorial for you all! If you enjoyed please consider leaving a like or subscribe!

A different way to disable the ship is to First take out the engines, then take out the freighter turrets on the top of the ship and that should end the battle...at least that's how I've been doing it.
Edit: you have to be inside the frigates shield (very close) to hit the engines or you won’t do any damage.
Same can be said for the turrets, only you don’t need to be that close for those.
Fastest way to do it.

@@TheEc1ypse Yup this. Fly in close until you're under the shields, pop the engines and then fly up and around, pop the 6 (5 in the back, 1 in the front) giant turrets and it surrenders. Even the starter ship can do this (use your rocket launchers for mega damage); alternatively of course upgrade your shields and weapons (regardless of ship) is still recommended
You dont have to do the shields, trench run at all, just more your ship through the shield and take out the engines first, then the big guns (5 of them) and its defeated
Its much faster
You earn nearly 7 million units when you do this (save the civilian), if you then land on the Dreadnaught, go to the bridge and demand tribute, youll get units, nanites, salvaged frigate modules, cargo bulkheads and sometimes other stuff too
If you still really want to, you can blow it up after this, but i dont think you get more rewards if you done what i said above

I was just trying to say Engines and Guns is all that is needed
And this is faster/easier than Shields, Engines then Mast (or Guns)
Its just a 2 step process vs a 3 step process
A guide should cover _all_ the possibilities
A video using the words "Best Method", should also try to show the fastest and best methods
Im also not saying "faster is better", and if youre in a fully Tech'd ship it will always be fast
But those trying this in the Radiant Pillar with just some tech theyve found might prefer a shorter completion
Im not trying to insult you, just trying to improve the experience of those most likely to watch this video, newer players

I landed in this event badly prepared, and had trouble finding what was back, front, lower and upper side of the dreadnought lol but I did bring it down only to find it was C class. Still claimed it for the looks. Nice video, thanks.

I'm not a big fan of pirate systems for S-class ships, regular ships, sentinel ships or the new pirate freighters. Pirate systems do have a slightly higher chance for an S-class to spawn than a three star economy system, but Hello Games gives a slight nerf to the S-class ship stats in pirate systems. For me the whole point in spending hours reloading restore points for an S-class is to get the highest stats possible. Once I had triggered a freighter battle, I farmed my S-class pirate freighter searching 3 star economy/3 star conflict Korvax systems. I found it is about one in three of these 3/3 systems that will spawn a pirate freighter battle. I also like to have a Korvax captain, so I searched 3/3 Korvax systems only. Once you've found your system, you're good to go on farming. It took me about 3 hours once I started farming in the 3/3 korvax system to get my S-class pirate freighter.
I see, I did not know this haha. My thoughts were that they have a higher chance of occurring in pirate systems
Good video the only critic I have is to take the engines out first as they can warp out before taking the shields down as they can warp out before you take all the shields out. With taking the engines down first it can not warp away.
I tried this but I wasn’t able to deal any damage to the engines without taking the shields out first, maybe I’m doing something wrong?
@@TheEc1ypse You have to get inside the shield to do damage to them. so you will be right on top of the engines when you do this.

Yes, not reading the description on the right down corner. Enter under shields 🤣 could you delete and redo the video? Fresh players could be confused. P s you can disable them with pillar and his weapos only doing it right. @@TheEc1ypse

If you take out the engines, take out the shield shield parts. There’s also fuel rods that pop up after you destroyed the shield generators destroy those and automatically give up no need to damage the whole engines generators fuel fuel rods that come up from the shield generators.
Happy to report, this worked 😀 I had bad luck so it took 15 attempts but I got each attempt down to 3 minutes so it really wasn't bad at all. (Side note: way easier on controller if you have access to one)
Since your reply was 1 day ago, did the reloading auto save method work for you? My game is auto saving the second I defeat the dreadnought. So I can't reload auto save because it just reloads to an empty system. No dreadnought to fight.
@@DigitalHDx so you should have two options, reload save and reload restore points. Check the timestamps to make sure the restore point saves at the space station outside your target system. You should be good from there.
To break it down, I went to the space station, exited the ship to make a restore point. Got back in my ship, warped to the pirate system, hit the freighter, and reloaded the restore point if it wasn't what I wanted.
did they patch the "reload from auto save" to prevent people from exploiting it respawning? I defeated the Dreadnought. Boarded it. Viewed the class from the hanger just like you. My autosave said 1 minute prior to the current time but i loaded it anyways. It loaded me in the same system but with no Dreadnought.
It's quicker and easier to take out the anti freighter turrets first working from bow to stern and then destroy the engines.
I've done this many times including in the Liquidators Expedition where I captured an S Class Pirate Freighter. (I used my main save Sentinel Fighter in the expedition).
The ship is then yours.
I'm not for sure why but I can only load the autosaves after a battle for the dreadnought 2 or 3 times then the autosave moves forwards in time for some reason, so when I load in after 2 or 3 autosaves the battle is already over, has this method been patched out or am I doing something wrong?
if that happens what you need to do is warp out of the system and then warp back in
I installed a conflict scanner but for some reason it won’t show up so I can’t scan
@@Crispyonvr you need to hit the up arrow when in the galaxy map
Select "Conflict" on the filter. Way easier to find a Pirate system (red star)

@@0ld_R3b3l ive done both ways, Its more of a hassle imo to around and find each cannon, especially for new players. But ya, whatever works!
you could go straight for the Dreadnought cannons and it will surrender right away and even get rewarded for saving the private ships :)

got one question... i still have an S Class Freighter fully equiped.... what happened if i change then from my Old Freighter to the New One ? DO i lost the Old one without all Material and equipment inside .. like it is with the Ships ?
You have to delete everything you have built on the inside, one by one, to get the resources back. Do not choose "reset base" on the bridge, because it will delete everything inside, without giving you the resources back. That way you can rebuild everything on your new freighter. Do not worry about anything else. The frigates and the freighter upgrades you have bought are not lost.

Thanks for this. Newbie here and having an A class capital ship. Not heavily invested on it yet. but I upgraded some invetory slots already. Should I start find an S class ship now? I like the asthetic of a dreadnought too

Just so you know all I did was put my space conflict on aggressive and went to 3 different systems and I found an s class in less then 10 minutes. I got this before I watched this video and I just clicked on the video to boast about it in the comments 😂😂

Tjisnisndudenis such a full of it 😂 (the way he talks about things he doesn’t know) You don’t need to do any “regular” freighter battle and rescue anyone. You don’t need to jump between pirate systems. In fact pirate system has lower chance of spawning than a high tech (3 star economy) system with 3 star conflict.
@@TheXxxeeelll Buddy read the discord server…it literally says there that you need to have rescued two freighters from pirates in order for the dreadnought event to spawn. That means two regular freighter battles…also 3 star economy systems do spawn dreads I know that but pirate systems are a good and proven method as well. Also, do everyone a favour and go learn English, it’s obviously your second language

You do not need to destroy the shields. Just engines and the big cannons.
You have to disable the shields to destroy the power cores lil bro takes 30 seconds for me to kill the dreadnought

you only have to destroy the engines and guns and the dread will surrender destroying the sheilds will cause the dread to try and jump

Yes, I’d recommend going for the cannons tho asap since they do the most dmg to the civilian vessel

After second run, tried to reload the autosave it didn't restart the battle for the third time...
Did you then warp out and back in?

@@KonstantinI no problem! When the battle doesn’t restart on auto save reload warping out and back in is what fixed it for me

@@Rhyolite904 the ship I was flying around in the video was actually an interceptor! I just dropped a video on how to farm tons of units per hour and those are the same type of ships as mine!

@@TheEc1ypse The hanger location at the front is inconvenient, have to dive when you call it in where the others are positioned right in front of you on arrival.
Top is covered in antennae and turrets and things that I mostly just crash into by accident.
Doesn't paint very well, if that's important.
It's all pretty arbitrary, I know. But it's problems the others don't have with no real benefit other than appearance.

I hate it when people claim their method is the "best" but when you watch it, it's not the most efficient way... Just take out the engines and the freighter turrets. Easy peasy. Less then 2 mins the freighter will surrender. You don't need to take down the shields.
@@blehbleh1260 its a matter of personal opinion. This way is one of the fastest and easiest ways. With the cannons, you need to move around to each new cannon and shoot them down. With this method, you shoot at a single spot until it gets defeated. Even easier
@@TheEc1ypse There's only 6 freighter turrets (the one that shoots at the civilian freighter aka the large anti-freighter cannons). Like I said, and like I've noticed some comments say the same. Destroy the 4 engines first, then the 6 anti-freighter cannons/turrets. No need to take down the shields. The ship will easily surrender in less than 2 mins.

The problem is you're stupid. it's clearly the best way hes found. There is always going to be faster ways that's why speed running exists.
