She was searching for a 'frontliner' because as strong as mages can be they have pitfalls like needing to charge spells and magic resistant enemies (as showcased by the dragon and magic bouncing off him). Real battles aren't just about who's power level number is bigger - you should watch hunter x hunter it really shows well there.
Close quarter combat is the biggest disadvantage with Mages. Also some creatures are resistant to magic. Frieren is the strongest but she still needs a very capable party
This episode gave goosebumps to many people due to the ending line, but it gets lost in translation. The demon recalls Frieren with "Sousou no Frieren", which is the name of the story in japanese. "Sousou" is literally a sort of mourning ritual or funeral procession, it's not exact because western funeral rituals are different. The whole story is Frieren remembering her lost friends, mourning them. So even though in english it doesn't evoke the same thing, "Funeral Frieren" could be one of the name translations, and also her moniker given by the demons due to how many dead she leaves behind.
Fun tidbit: when freiren killed the first demon and said “that’s one down” she used ippiki instead of hitori to count, which is what they use to count animals I believe. She literally doesn’t see them as people, hence why she doesn’t use hitori when counting them.
Thank you! That’s literally how you count small animals in Japanese, a typical sign that Frieren thinks of them as mere beasts. It's about a different show but in JJK Jogo uses "hitori", "hutari" and "sannin" as he burns people one ofter another. That's the Japanese terms for counting humans.
"Ippiki(一匹)" is a unit used to refer to creatures ranging in size from insects to dogs and cats, and is not used for large mammals such as horses ,cows and bears. When counting horses and cows, we use "ittou(一頭)".
The series hasn’t changed so much as it has shown it’s other side. A fun note the japanese title actually has to possible meanings. Sousou no Frieren can be read as Frieren at the Funeral a title sounding somber and melancholic, but it can also be read as Frieren who brings the funeral or as the subtitles phrase it Frieren the Slayer being the title the demons call her for how many demons she has killed. The series is both melancholic but also a story of action adventure. Both are core parts of the series and this arc is where we start to really see the other side.
@@ineedmorecarrots6063Is a skeleton a human? No, a skeleton WAS a human, but now it's a skeleton. Is a soul a human? Now we're getting into levels of philosophy that really shouldn't be argued over a text format.
@@ineedmorecarrots6063You're kidding right? When you say something about the past, you automatically have to use past tense, “was” as the past tense of “is” doesn’t specify what part of the sentence is past tense, just that the sentence itself is. Therefore, “Flamme was human” is correct because this character is being referred to in reference to their mortality and how they are now presently dead. The wording would have ALSO been correct if the scenario you sarcastically proposed was the case and “Flamme was human” because they “no longer are”.
The demons don't need the barrier lowered to escape. They can dip anytime. They want to have the Graf lower the barrier so Aura's whole army can invade without resistance. Because of Flamme, the town's barrier is basically strong enough to kill any demon on contact if they aren't invited in.
Flamme was human. She died centuries and centuries ago, so she's passed into legend. At some point Frieren remarked that she's probably the only person in the whole world who remembers Flamme's face. Though it hasn't been mentioned, the implication so far is that Flamme was never defeated and she simply died of old age.
Fun fact: the names in this series come from the German language and have interesting meanings for example, Frieren mean freeze/be cold, Stark mean strong, Himmel mean heaven or Lügner mean liar
Frieren killed most demons because she started doing that even centuries before Himel and his party pulled up:) most of her magic is whatever it is doing + flavour lethal to demons imbued, that's why to Fern its know as 'ordinary offensive spell' until a demons tastes it
In Japanese Lugner said "Sousou no Frieren" (translated here as Frieren the Slayer, and somebody else already explained the meanings) and the manga's name, in japanese, is: Sousou No Frieren
Gotta remember that Stark's only fought 1 actual battle where he could've died, which was with the dragon, and he only did that cuz he had backup from op mage. So being super scared having to fight strong enemies to the death without backup is pretty normal.
The thing you're getting confused with is that there's 7 Sages of *Destruction* which Aura is part of while Qual was the Sage of *Corruption* not being part of those 7 Some help with the names: Flamme is pronounced "Fla-meh" and Aura something akin to "Ouch" but instead of the "ch" you add a "ra"
The name of this episode is the same as original japanese title of this series (Sousou no Frieren) and it has a double meaning. It can mean Frieren at the funeral, which shouldn't need explaining, but it can also mean Frieren, the Funeral-bringer (the intended meaning for this episode, which was translated in this case as Frieren the Slayer).
I'm an anime-only and when I commented about the Japanese tytle "Sousou no Frieren" meaning "Frieren the funerary", someone immediately commented me back. I knew what they meant the second I finished this episode. As they said, sousou (葬送) stand out of two letters, 葬 meaning funeral and 送 meaning to send. Like English, to "send off" means two different things: one being giving a proper goodbye to your loved one and the other being slaying the foe. So "Frieren the Slayer" is one perfect translation of her name, at least from the demons' perspectives.
8:35 The Duke established in the last episode that he only invited them in to kill them himself as revenge for his son's death against Aura ten years earlier, seeking to kill them when they had no backup. He let himself be swayed a bit shortly after, but the original plan was always to trick them like they wanted to trick him.
to understand Frieren you need to understand Goblin Slayer and the Doom Slayer. they are both at their hapyest when killing Goblind and Demons. Frieren has the same relationship with her worlds demons.
@@GOTGames To clarify, a Hero is someone sent by the ruler of a nation to penetrate enemy lines, sometimes quietly, but often loudly. They take out Demon King, all the Generals. They destroy the oppositions leadership. That's assassin behavior. Better described in the opening episode of Maoyu.
The anime showed that good warriors in this world are afraid not of a "stronger then them" entities, but of "strong" entities, so if Eisen is afraid of Stark it does not immediatedly mean Stark is stronger then Eisen, just that Stark is strong. About the powersystem as a whole I would refrain from spoilers, but I can assure you it is handled carefully and you can get a good idea as soon as the next episode (or episode 10).
I really appreciate the genuineness of your reactions to different anime shows. You're one of my favorite anime reactors out there. Keep up the good work!
There are 7 Sages of Destruction who work under the Demon King. Aura is one on them. Qual, the demon who was sealed and killed earlier, is the Elder Sage of “Corruption” which is not part of the Sages of “Destruction.” Regardless, all of them are part of the Demon King’s army.
4:34 I'm not actually completely sure, but if I had to guess, it could be a few things. The first is that they're just imitating the on screen onomatopoeia for the eating scenes. I've read a lot of manga, and they do use the "om nom nom" one for eating scenes a lot. Could also be that the director felt the scene was too awkward and quiet without them. Director, sound designers and animators could want to use them to keep things in general from being too heavy, and the silly cartoon eating sounds help keep the mood lighter. Could just be an acting decision, the actors go to a line read or get a script or see some incomplete animation in the recording booth and decide the silly eating sounds suit the character, though that one feels less likely. Could also be a tradition in the Japanese animation industry. Like how using the Wilhelm scream is in film. I know something similar happens with anime food, because one show drew cabbages so badly that it became a bit of a rule for anime food to always look really good on screen. Like, that's not some incidental thing that just happens because it's anime, it's something studios go out of their way to specifically do. They expect Graf Granat to give up the secrets of the barrier because they literally have no concept of empathy. It's completely alien to them to genuinely care about someone else, so they're thinking that, out of self preservation, to stop any torture and death for himself, Granat will cave to their demands. They can certainly see non-demons protecting others, and planning around it, but it's not in their nature to think that way, so they'll still fall back on their baseline assumptions from being demons. It's what they would do in Granat's shoes, and while they can logically work out that it's not how humans work, it's another thing entirely to assume someone would let themselves be tortured to death to protect a town of strangers, at least for a demon. Frieren's so goddamned cool.
I was really looking forward to your reaction to the opening scene of this episode, because I wanted to see if I was the only one. Nothing in this anime so far had prepared me for Frieren casually popping this guy's head. Like a totally different series. I was glad to see you reacting the same way.
Wow, so soon, its seems like only yesterday that ep7 reaction was released. Looks like the excitement is getting to Luke! Soon you will start joining us on Frieren Fridays!
I'm super late to your channel but loving your Frieren reactions. My german husband and I really loved this series too. The names are always pretty fun through the whole thing. You seem surprised that Frieren killed more demons than anyone else, but when you remember who all of her companions have been, she has out lived all of them. Even Eisen (Iron) is getting old and can't fight seriously anymore. Flamme (Flame), Himmel (Sky/Heaven), and Heiter (cheerful) were all human.
It is said that many people realised at this point the other meaning of Frieren of the funeral - Sousou no Frieren. 葬送のフリーレン can be translated as "Frieren at the Funeral" but also as "Frieren who sends [one] to [their] funeral".
The next few episodes are absolutely freaking fire, my dude. Absolute fire. Like unbelievable we got these the same week we got those crazy JJK episodes.
The thing I like about this episode is it change the pace of the show which so shock for literally everyone. we spend 7 episode with Frieren goofing around, and suddenly when she sees a demon, she turn into a cold blooded killer. It feels so cool when she do it so casually
in japan this anime is literally called "sousou no frieren" (frieren the slayer) and i dont know why the english title is frieren:towards journey's end
Sousou no Frieren, title drop let's gooo! I felt so Shingeki no Kyojined when I understood it. Other people already explained it much better, so I'll just add that in French (my language) it's "Frieren la Fossoyeuse" (the Gravedigger) which is I think very fitting and cool, although it sounds pretty bad in english imo
I suspect the reason Frieren might not have been "stronger" than Himmel, but likely better at attacking lots of enemies at once. Frieren might have been able to blow through an army of weaker enemies, but not gone toe-to-toe with the Demon King, for example. I am not sure if Stark is stronger than Eisen, his master. But he got strong enough that he spooked Eisen while fighting, to the point he instinctively counter-attacked at full power when they were supposed to be sparing. Eisen remarked that Stark would become a incredible warrior (not that he was yet, necessarily).
28:20 she's not the strongest per se, she's just been killing demons for over a thousand years, which makes her kill demons more than anyone else in recorded history. Then again, we may assume she goes Leeroy Jenkins whenever her party faces a demon.
She is not killing demons for 1000 years (at least publicly) . . . . . When Aura meets Frieren, Aura states in his monologue that she thinks Frieren is only 100 years old, only to realize later on that Frieren is 1000+ years old. Frieren only started killing demons (started to become infamous with the demons) during her adventure with the hero's party. Remember, she is living 90% of her entire life in incognito.
I guess it's kinda like the Lord of the Rings if you started the movie in the Shire rather than with Galadriel's exposition. The story moves back and forth between somber and epic adventure.
The excitement get him. Less than a day ago, I just watched previous ep reaction. Can't wait for next 😎 When she says she's stronger, when she says Stark and Fern are stronger...when Frieren says something like these, that speaks volume, it comes from experience so it'll be more believable
Qual (the guy in stone) was a powerful demon mage, but not one of the 7. Aura is the first of the 7 we've met. The ending of this episode is not something they translated well and is a pun on the name of the series. The show is called "sousou no frieren". "sousou" = "funeral(s)", "no" = " 's ", so the name of the show is: Frieren of the funerals [attender there of]. In this episode we find out it's actually sousou no frieren - Frieren of the funerals [cause there of]. So that the "Frieren beyond journey's end" and "Frieren the slayer" are the same poor translation of the same Japanese phrase, and everyone was just assuming the wrong meaning up until now. That makes it hit much harder in Japanese. Frieren's master is Flamme [FLA-MAY]. Think French when pronouncing. She was human. As for whether Frieren is the strongest, you'll just have to wait and see.
I've seen a lot of reactions to this show, and you are one of the most interesting. Especially because you're not blinded by stereotypes. Kudos. Can't wait for your next reactions.

I mean, on the one hand, she was part of the party that defeated the Demon King but, well, that was in a party, and I can't imagine it was an easy fight. Now there's just her by herself, and if there's one thing D&D has taught me it's that I wouldn't like to try a boss fight by myself. As to Frieren having killed more demons than anyone else, I look at it this way: Flamme was human, so only had a human lifespan, ditto the rest of the party. Frieren has had a thousand years so far to rack up the kills. On a different note, I love the step-change this episode with Frieren. We knew she was strong previously, but I just enjoy how she goes from this sort of carefree eccentric to stone cold as she switches modes. It's a different side of her I enjoy... gap-moe and all that possibly.
Everyone in the Hero's Party was all strong if not strongest. Himmel was what we call Paladin. Not much is revealed about his abilities but he was durable and fast and dealed lot of damage like Slaying a greater demon in one strike. The Priest was one of the strongest healers and user of holy magic, a type of magic normal mages cannot use. Frieren can never use holy magic no matter how much she trains. So using the goddesses power is a feat to itself. Dwarf guy is what is called a Worrior. Hardiest guy, what we call a tank. He fell from 100 meters height by a dragon and had no injury, got attacked by 6 spears and all broke, man doesnt need a shield he is THE SHIELD. And did use mostly single huge fatal attack. Stark adapts similar, like how we saw him oneshot a dragon with the move "Lighting Strike". A fast single hit attack with no regards to defence. But when you have hard body who needs defence. So here we cant really say who was the strongest among the four because all of them were best at different type of things.
Seven Sages of Destruction - are strong opponents with devastating abilities. Even if you manage to kill one it does not mean you are able to kill others ( you can die in one shot because their abilities are bad match for you)
I currently liken her new adventure and party to her finally taking the for front and becoming the hero. With Himmel, she was a part of the Hero's Party. But now, as she tries to understand Himmel and all the things he taught here in those 10 years they traveled she is becoming the Hero Frieren with Fern and Stark as her Hero's Party.
To really differentiate demons from humans aside from being overly detached from human logic is that they really leave nothing behind after death except from the grand magic they proudly develop and display.
Zoltrak, as used by Fern and Frieren is Ordinary Offensive Magic, in the same way that a Kick from Bruce Lee is just a Kick. It's something simple, but taken and practiced and honed to an absurd degree of perfection, to the point where calling it by its name seems wrong.
Great reactions as always!!! Love all the questions this amazing episode has left you with, because you'll have your answers soon enough >:) On a side note, since you’ve gotten a good grasp of the story now, I thought you should know YOASOBI /just/ released their official English ver of Yuusha (officially titled “The Brave” now). If you ever feel like reacting to it with the official english lyrics I’d love to see it!!
It is Zoltraak. Imagine the same dodge ball being thrown by two people: a professional handball player and you. Now you may throw a pretty fast ball, but I’d still rather get hit by it than one thrown by the pro.
It was explained in episode 4 that humanity studied and incorporated zoltraak into their magical system during the 80 years that Qual was sealed, and that in the anime's current time, it is a common spell, meaning that when Qual created it, it was a advanced spell, which means that the magic system evolves over time, such as the emergence of new, more powerful defensive spells. Episode 8 suggests to us that Frieren studied and modified the demon-killing spell, and then helped human mages analyze and incorporate it into their magical system over time, turning Zoltraak into a common spell.
The manga goes so wild you have no idea! Its really really good, of course, but damn!! If you think they are going places you would not expect, the manga read is a ride you would enjoy!! Btw, I'd assume Frieren's master's name is based on Sir Alexander Fleming, a Scottish scientist, the dude who discovered antibiotics! But I could be wrong
I don't speak Japanese. But I believe the translation "Frieren the Slayer" is slightly off. I believe its "Last Rites Frieren" which is also the Japanese title to the anime. Sousou no Frieren who gives the Last Rites before she kills you. Thats her name!
While Frieren might have killed more demons than everyone else in the hero party, she is also an elf that has been around for centuries, if not more. It's a bit unfair as a comparison
Here a in-depth explanation about the title Since the anime just recalled the title of the show with episode 08, I will try to explain to people who may not be familiar with Japanese why it is such a big deal, just a little FYI if anyone's interested. The Japanese title for this show is "Sousou no Frieren" which is also the title of episode 08. As you can see there is a short description "Sousou no" in front of our protagonist's name. Sousou (葬送) is a word that is formed by combining 2 characters each with their own meaning, 葬 "to bury" and 送 "to send off". Usually, the word has a sad and grieving nuance, but in some contexts, it also means "to kill/to end". At first, most people assumed that the title is like that because Frieren outlives all her friends, so she "sees them off" one by one. But at this point in the story, the demon reveals that it is actually a title given to her by demons because she has "sent so many demons to their deaths". People were SHOOK when this double meaning was revealed in the manga, it was just so cool lol I saw that English subtitles translated it into "Frieren the slayer", while still badass, it just doesn't fully show how the author played with words in the title, and I just think it's a pity that some people will not be able to appreciate it due to stuff lost in translation. IMO experiencing the realization that the title was not as simple as I thought was one of the highlights when reading the manga. But translation is hard, I totally get that. A Japanese told me that the "to send off/killing" is ONLY used in THIS anime. Don't be confused when you want talk about and no Japanese understand it on this context xD I'm assuming a lot of people already know this, but just in case, I wanted to create this post, because I really love this show and I'm so happy that the anime is getting so much attention. The anime is doing such a good job, and I look forward to it every week. Cheers. www.reddit.com/r/Frieren/comments/17ifamo/double_meaning_of_the_title_sousou_no_frieren/?rdt=44310

Frieren's master Flamme was human, but she taught her hundreds of years ago. Flamme may (or may not???) have been the strongest mage to ever live, but even the strongest humans can't defeat father time - just like the hero who killed the Demon King also succumbed to old age.
Aside the english title is a bit off, Frieren is a talented and seasoned mage for her age, however her former party members excel in their own field too. They couldn't have slayed the demon king without anyone of them. Flamme was not only a powerful mage but she also built up the foundation of humanity's magic. Humanity's magic is different to Demon's magic due to their difference in culture and thoughts. So it's very difficult for human to learn demon magic unless magics with simple concept like Zoltraak.
28:18 I am of the opinion the other heroes were on par with her in power, but also keep in mind she's lived long before she joined them, and has had PLENTY of time to rack up those kill numbers. That, and demons aren't the only monsters out there, I imagine the other party members had a more... nuanced kill count lol.
So to break down your question to clarify the demon king here it is. The demons operate on a "strong leads" system. Most demons will in fight and attempt to kill one another when left to their own devices unless a clear leader is strong enough to essentially herd them into a single purpose. This is what the Demon King did and the 7 sages were essentially his leaders or generals. Each one is incredibly strong in their own right for their own reasons. Usually due to the magic they use such as Zoltraak. In regards to Flamme it'll go into it so keep watching. As I said in the last episodes comments is pay attention to the dialogue as you'll be able to piece together why Frieren isn't well known.
I'm not sure if anyone has said in the comment section of this video or another, but I think I learned that in Japanese etiquette, it is considered impolite to eat quietly. That's why Stark and Fern weren't eating quietly in this episode. If the subject has never come up before in any of your latest reaction videos, you can either look it up or try to bring it up so that someone with more knowledge and understanding can leave a comment about it.
I'm Japanese, but I don't make noises like that when eating, and it's not okay. It's just an anime production. Looking at the comments, it seems there's a misunderstanding, and in Japan, it's taboo to open your mouth and chew while eating, but it's OK to talk. Eating ramen and other noodles with noise is the way downtown people used to eat Japanese soba noodles in the old days, and it was cool at the time. And that's how it's still done today. (I used Google Translate, so I hope it makes sense)
Frieren was not the strongest in her party (at least not at the time), she's slain the most demons because she's lived the longest out of any of them and she's been slaying them ever since she was young before meeting Himmel and the others, and then continued doing so after they died.
1:10 "So, they're solitary creatures, but they can work together as a team." No, they just have no maternal or paternal instinct, leaving their children to fend for themselves. Where they end up influences how they appear - some demons having monstrous appearances while others look almost completely human. Their social structure will be explained in a couple episodes.
She has lived over a thousand year so definitely one of the most powerful mage ever in anime. Basically an agent being. The longer you lived, the more mana and new spells you develop hence if you keep training.
I loved that you loved this episode. I've not read the LN or the manga, but I am ahead of you a bit on the anime. Not gonna spoil anything - just wanted to say, keep watching! You ain't seen nuthin' yet!
I haven't read the manga so this is just a speculation but I think Frieren has killed more demons than anyone in history is because, first, her long lifespan compared to Himmel. Another is even if we only take into account the number of demons she killed during their adventure, she's a mage. Mage specialize in large area attacks while Himmel and Eisen even though they also have wide range attacks, aren't. One thing more is Frieren do not have any empathy to demons because of her past like we saw in the previous episode, while Himmel and the others probably still hesitate to some degree because they see them as intelligent creatures that may have the capacity for empathy or reasoning.

"Are these two assassins, now?"
Luke. Buddy. What do you think a Hero Party *IS* ?
🤯
❤️
I love Frieren being Cold AF.
Also, some top tier fights are incoming.
Sad waiting TT
It's funny now we have weekly friday waiting...
I LOVE the art depiction of the normally stoic frieren and the artist gave her such a hungry look about meeting with Guillotine
25:42 I rarely get goosebumps, watching anime but this scene here + the music did it. 🥶
in japan this anime is literally called "sousou no frieren" (frieren the slayer) and i dont know why the english title is frieren:towards journey's end
You do know that the Sousou no Frieren is literaly the anime titule xd Love it.
episodes 7-9 just made the show go even higher on my favorite list :D
*-10.
14:38 no no he did follow the demon king (he said he was going to avenge him) he just wasn’t one of the seven sages.
28:20 she's not the strongest per se, she's just been killing demons for over a thousand years, which makes her kill demons more than anyone else in recorded history.
Then again, we may assume she goes Leeroy Jenkins whenever her party faces a demon.
She is not killing demons for 1000 years (at least publicly)
.
.
.
.
Aura and Lügner had no idea about any of the demons Freiren killed before meeting Himmel, and he still said that line.
Said it before and I'll say it again, the manga and now the anime made from it are a masterclass in storytelling.
-Opening suggestions:
1. Ergo Proxy, "Kiri" by Monoral
2. The Big O, "Big O! The Show Must Go On!"
3. World's Finest Assassin, "Dark Seeks Light" by Yui Ninimiya
4. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" by Egoist
5. Mobile Suit Gundam, all openings
6. Schwarzesmarken, "White Forces" by Fripside
7. Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex & 2nd Gig, "Inner Universe" & "Rise" by Origa
8. Moriarty the Patriot, "Dying Wish" & "Twisted Hearts" by Tasuku Hatanaka
The glory of this episode : The first time we get to see Frieren's killer face.
Frieren is just that damn good.
Great reactions as always!!! Love all the questions this amazing episode has left you with, because you'll have your answers soon enough >:)
On a side note, since you’ve gotten a good grasp of the story now, I thought you should know YOASOBI /just/ released their official English ver of Yuusha (officially titled “The Brave” now). If you ever feel like reacting to it with the official english lyrics I’d love to see it!!
15:00 she gets to kill a demon, of course she's smiling
I've been catching up on this show for the past 5 days and... what a show.
Frieren The Slayer! So epic. I legit got the chills because of that.
While Frieren might have killed more demons than everyone else in the hero party, she is also an elf that has been around for centuries, if not more. It's a bit unfair as a comparison
Here a in-depth explanation about the title
Since the anime just recalled the title of the show with episode 08, I will try to explain to people who may not be familiar with Japanese why it is such a big deal, just a little FYI if anyone's interested.
People were SHOOK when this double meaning was revealed in the manga, it was just so cool lol
I saw that English subtitles translated it into "Frieren the slayer", while still badass, it just doesn't fully show how the author played with words in the title, and I just think it's a pity that some people will not be able to appreciate it due to stuff lost in translation. IMO experiencing the realization that the title was not as simple as I thought was one of the highlights when reading the manga. But translation is hard, I totally get that. A Japanese told me that the "to send off/killing" is ONLY used in THIS anime. Don't be confused when you want talk about and no Japanese understand it on this context xD
I'm assuming a lot of people already know this, but just in case, I wanted to create this post, because I really love this show and I'm so happy that the anime is getting so much attention. The anime is doing such a good job, and I look forward to it every week. Cheers.

He said it, lugner said iiitt. The title of the anime 😂
episode 7, 8, 9 and 10 are all amazing .
yoooo bro you loove straykids
you will enjoy the next video : straykids megaverse video ( in straykids youtube channel ) i think you will like it more then LALALALA MV
26:43 and ppl in MAL in the bad reviews calling it "the worse anime of the season". Even though it's a meme I love to play the game "guess if the person who left a bad review has FML as a 10" XD
26:09 he said the thing
Manga title: Sousou no Frieren ( Frieren the slayer / Frieren at funeral )
Edit: idk which is the right translation
This was a banger arc since we have Sukuna (Lugner) and Akane (Linie) here
28:18 I am of the opinion the other heroes were on par with her in power, but also keep in mind she's lived long before she joined them, and has had PLENTY of time to rack up those kill numbers. That, and demons aren't the only monsters out there, I imagine the other party members had a more... nuanced kill count lol.
Flamme was human. She was Frieren's master 1,000 years ago. Even legendary mages are no match for time.
One of the video chapters is called Free-Ren ...... this is genius .... I LOVE IT xD ♥
Flammeh was considered the founder of human magic, she left demon slaying to frieren
Stark as zero confidence in himself.
He probably think the dragon was sick or something.
the sound of eating is like that because its not food, its anime food :)
I need those episodes now!
Outstanding episode and it gets even better after
Frieren was not the strongest in her party (at least not at the time), she's slain the most demons because she's lived the longest out of any of them and she's been slaying them ever since she was young before meeting Himmel and the others, and then continued doing so after they died.
know who else uses blood as a weapon?
Kuriyama Mirai from Kyoukai no Kanata (a.k.a Beyond the Boundary) :3
19:43 exactly~ he meant that he had thought his dead son had come for him, get it?
1:10 "So, they're solitary creatures, but they can work together as a team."
No, they just have no maternal or paternal instinct, leaving their children to fend for themselves. Where they end up influences how they appear - some demons having monstrous appearances while others look almost completely human. Their social structure will be explained in a couple episodes.
Usually demon slayers in japanese folklores are swordsmen. But Frieren was like the meme, "Anyways i started blasting"😂
Love your reactions and love my elf Frieren !
It's about to get so real
I definitely recommend you watch Slime Taoshite 300-nen. its about a witch who is immortal and want to live peacefully.
Great timing, I just watched your reaction to the previous episode.
different than frieren, flamme mostly making defense system for humanity to face demon that's why she doesn't actively kill demon.
Commendations, not commiserations is what I believe you wanted to say 😁
"Why she's smiling?"
You already know the answer aren't you? The psychopath smiling~
She has lived over a thousand year so definitely one of the most powerful mage ever in anime. Basically an agent being. The longer you lived, the more mana and new spells you develop hence if you keep training.
frieren pull up game through the roof 🔥
I think Himmel is still the strongest in her party, Frieren just has a very long lifespan, and thus had more time to slay and earn that title
I loved that you loved this episode. I've not read the LN or the manga, but I am ahead of you a bit on the anime. Not gonna spoil anything - just wanted to say, keep watching! You ain't seen nuthin' yet!
Sousou no Frieren(original japanese name of manga) could be translated in 2 ways. Frieren on funeral and Frieren the slayer.
One thing more is Frieren do not have any empathy to demons because of her past like we saw in the previous episode, while Himmel and the others probably still hesitate to some degree because they see them as intelligent creatures that may have the capacity for empathy or reasoning.
yo Happy Thanksgiving Brit, now you have begun to experience the Freiren Hype
Now it's cooking! ❤
