      @Samuel ASHLY you even watch the vid. Is it the best option for hard enduro, heck no but for tight single trail it absolutely rips you just need to know how to ride a bike

    • @sherb118
      @sherb118 4 роки тому +21

      @Samuel ASHLY you missed out big time if you never learned to ride a 125 in the woods, they teach you how to keep momentum, feather the clutch and good god, when you can open them up they are an absolute blast, you may not be going as fast as you would on a 250 2 stroke but you feel like you are on a little rocket...ignorant to say they are useless

    • @sherb118
      @sherb118 4 роки тому +12

      @Samuel ASHLY so you are judging a 125 on VERY little experience with them obviously...there is your first mistake. The easiest route isn't always the best when trying to develop a skill...take someone that has gotten everything they could out of a 125, developed solid technique and really pushed the limits on what the bike could do then put them on a more powerful bike and I can guarantee they will be more prepared than their counterpart, the person who just said ehhh fuck it, this is too hard, I just need more power. To your point about the weight...you can ABSOLUTELY feel more rotating mass on a 250F than you can on a 125, anyone that has ridden both enough in the woods knows a 2 stoke is more "flickable" 10/10 times. Yes lb's are not that much different but where those pounds are and how much is actually rotating mass makes a huge difference. Yes 125's lack bottom end...NO SHIT lol have you ever seen a 125 piston...It's teeny fuckin tiny, it's clearly not going to have the bottom end of a 250, we are well aware of that. You clearly haven't ridden a 125 long enough to make a substantial argument for your point of them being "pointless".

    • @dakotanewman4443
      @dakotanewman4443 4 роки тому +4

      Samuel ASHLY For the people getting stuck it could just be because they are newer riders since a 125 is the most common beginner bike and once people feel like they have started reaching their limits on them they tend to move up to bigger bikes. If you have are hard time on 125's its just a lack of skill and i would recommend getting one to practice on. They are really cheap and I guarantee you you will notice an improve in your riding for whatever bike you choose to ride after.

    I raced enduro in the UK for 9 years.
    I started on a 250 and was struggling.
    I asked the top guys for advice and I kept getting the same advice.
    1 Buy a Trials bike
    2 Buy a 125
    I reluctantly did both, and it was the best thing I ever did regarding learning to ride a bike and pick good lines.
    I kept on a 125 for 2 years, and went up to a 200 and 250, but on the 125 was where I leart to ride.

    I'm sold, BeRad! Did you have to change your head cylinder on the YZ125X to an Apex head? A tighter squish would give that bike more "sizeable" bottom end gain than those Rad Valve or Lectron honestly.... Thanks BeRad for clarifying any here....
    Love the YZ125X. I might just save my money later on for the YZ167 MaxPower mod that include boring and stroking, crank balancing, exhaust port polishing, head cylinder squish tigthening, cc'ing of the combustion dome to bring the compression back to stock while gaining a tighter squish, all for $1,850 package, and I still end up $550 to $650 cheaper than buying the 2020 150XC-W or TE150, assuming the MSRP of the YZ125X is $6,699....

    • @tylernewsome217
      @tylernewsome217 4 роки тому +1

      YamUzu250 getting the squish tolerance corrected on my yz250 made a huge difference in response and pretty good torque off the bottom

    Would this be a good casual woods riding bike?, I'm too old for all the hill climbing and crazy speed stuff. Blew my knee out 20 years ago on a CR250.....

      Get a 300cc beta, gasgas, husky, ktm. They are mellow torque monster with linear power, it's nothing like the old two strokes from 20yrs back. It's like cheating.

      @@rztrzt Thanks, KTM and Husky are out of my price range as I suspect the others are too, might end up with the RPS Hawk,,,,,that would kinda suck......haha

    When you gonna tell us about that apex cylinder head? I think that might have a lot to do with you low end lug.....

    • @BeRAD
      @BeRAD  4 роки тому

      the carb and rad valve had most effect. I honestly cant say what the head did other than maybe a bit more mid range. It's so hard to compare unless you could switch it. I WOULD say that it helps with stalling resistance as it lowers compression. I haven't talked about it yet because I honestly don't know and I don't want to be dishonest
