Personally I build out Sanctuary hills 100%, then I do Red Rocket as the intersection point for all my caravans. Every other settlement is trade routed to Red Rocket, and red rocket is trade routed to Sanctuary. Means there’s almost always activity but I don’t have to worry about actually supporting a population in a tiny place like Red Rocket.
There is a mod that completely fixes up Red Rocket (and some other settlements) that prevents you from scrapping the whole building. Though still need to be careful since foundations and floors can still be scrapped.
its an addon to scrap everything called not quite everything when you install it you pick which items you want removed it also stops you from deleting the foundations in sanctuary and you can set it to scrap everything but the main building of the red rockets if used with the salvage robot that does it for you they can clean up those area in about 15 mins
@@maxrander0101Unfortunately, installing Automatron DLC currently brakes the game at launch (can't even get to the menu) and makes it unplayable. The workaround is to uninstall the entire game and reinstall without the Automatron DLC. Which means no salvage robots at this time until they fix the issue.
Yup. My thought as well. It's not cover if it explodes. Tactically speaking, if you were on the roof shooting down, the exploding vehicles could be useful for large or overpowered raids.
I'd recommend downloading "Scrap (not quite) Everything." It's a configurable addon to Scrap Everything that disables scrapping for certain structures. For example: The Red Rocket building.
If you’re playing on Console, specifically XB1/S/X, Scrap That Settlement works really well! Only downside is having to install DLC specific addons and addons to scrap enemy bodies, but it does come with the ability to scrap pre placed skeletons and bodies.

Great remodel! I’d feel a bit nervous having those vehicles scattered around. Unless you get lucky and have no one around when they blow up, I tend to scrap them.
I discovered that a portion of the roof is perfectly flat, and most concrete walls clip in to the sloped part. Ended up with a weird bunker on top of a gas station.
Do you plan to make more videos like this? I love seeing the creativity in real time like this. No one shows them actually building these settlements, it’s always the finished product. I think you may have something here.
If you’re worried about scrapping everything, there’s a few mods that mod the mods, scrap everything has scrap (not quiet) everything, where it stops the scrapping of buildings and floors, but still keeps the ability to scrap bushes and such.

Lol ye
I like to use red rocket truck stop as a sort of playerhome cause of how small it is
Holy shit, i thought i found a channel who loves settlement building as much as I do...And I did, but ALSO a new RIMWORLD UA-camR WOOOOOOO
You might like Orange Squesy's settlement building tips. There are ways to get closer placements of walls, create free-floating or sunken items, and even no-clip decorations
I can't stop comming back to this game! It's a bit dated now but it still has a lot of fun to offer.
I would morphed the wall to go back into the garage. Throw yourself a junk gate somewhere and turn the garage into a sign-in area where it’s almost like a refugee settlement
So some people might not tho this but at trudy place if you don't kill the guy and his bodyguard when you first get and you choose the peaceful option the guy will stay there and actually protect trudy so raiders won't spawn in
Yeah that was ruined when stupid Preston started randomly attacking Trudy the second time I went there to buy stuff and they wouldn't stop trying to attack me so I had to kill both of them and got rid of Preston as a companion and went back to using codsworth
@@louisGauto 🤣 yea sometimes dogmeat would give me trouble with certain encounters because since he walks forward the npcs think I'm attacking them and I gotta shoot kill everyone and dogmeat will just look at me with his tongue sticking out 😂🤣
You won me over with tidiness and the music from Onett. Gotta support my Earthbound fam.
there is a mod called “move that workbench.” move it and scrap that debris for the ocd win🤙
Thanks for the suggestion :)
Earthbound music! I like you.
I personally hate the building settlements part of Fallout and I would rather die than do it, but it's honestly pretty cool watching people do it, something relaxing to it.
john "renovation" fallout
Loved this video man! I love all of your commentary. It’s cool hearing your thoughts on things because we think alike 😂 you’ve got a new sub for sure
Your background song choice made me happy
Great remodel! I’d feel a bit nervous having those vehicles scattered around. Unless you get lucky and have no one around when they blow up, I tend to scrap them.
I almost always put the Robot Workbench under the forward overhang.
Same.
Loved the build section, will def watch more of your videos :D
love the music
Glad you enjoyed! All tracks linked in description by order used.
This video is so good, please continue making more!
I love the ideas you have in this video I'm going to use some of it from you on my next play through ❤
Thats awesome! 💜
If you’re worried about scrapping everything, there’s a few mods that mod the mods, scrap everything has scrap (not quiet) everything, where it stops the scrapping of buildings and floors, but still keeps the ability to scrap bushes and such.
This video is PERFECT for my second monitor
