@@cristobalbarra583 the only mod I could ever recommend anyone use is place anywhere. The building in fallout goes from a 5/10 to a solid 8/10 with it. No longer do you have to sit there and finnick with that one piece of foundation that doesn’t want to snap into place
@@ieatdabluewaffleNo it isn’t. Fallout New Vegas is Post-post apocalyptic. FO4 is still knee deep in the effects of the apocalypse and there isn’t much of any governing entity outside of Diamond City and a few other settlements that are too small to even be called towns.
Diamond city is so underwhelming It feels like there’s a 1:1 ratio of security to residents, not to mention half the stadium is empty with just low LOD scenery placed down.
It would have been that way if lazy ass Bethesda actually decided to develope a new engine to modern standards and really give in the grind on Fallout 4 in the first place. Dont get me wrong, i love Fallout 4 and techwise it holds up ok but you can clearly see that with Fallout 4 Bethesda was in it for the easy cash grab with minimal effort and it just works.
This is actually what i ORIGINALLY thought Diamond City would look but in Diamond City, I just go to the same 3-5 places because everything else just has nothing for me
@@skylinesenpai5554 i don't really agree, i believe fallout 4 its the only bethesda game to date (excluding 76) that feels modern, all their other games are janky as hell. but yeah, glad to see starfield is using another engine finally
You have to remember that they are making a game for people who don't have good gaming rigs too. This would probably melt some people's CPUs, especially if you threw combat on top of it all.
As someone who has played this game since release, I have never thought such a feat to be possible, yet there it is staring me directly in the face. Such a beautiful and vibrant city, its all so well done and it makes you feel at home rather than just being a scrap wasteland. This may be THE most impressive thing I have ever seen someone do with the game. My hat is off to you
Same I remember me and my four friends stayed out of school the day it dropped and played it in a PlayStation party all day long my first settlement was just a chair on top of a house with a TV 😂😂😂
@@Rheper. a view to embrace. I'm currently downloading the game. Since I graduated. Pretty much tryn get a job that aligns with my experience. Ugh the wait is unbearable! So Fallout is going to help me a lot!!
Mods were definitely used how else did he get the cars inside the settlement? Also you can have that much stuff without some mods. It's still very cool though
@@MrBlack252 Yes you can actually. The cars im not exactly sure how he got them but you can absolutely have that much stuff. Read the video description before commenting.
@@MrBlack252 Just saw from watching the video that he was able to get the cars in by pushing the cars with dropped weapons by dragging them against the car
You've single-handedly done what would generally take an entire team of devs to accomplish. And as a semi-master builder of FO4 myself I am utterly astounded by the obvious time you've put into this masterclass of a project. Good lord, the random crap-gathering alone, the car-pushing, the barrel and box carrying, etc. Not to mention all the work you did with rug/pillar-ing in very tight spaces. I've seen some amazing builds over the years, done a few myself in fact, but this? This is one of the very few truly in a class all it's own. Well done.
This is great build overall but honestly I still prefer Ranger Dave's build on the settlement. Ties in a lot of lore, and implements the Minutemen having a Commonwealth government. Recommend everyone check out his 4 Part video series.
This is unbelievable. The buildings are so cool, but it's the little details that really make it feel like a genuine living settlement, the vending machines, chairs, fire barrels, the "hard hat area" with construction signs, items on shelves, plants growing in bathtubs, the "Merc needed" and "shack for sale" signs, and the POOL! Dude, that's such a cool idea! This is the single coolest thing I've seen built in vanilla Fallout 4. You should be proud of this, man. This is out of this world. This is better than anything the actual devs at Bethesda built. Damn, I didn't know storing guns in Workshop mode increased build limit! I guess Gamma Guns are the most efficient, but any gun will do. I have a trunk full of hundreds of guns for spare parts! They're all going into the workshop today lol. (FYI for anyone who reads this: the way to store them properly, I'm finding, is to drop the guns on the ground and then enter Workshop mode and "store" the guns directly from the ground.)
I don't fully understand how it works, but I've heard that the game calculates how full a settlement is by how many polygons it's having to render in the area. So by dropping a bunch of guns on the ground (which have really complex models with a lot of polygons), for some reason they don't get added to the build limit, but when you use the workshop mode to store them, the game sees all these things disappearing and gets tricked into thinking you're removing things you've built, and starts subtracting them from the build limit. The only real limit to how much you can build is the point at which your PC crashes from having too many things to process, and the "build limit" is there to stop you from getting anywhere near that point and making the game unstable. So as long as you're careful not to abuse it too much, you can build quite a bit past the limit (especially if you have a beefy PC) without running into too many issues.
The clutter is so naturally done - it feels like a real home that you could go and see. Fantastic job! Best settlement build I have ever seen. Hopefully Bethesda hires you one day..
This is one of those videos that stops feeling like a youtube video and ends up feeling like a testament to human will and spirit. This is genuinely inspiring.
This is quite possibly the best settlement I have ever seen. The amount of detail, lore and effort is utterly insane, I dont have the words for it. And then theres the production and editing of the video, funny and entertaining all the way through! You are seriously underrated, I wish you all the best! :)
I mean I always wanted to go this far but what stops me is I don’t really ever see a point especially since I’m a I get bored after I play for 90 hours then don’t come back for a year and make another character.
Don't worry that's how it supposed to look like as a canon. It's in a middle of nowhere, there is no reason to build big city there, you won't have enough traffic to support business in such location.
@elijahdrake9113 Give it a whirl and just play until you lose interest in it. You probably won't make it this far, but if you go as far as you can you might enjoy it more than you think or be surprised how much fun just starting a project can be
Vids like this make me realise my problem: perfectionism and wanting every detail to look perfect. This shows that the wasteland of the fallout universe isnt perfect. And in its imperfection shows its own perfect showcase of a settlement.
I know it's been a long time since the video was released but this... this is incredible. This is better than any settlement that Bethesda created for Fallout 4. This Sanctuary makes me want to explore it so much, talk to people in it, and never leave. This is the type of settlements I would like to see in 3D Fallout games
@@cosmic-creepers9207 he said how in the first 2 or so minutes. he dropped weapons and then stored them in the workshop. the bigger the weapon the more space it free's. how and why does this glitch work? i have no clue
@@frostisvar1365 also very late reply...... does that glitch still work after the recent update? I didn't search for any evidence otherwise since I understood it was primarily for adding content and not correcting bugs but I could very well be wrong
Man that is exactly what I want to see for Fallout 5: To build a REAL settlement, build something big and amazing, rebuild civilization and create a place for the people of the wasteland! Amazing job, love it.
The problem will be balancing the Story telling-fallout, the RPG-fallout, the Shooter-fallout, and the Settlement Building-fallout in a single game. FO4 (the only one that has building) has a poorly written story, and the RPG elements are diddly squat. FNV's level of writing and skill dialogue mechanics, with FO4 settlements and graphics would be a banger
@@elrusito5034 FO3 had no building, and a very bad story-line (that, before the first expansion, ended with you having to sacrifice yourself inside a radiated place even if you had a supermutant friend immune to it). RPG elements were also quite basic, though maybe better than in FO4.
Wow.... I have played fallout 4 for countless hours (2000+) and i have never seen somthing so beautiful somthing so complex built from the ground up with no mods. This is a true work of art and im truely amazed i wish i came across this earlier. I really love the way you presented this, the way you pieced it all together the editing was awesome. I rarely leave comments but i really think this video deserves one. truely amazing work
You probably won't read comments anymore, but I say this anyway. This has got to be the most authentic and lore friendly settlement build I've ever come across! The attention to detail is stunning and I cannot even imagine the amount of time and effort that must have gone in to making this settlement. Liked and subbed. Greetings from the Netherlands.
@@OrangeSqueasyhonest question here, maybe you should make a build WITH mods? Probably with a new character or something as I kinda doubt you’d be willing to mod your survival play through
I love how everything looks and matches the apocalyptic aesthetic while still feeling lived in. The use of the space and thought out clutter is really impressive. I just recently got back into building more in the game and this definitely inspired me
By far one of the best, if not THE best builds for Sanctuary! To do this in game, without mods, without a kit, is insane to me. I'm gobsmacked. The editing for entering Sole's old home is a kick to the gut, so thanks. Regardless, this is absolutely gorgeous, thank you so much for showing it to us! Especially loved the little commercial bits lol.
The efforts, the explanations as to how everything was achieved, the pc specs, all questions covered and answered, the insane creativity. This build took so much time and so did the video. Amazing work homie.
The fact that you didn't use mods, creation club or console commands makes this so much more impressive! So creative, I never thought this was possible in vanilla Sanctuary.
@@drunkenmmamaster419 i've been copying this guys build for about 3 weeks now and i can tell you everything so for is 100 percent authentic. None of the materials are mods and to make money to keep buying supplies from traders i just sell purified water. I have a settlement that has 9 big water machines just making nonstop purified water and i sell that shit for 1000s of caps every drop off to town. It is 100 percent real. Just takes Caps and patience.
This is incredible. Not just the build (which is absolutely amazing), but the vod itself is really well done. the cuts, the sounds. Its nostalgic and inspiring.
This is hands down the best settlement build i have ever seen. It is simply amazing and differs from other builds i have seen in that it has both functionality and is aesthetically pleasing to look at. I absolutely love the verticality of the bridges, treehouse, and walkways. Im also a very big fan of how every section of the city has some sort of use instead of being a random mish-mash of building pieces. I love how you manage to reuse assets such as the train cars and they still feel new and not overused. Im also a very big fan of how you manage to somehow find the perfect balance between robot settlers and real settlers. I don't think that I saw about 1 robot for every 2 or 3 settlers. I also loved the strategic defenses. I love the big walls, and how there was guard posts everywhere. I also loved how there didn't seem to be a crazy amount of turrets, but at the same time there seemed to be enough turrets to defend the settlement. I loved how spread out they seemed. Lastly, I absolutely love the editing of the video. This is probably the only settlement tour I've ever sat and watched fully. The music used absolutely captured the aesthetic and vibe of not only the settlement, but the fallout genre itself. I love how the text isn't too big or small, and I love how whenever you found qn inspiration from a group or location in game, you would put an image of the location on screen. Your explanations of the practicality and reasoning for buildings is absolutely perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better settlement tour video!
You built this in entirety without mods and you've managed to blow a lot of modded builds right outta the water. I like to build too but I've never actually finished one to date. I'm capable of building fantastic things, but I take hours to build one small building and get everything set up how I like it and before that I'm taking forever and a day to figure out what to build where. Seeing this gave me hope that I'll eventually finish out my sanctuary I'm working on currently. I may even start posting updates every time I finish out a build just to keep myself accountable. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and others who might have been hitting a block.
He didn't build this without mods. There are strict object caps in vanilla that this build clearly exceeds, it uses walls/structures that aren't available in vanilla, and vanilla doesn't allow you to snap different types of walls together this cleanly/densely.
@@justinsherman9350 oh great the casuals are in my videos again. Strict object caps I’m begging you to read the description or pinned comment or 1:07. Walls/structures aren’t available in vanilla, I bet you, you can’t timestamp anything. “Vanilla doesn’t allow you to snap” I bet you never heard of pillar glitching, which means you don’t actually know what you are talking about. Also find a way to refute 1:42
@Justin Sherman He never said he did it without the DLCs. And there is a way to get unlimited space for your settlements. Just put items from your inventory into the Workbench, take them back out, drop them on the ground, then store them. If you do this with guns it'll drop your settlement space cap down.
It’s honestly crazy what people can do with this settlement building. It’s like an art form making this kind of stuff. I wish I had half the imagination and patience for something like this.
Insane. It feel so warm and comforting. Could stay here with a good view on a rocking chair listening to some good old crooners, enjoying civilization taking back its place in the Commonwealth.
This has to be the single most impressive feat I’ve ever seen in this game. I’ve seen a lot of really cool building videos showcasing settlements and stuff, but those guys typically use mods in the process. Nothing wrong with that, but the fact that you were able to create a settlement rivaling if not surpassing theirs in size and complexity using no mods is very impressive. Hats off to you sir, great build.
@@alkon8032oops I didn't see this. Some animations they will just do naturally if they are not assigned a job. The relay dish from the institute teleporter and the scavenger stations make them do the weld animation. If you also build a break time light then NPCS will do animations nearby. I also command companions to do animations throughout the tour.
What you've done here is... Incredible, so many little details that make the entire settlement feel so alive... The mailboxes especially, it's incredible to see, incredible work!
This build legit inspired my Sanctuary. I could never put this much thought into linking buildings together the way you do but I'm honestly happy with how my settlement is turning out
@@OrangeSqueasy What is with the damn build limit? I built one damn house and now I can't continue building because of the building limit. I don't want to use mods because of the achievements (PS5)
Me saying I’m impressed is an understatement. This is by far the most impressive hand placed build I’ve ever seen. And not to mention ALL VANILLA!!!!! The attention to detail knows no bounds. You have inspired me to do the same and you have a new subscriber.
this is how I like to imagine my end game character lives like after I'm done playing, seriously I'm impressed by the crazy amount of effort you put in this!
I really liked how this mimicked what a town made from salvage would really look like in a post apocalyptic landscape especially since lore wise these people really wouldn’t have much aesthetic architecture knowledge meaning it would just be slapped together and look like chaos.
I made the huge island my main base, but this is incredible. When it takes 5 minutes just to place a building I can imagine the time this took. Well done.
I was looking up settlement builds to get inspired to build something for sanctuary. I found your video and I was completely daunted at the fact of how much was put into it with the insane level of detail and intricacies this project has. Everything looked like it was made with a lot of care and love, meanwhile I’m here wondering how do I even start to make something as cool as this. I think what ended up really reassuring me to build something like this was when you stated it just started from working on the original home the sole survivor lived in. This build is f*cking awesome.
Thank you! But yes I highly recommend at least starting with a singular point to focus on for your builds. It helps to have a good starting base to spread out in layers, so you have something to always come back to.
I love this so much, it actually feels like a true city, a place where the people are truly rebuilding a society, all the details and different sections is just awesome!
Most YTers that make FO4 settlements fix the buildings, build up a few decorations and some fences and add some decorations here and there. Orange Squeasy: Builds an entire multi level shanty town filled with so much clutter that would make an antique dealer faint. It is amazing how many decorations the devs put in the game just for crazy builders like this guy. I could never do anything like this, but i enjoy watching other people's fantastic creations in FO4. TY for this amazing video and time you put into making it all!
Congratulations, amazing settlement so full of details, and also very clever use of props and management of space. You are awesome ! Hope to see more like this ;)
Bro, I envy not only this masterpiece of a settlement you created, but also your patience for having built it with no mods and in survivel mode. I'm a survival mode player myself, so I know how difficult it is. Congratulations!

I am in absolute awe of your build mate. What you have managed to achieve on vanilla settings is incredible, and the time this must have taken is an achievement in itself. Thank you for the tour and for sharing it with everyone - just fantastic!
The level of detail, the commitment to this creation is impressive, Diamond City is looking miserable compared to this absolute masterpiece ! Props for the hard work this is insane !!

I have a crap ton of questions, do you prefer if I post them here or on your reddit post? Settlement Building/General: 1). I know you didn’t use mods, but did you use creation club (skins, decor, etc)? 2). @@OrangeSqueasy Alright cool, It's just edited into the previous post. Also, brilliant build and showcase as well as great editing. I find your level of dedication and detail unfathomable. Hopefully, both retirement and life are good to you. I believe this showcase will beat 1 million views.
1) I did not use Creation club, but a vault build im working on does since many CC items are 'clean' which fits the vault aesthetic. 2) Build re-floor/roof/walls first! It is very much like an onion, with many layers. Theres tutorials here on youtube on rebuilding the houses 3) Those beams are actually metal poles, and the diagonal pieces are ball ramps, both found in the contraptions DLC 4) prob not. I think the best thing you can do is look up tutorials on circular building, thats what I ended up doing. Its not something i'd attempt again since it was more time consuming and frustrating than anything else 5)Settler pathing in general is something I tend to focus on, as I observe where settlers walk to, and often times move buildings just so they dont bump into them. Sanctuary in particular is rather easy; just keep the actual road as clear as possible. Settlers will always be stupid tho. There is kind of a difference between PC & Console in that regard but thats alot to go into. 6) So that specific instance you timestamped are the railroad faction, where they will appear in your settlement to help you into the institute. They will stick by whereever you build the actual platform, however I stored it so they simply stay put until you build it again. 7) That is a mixture of concrete and campfire. In fact it was done with somehting called 'campfire' glitch where you can sink structural objects onto other structural objects. Decor: 1) Ammo Crates are actually 5mm. You can drop bundles of 5mm ammo on the ground and they will act as crates. 2)Not sure what you mean by repel each other, I've never had that happen even in my console days 3)Hay Bale Stacks are from Nuka World DLC. 4) That terminal along with the Radar Dish are from the actual Institute Teleporter Quest. You can make copies around your setttlements while that quest is active. 5) Zambonis and cars you can find around the commonwealth, you can push them by dropping weapons and grabbing them to push the cars. Closest zamboni is near museum of freedom 6) Glitched workstations are done with rug and pillar glitching 7) Baskets, crates, and bins are found everywhere in the commonwealth, you just have to grab and walk back to your settlement yourselrf 8)Radar dish (see 4) ), Rocket is from Nuka World DLC 9) Theres quite a bit, but it from the looks of it it sounds like you havent experience much of the DLCs so I reccommend enjoying the game first before deep diving too much on the building aspect. Let me know if you have any more questions

That must have been taken so long And I like how you build the wires all over the place like you did at your egrets arena build! I think it is really somthing fresh because must builders try to hide the wires
Thank you! Sanctuary has always been the playground for me to test ideas from previous or upcoming builds as well as other builder's ideas so like Rome it wasn't built in a day. Larger builds you just gotta plan layers so it feels somewhat complete at any time. Appreciate you noticing the wires, I'm always trying to apply ideas that you don't normally see in vanilla builds

Do you have to drop them near the barrier border? Or can you drop them anywhere to increase the limit
@@garethmcguinness377 Just drop a gun only the ground, hover over it and then store it in the workshop from there
I don't fully understand how it works, but I've heard that the game calculates how full a settlement is by how many polygons it's having to render in the area.

Seeing this gave me hope that I'll eventually finish out my sanctuary I'm working on currently. I may even start posting updates every time I finish out a build just to keep myself accountable. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and others who might have been hitting a block.

Theres tutorials here on youtube on rebuilding the houses
3) Those beams are actually metal poles, and the diagonal pieces are ball ramps, both found in the contraptions DLC
4) prob not. I think the best thing you can do is look up tutorials on circular building, thats what I ended up doing. Its not something i'd attempt again since it was more time consuming and frustrating than anything else
5)Settler pathing in general is something I tend to focus on, as I observe where settlers walk to, and often times move buildings just so they dont bump into them.
Decor:
1) Ammo Crates are actually 5mm. You can drop bundles of 5mm ammo on the ground and they will act as crates.
2)Not sure what you mean by repel each other, I've never had that happen even in my console days
3)Hay Bale Stacks are from Nuka World DLC.
4) That terminal along with the Radar Dish are from the actual Institute Teleporter Quest. You can make copies around your setttlements while that quest is active.
5) Zambonis and cars you can find around the commonwealth, you can push them by dropping weapons and grabbing them to push the cars. Closest zamboni is near museum of freedom
6) Glitched workstations are done with rug and pillar glitching
7) Baskets, crates, and bins are found everywhere in the commonwealth, you just have to grab and walk back to your settlement yourselrf
8)Radar dish (see 4) ), Rocket is from Nuka World DLC
9) Theres quite a bit, but it from the looks of it it sounds like you havent experience much of the DLCs so I reccommend enjoying the game first before deep diving too much on the building aspect.
Let me know if you have any more questions

Thank you so much! truly couldn't have done it with y'all :')
very grateful to have a system that can handle some extra stuff, good news is good hardware to handle Fo4's janky system is becoming cheaper as the years go by
This is just astonishing. I saw the modded Sanctuary build, but damn... This is top notch of everything i saw in four years from builders.
Dude, you're freaking talented! Like, this must have taken hours of in game time and attention to detail that I don't even think I have seen anyone show. You should get hired at a video game studio because this makes for one hell of a resume.
This settlement is absolutely next level. So much depth and visual interest going on here. It's really a work of art my friend.
Loved the vault tec construction area complete with custom crane and that boat turned out fantastic.
Top notch! 👏 👏 👏
Great job this deserves number 1 settlement award! This is amazing makes me wanna try and build up a settlement!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE.
Absolutely has to be the best F4 content I've ever seen. Your work is a masterpiece of love to the game, and I love it so much. THANK YOU. I hope this was much more therapeutic than it was tedious.
Thanks for the great tour, too. I really loved your home, especially, of course - was really hoping you'd done something special there. Your commentary was amazing. I'd love to do even just a tenth of this some day ... but mostly now just happy to live vicariously through your video.
THANK YOU, again.
What gets me is EVERYWHERE has been decorated. Some insane dedication for the build
I hope that we get big settlements like this one in Fallout 5 when it finally comes. Big settlements gives more opportunity for lore and its easier to handle than a bunch of tiny ones.
Fallout 5 n'existe pas pour linstant la suite est fallout 76 😉 du moin a se que je sache
@@pokyb_yt_officiel he never said it existed
@@pokyb_yt_officielyou mean prequel
I‘m deeply impressed.. and so satisfied by watching this. Incredibly detailed work, keep it up!
this is by far the best settlement build I have seen
i love that every part of the game and every video about the game is done with passion
I usually watch these on my big screen smart tv and sometimes use the remote to drop a like, but I just had to get on my phone to say how awesome this build is. Truly immersive and clever building with astonishing use of all the space. I think I actually stumbled across this build a couple months ago and didn’t get a chance to watch it more than a minute because I figured I could watch it later, but it must have gotten taken down. I’m glad it found its way back into my suggested videos!
It was taken down due to copyright music but im glad my new version is finding its way to previous viewers!
Oh my god this is insane!
Bethesda must see this and hire you, awesome work!
fr
Much better than my wooden cube with a single light bulb.
Me: 2024 just looking for some tips for my base and stumble on this video and… OMG! This level of detail was only in my dreams and even at that I didn’t imagine this level of detail and creativity! It looks so messy but is perfect at the same time, everything feels natural yet seems like every room has its own personality! Like the characters in the town had a chance to decorate and live in them.
Just wow! Absolutely inspiring!
Thank you! I did make a video on actual tips if that helps
Такого грандиозного поселения ещё не видел. Сам являюсь фанатом строительства в фалауте 4. Имеются огромные поселения но это конечно больше. Восхищаюсь этим творением. Желаю удачи.
incredible, I love the lore friendly vibe and can't imagine how long this took to decorate. surely you had at least the "place everywhere" mod?
Thanks. I don’t use mods tho just rug and pillar glitching
and no settlement build limit mod

@@OrangeSqueasy excuse the shit out of me?? Sorry... I'm a day one fan of Fallout... Played thousands of hours.. so much I know about the games.. but not once have I ever heard this. You may have just talked me into spending a few thousand more hours on it. Lol thank you SIR. If I did UA-cam vids, if share some of my builds with you. But I'm a console player, pc too pricey for me to justify. Thanks to you I have a new secret weapon for Fallout😅🤘
Obviously this settlement doesn't need our help 😂
Some punkass settler will still randomly get nabbed despite everything
Also no need to mark it on the map, it covers basically the whole north section LMAO
My respects to you, sir. This is spectacular. My settlements are just random shacks thrown together because I cannot be arsed spending too long building anything.
Man. This is so damn impressive. Let's pray Starfield allows us to do something like this, and hopefully even more! But in space! lol
This looks better than Night City. Great work.
And here’s me really proud that I’ve built 5 beds 3 water pumps and added a book shelf to my house 😂😂😂 this is amazing
never play fallout, and just got fallout4 video yesterday now i encounter this and only 1 word can describe it
AMAZING!
how you decor it and totally change the vibes truly awesome
Wow this is just amazing! Really great editing, it is very interesting to see how it looked before your build. I personally never really build at sanctary because I always am so overwhelmed by its size. I can't belive you drag something all the way from graygarden to sanctuary. That must have been taken so long
And I like how you build the wires all over the place like you did at your egrets arena build!
Это просто великолепно, сенчуари мне было сложно застроить, так чтоб не было пустых мест, а тут просто ВСЕ застроино, уважение тебе братан
Не верится что без модов
I think Bethesda would have a stroke if they saw what one person could accomplish over their entire settlement dev team. Would it kill them to take some cues from their community?
