Yo!!!! These Dudes are “Legends” they deserve to be recognized as true pioneers of Hip Hop . A few years back Rock Steady was Honored on VH1 hip-hop honors . And I love rocksteady crew . But the New York City Breakers deserve mad respect . Their moves were impeccable power moves. I don’t know what VH1 was thinking but the New York City breakers Need to be honored word!!! Peace ✌🏾.
"Action" used to be my. Breaker Superhero. He was my favorite from. the NYC Breakers at that era. (I couldn't understand what he said, due to the noise around. Next time you make an interview like this please check the surrounding sounds)
Peace to one of the founding fathers of b-boy popping locking and breaking the founder of the New York City breakers old school hip hop for life my brother good to see you doing well.
There was a break routine that was set to go but the producer or director cut it. Should have recorded the routine. There's bits of video of NYCB in a school hallway scene, I think.
The Floormaster/NYC Breakers, with Chino Lopez leading the charge, were ahead of their time, calling out the Olympics for breaking back in the '80s. Fast forward to 2024, and breaking is now an official Olympic sport! As the original creators and pioneers of Breaking and Hip Hop culture, they continue to make their mark and keep the movement going strong.
Yep love these guys they were my idols in the early '80s. I copied all their moves. I used Chino's move from beat street as my go-to move when it looked like I was losing a battle.
The FMD's Floor Master Dancers were from Brooklyn. Park Slope. NYCB i know used the name Floormasters before they became New York Breakers but the FMD's Floor Master Dancers were are already established before 78 79 in Brooklyn
to Hip-Hop- Student: Please do an interview with Lil Lep. He has a deep history. He was a member of NYC Breakers and Rock Steady Crew. He is also the teacher of Mr. Freeze.

Chino Lopez AKA Action, had a great windmill.I really wish New York City Breakers & Rock Steady crew had had a real challenge in the Roxy in front of cameras and a live audience, pulling off their very best moves. As good as BEAT STREET was, that was a movie challenge. And when GLIDEMASTER from NYC BREAKERS,sadly died,NYC BREAKERS broke up,and the challenge that a lot of us B BOYS would have loved to have seen between ROCK STEADY & NYC BREAKERS never happened.RIP KURIAKI & BUCK 4 from ROCK STEADY & GLIDEMASTER from NYC BREAKERS🙏
Chino's windmill inspired me 40 years ago!! I worked until I perfected it. Chino, you will always be #1 in my book.

I Went To JFK HS Bronx From 1981-1983 With Rock Steady And NYC Breakers

NYC breakers deserve respect just as much as Rock Steady crew. Action was my favorite & Powerful Pexter. Chino is a bodybuilding champion.

NY City Breakers was an excellent name. The hip-hop culture was a bit obscure with all the "slang" - so having a simple name was the right move.
Shout out to my man Chino
in the movie Beat Street he serves Rocksteady so hard with that move if it wasn't for crazy legs it would have been a wrap

Long time now
My homeboys gonna serve you up on a platter
He thought me how to do windmills and headspins
CHINO! I haven't seen dude since 1988!
