You guys are very good riders, that's one tough trail! I'm pushing 80 and my riding days are over. All I have left are great memories of when I was young like you.
Sounds like you had a blast. Thats nice to hear!
You have any advice for younger riders?
When I write younger... iam 31.. And just started riding enduo trail riding. Its hard! :-)
I raced in the California desert and So. Cal. Moto cross in the 70s. Winner of many broken body parts!
Now live in So. Utah and do my riding on Cedar mt. In my RZR.
@@gladegoodrich2297 you should make a video
how can i push harder in my motocross track? i'm 15 and i already race in motocross but i ve got a lot to learn and i ll like to hear some advices!
I was literally contemplating if I should get a 125x and this video just made my decision..... I’m gonna get one
Siiiiick! I love mine so much.
BeRad has done an awesome job showing folks how to have fun and build skill on a smaller displacement bike.
Me too lol I’m 5’10 and 155 lbs and I don’t think I need a yz250
@@jadonschwartz531 250's are more fun because more powah baby
ive been riding since 5 years old tho. but 125's are still a blast
Bravo guys, a kick-ass trail ridden by two skilled and fit riders. I would have had irreversible arm pump after 15 minutes! Oh to be young again. I've ridden across Moab on more established trails and grew up riding New England woods but this terrain is truly monumental. The fact that you didn't smash your engine cases (or ankles) to pieces in some of those narrow chutes, is impressive. Thank you for not adding what seems to be obligatory head-banger music, your narrative added to the already terrific video. Keep it up.

Man you guys did great, I live on the east coast and have been trying to get to Moab for 15 years and just went there a couple of days ago matter of fact I’m on my way home now and every trail head I went on took me all day to complete, I’m 64 and finally made it to Moab and had a blast, you guys are flying thanks for the video
Just bought a yz125 on craigslist that has upgraded reeds, Athena 144cc kit, and a Pro circuit pipe and it fucking rips. Blows away my 250 four strokes. I think I've seen the light
Dude that is a gnarly run
So much fun!!! Come suffer next time 😂
I have a 96 YZ 125 and I have always said "Its my exercise bike" and I see that has not changed. You are one tough Dude. Awesome.
I would only be able to do 5 minutes of this before I would be dead by the looks of it!
Don’t get mad at me for saying this but the 2 stroke noise started to get Annoying at 12 min I swear there so high pitched the sound even started to vibrate my phone they sound cool when first Driving them but after a while 🤦♂️omg
@@selltheoneonofferup3768 yeah I've just bought a xr200 to sup up and go on long trail rides, the yz125 is too annoying loud 😂
you are rad dude , never in my life have i seen such a trail. i would not have thought it possible on a dirt bike much less anything else , you have opened my eyes to a new level of adventure. i will see you out there someday BeRAD. good luck
Thanks Robert!!! Look up some extreme enduro videos! Much harder stuff to ride than this. People just commonly refer to it as the hardest trial in Utah…it’s not haha.
watching you man handle that 125 up those sketchy rocky hills was just incredible
Gives me a new found appreciation for the rmatvmc guys who did this on 500 dollar bikes
People don’t give small bore bikes enough respect . I had a 2019 ktm 150 xc and it was an amazing bike . Awsome in tight singles and with enough throttle would hang with big bikes even in faster stuff . So easy to ride and forgiving . And most importantly a shit load of fun !
Totally!! I love showing up on it and then old timers laugh thinking I won’t be able to keep up...I’m always sure to give them some shit when I’m waiting for them 😜😂😂
@@BeRAD I used to get the same thing , haha . I had so many guys pull up beside me and at that 250 goes pretty well ! And I’d say nah it’s a 150 and they couldn’t comprehend it lol
Not trail riding, not mountain riding, I’m not sure what that was, but I’m exhausted just watching it. You guys are some mix of amazing and insane. But, if the 125X can do THAT, it’ll do anything I want it to do. I’m sold.
Hope you ended your getting one! Was my favorite bike I ever owned.
That was some fantastic trail riding. Back when I was 12 my dad used to put a lot of pressure to me and put me in really tight and difficult spots like these asking me to gas through the entire thing. Me, as an intermediate-begginner with no so much control of my dirthbike (plus it was a 400),felt really frustrated for a lot of years. Today watching you ride through a very difficult trail, made me do the paces with myself. I no longer feel like a useless kid-rider 😀and understand much more that it takes time to master the gears, the balance, and the movement of the bike in difficult stuff like this. You should definetely come and ride in Argentina sometime. Keep progressing and letting us enjoy the ride!
Why the hell would your dad put you, a 12 year old, on a 400 and force you to pin it through technical terrain you can’t even handle🤣
This was one of the most esoteric things I watched in a long while. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Great video. Great footage. I love seeing the rider in front of you for perspective. My favorite trail in the world.
22:22 - best skill moment
Hahahaha! Complete failure 😅

I'm serious.
you jumped on a hummock from the spot.

this is a real skill
I actually prefer your commentary, interesting to hear your thoughts on how to tackle features during the ride.
Thanks for the input! I’ll consider doing more like this!
Sick man!! Literally my dream trail one day... one day!!
Don’t get mad at me for saying this but the 2 stroke noise started to get Annoying at 12 min I swear there so high pitched

Bad ass man and nice save at not running your buddy over around the 35:30 mark lol
5:42 that is so fucking awesome just casually doing that to turn around
If you go to that trail and you get used to it you can do that trail in about 30 minutes hauling ass. I did that trail in 40 mins on a Suzuki rm 90. The time I did it in around 30 mins with gps it was with my Husqvarna 300i. It's an enduro bike for those that are not riders. The Suzuki is a little 2 stroke with alot of power for its size. My best advice would be use a GPS the next time you go. My gps set up mounts right on my handle bars. I have 2 of them incase one fails or stops working. They both are made by different companies and use different service providers. And the mount i have it great you can wreck your bike and go off jumps and the gps stay right where they are supposed to be. The only way the gps can come off the mount is to take the mount off the handle bars. The mount is made from aluminum. I like the set up because they cant just pop out the mount when you hit a bump like some cheaper mounts do. I never leave with out them when I ride in the desert for obvious reasons. And no I'm not talkin about the one on your phone. Uou think the 125 is hard do it on a 90 and tell me how it is. Lol. Alot of switching gears constantly. Next time I go ima do it on a pitbike. I was gonna do it the time I used my 90 but the ppl I was with told me it would be to hard. But see I like doing trails that most can't do and if you can't tell already my favorite type of riding is enduro races. I've always wanted to do a real enduro race the sea to sky race or something like that but wat hang Graham Jarvis ha e trouble makes me second guess doing it.
Rode the same trail on a 2001 YZ125 bone stock. Its no joke for sure! I had no energy left after! I have known Russell Bobbit since he was 10, one fast dude!
Straight skills in this video...Some tough ass riding in this video...
Kinda funny I’ve been watching since I was too young to ride and now there’s nothing I love more than dirt bikes
I think you guys did fantastic, it would’ve probably of taken me six hours 😬
Great vid! I enjoy extended ride videos and the commentary compliments it nicely. My last bike was a KTM Freeride 250R and I'm probably going to get a vintage bike next, like a KTM 550 MXC!
For anybody wondering how crazy impressive this is. I’ve ridden 5moh many times and usually takes me about 4 hours. It’s not his technique that’s the impressive parts. It’s his physical stamina to do it this fast.
Haha thank you! I will say though, with the right technique, you don’t even get tired going this pace. When I recorded this my technique lacked compared to now and even then I wasn’t terribly tired. Also wasn’t in particularly great shape. Just making a point that technique is a huge factor and would say that it was on my side to get me through this. I want to go back with my 250 and smash this time.
I've ridden that thing twice, but each time it was right at 16 miles, not taking any of the bail-outs?? Didn't time them because I was too busy giving away all my water to idiots who ignored the warnings- "bring at least a gallon of water". You are correct, some of those climbs up slick-rock are massive and require a planned approach. Those tires were working well, I have them on my GS700 but not dirt bike. Both times I rode it on a WR250 2 stroke, last year ever made, and best year... Doubt I'd want to do it on my 4 stroke today, mostly due to old age. The local club I belonged to was giving away T-shirts the first time- "I survived 5 miles of hell" if you made it to the finish...
Excellent video, thanks.
5 miles is always a cool vid. 5 miles of hell on a yz125x with adult rider is mind blowing.👍 Great vid. You should do a version 2 on the yz450fx
Honestly....48:47 is what got my heart rate up. Getting into the power band of a 2 stroke...lol. Love your vid. Great riding👍
Very skilled riders!
Thanks for the great tour..
Strong work. My arms hurt just watching. That 125 sounds clean!
Thank you! It was such a great bike. I want another 😩
I noticed a specific part in your video, approximately at the 16:10 mark, where I saw a group of guys on TW200's struggling for quite a while in another video. It was impressive to see how effortlessly you managed to navigate through that section.
Crazy how you held on to it at 14:17 mate. I would have looped tf out of my bike. Your a an absolute beast
You and your buddies are talented, no question about it.
Love it dude! I had fun watching this video men that was sick men! I have a Honda CR125 I’m thinking of doing a trail ride just like that to soon 🔥👍
Don’t get mad at me for saying this but the 2 stroke noise started to get Annoying at 12 min I swear there so high pitched I am a proud 2 stroke and 4 stroke owner and the two stroke gets annoying af after a while my ears bleed the sound even started to vibrate my phone they sound cool when first Driving them but after a while 🤦♂️omg
This is a trail you ride to condition yourself on and to improve your skills on other trails. A challenge is always good even if you are just thankful when you hit other trails.
Well said!
I am 15 years old and did a 20 mile once, it was very tiering!

Frikking awesome! That’s insane and so much fun to watch. Took me back to 1974 when I realized de my 125 Elsinore! Nothing like that though! Ride safe…
my arms and legs are tired from just watching this! Nice riding skills
That is one Hell of a trail ! I love Moab for it's jeep trails. Doing the jeep routs on a dirt bike goes about 8 times faster. You are fast on this bike only trail, thanks for videoing it.
Thank you! Yeah I live the jeep trails. I’ve got newer videos on my channel from Pritchett Canyon and more.
Nice to see another rider running Phoenix handlebars, I have a 06 yz144cc. But i race on track
That's 5 miles of Heaven. A 125 2cycle is a good idea because it's super light but the rider better not be very heavy because that's like no power. A 125 if you are slim is super mobile. Usually a 4 stroke is better for hard pack and loose rocks because it dosent spin out on hills, it acts like a tractor, plus you can go almost twice as far on a four stroke and you don't have to mix the fuel. ⛽ That being said if you can have both please do it. Utah, awesome place, awesome people. By the way, a person can't fake that level of skill that you are seeing in this video, wow😎.
Looks like a fun little trail!
Add 6 inches of snow!
You’re riding it like a 300!
You really need to practice your clutch techniques!
Your clutches in oil it won’t burn up use it!
In some of them technical areas you could pin it and control your speed and what you put into the ground with the clutch you have that way you have stored energy and you’ll start flying right up them technical .
Thanks for the tip buddy. I never even use the clutch at all so that should help!
@BeRAD I guess you're being sarcastic with your answer, there's no way to ride on trail without using the clutch, specially on that little 125x.
Wow you just proved to me that the YZ 125 is enough to tackle the gnarliest trails in Utah which is the State I live in , was thinking about a YZ 250 but the YZ 125 is plenty enough to do the kind of riding I want to do off-road in Utah👍 thumbs up on some good riding skills and posting this on UA-cam!
Its a yz125x I think if it was a regular yz 125 it would be fouling plugs
The rebuilds scare me tho
Very impressive riding. You certainly picked the right bikes to do it. Having an RMZ450, I was just thinking of that big boy tipping over on all those rocky tops and shelfs.
Dude, that is some riding!! Very impressive especially on a 125.
I dare you to try doing this on a Hawk 250 Chinese Enduro that costs $1,500 brand new. I'd love to see you try! And I think the internet would too!
Lol
125cc is enough for a 2 stroke. Espesialy with the mods you have
Lol 125 is not very much
@@Pidot31415 well if have zero skill then you maybe need a 250 or 300
@Aslan T Vorlon im not from a english speaking country so my spelling is rubish
@@Pidot31415 dude just did the roughest trail I’ve ever seen. “125 isn’t much”. 😂yeah maybe in a straight line next to a 250. All ab what you use it for and how you use it. Having a bigger bike doesn’t automatically make you a better or faster rider
Then you have never been 5th tapped on a 250 2 Stoke giving 450s a run for there money
I think this seals the deal for me. I'm looking for a yz125x now.
Even though I'm 200lbs I'm doing for a yz125 loved my 99 model it was one best bikes I've ever owned
Damn, what a trail. Nice ride good rider. All respect
My whole body aches just watching your excellent video! 😂
The respect that this guy deserves doing this on a MX bike🙇
Good stuff I love Moab. We ventured out twice from Monterey CA.
Damn - having grown up on dirt bikes on trails in country NSW (Australia) and now riding a little Ninja 1000, I'm very keen to do some more trail riding. Great vid and cheers from Sydney - Dave
That trail is narly, doing it on a 450 a few years ago really wore me out! 😅
I own a YZ250F 2021 and a YZ250F 2015 and this video really inspired me to turn my 15 into more of an off-road bike. Shit looks fun my guy!
It’s stupid fun!
I counted 12 times that I would have died-in the first the two minutes. Well done.
Great trail and even better on a 1 2 5 lol.
Did it last week on the 300xc. My 22 150 xcw it at the suspension shop right now. Can't wait to do it on a lite
I've always wanted to go to Moab Utah and ride this
Ya I grew up on that kind of trail. More gas is more forgiving at least on a 4 stroke they like to keep moving i could never put it around like u did that 125 out there it would get too hot
I’d have issues walking this trail. Riding-forgetaboutit !
Impressive!
i never have rode a motorbike but these guys made it look so fun
\
One of my friends taught me something about these types of trails; Pick a gear you like that wont stall you and stay with it because one wrong shift and your going down with the bike.
Wow, how do you guys climb those rocks! I've been riding 1 year and just seeing you climb those so easily is just ridiculous. Great video
I wasn’t even looking for this and I watched the entire thing.
That trail looks soooooooooooo gnarly
That throttle response 👌👍
This trail is GNARRRR-KILL!!!!
Lookin lije jarvis out there on the 125... Really though thats some gnarly ish has to be heck of a workout
It’s amazing how many places look the same
Impressive. I was just put there in June. So much more gnarly in person vs gopro.!
I recently did the trail on my 21 125x as well. It took much longer... And i was exhausted. I was also running so rich that the bike was getting 16 mpg. Maybe one day I'll get on your level😂😂
Gotta hook her up with a freight train kit man! Or at least a lectron and apex head. Truck to truck on this day I didn’t even go through 1/4 tank lol
nothing hurt more then the balls to the gas cap on landing a jump
Thats some amazing riding guys! Who's the guy with the chainsaw that keeps following you? 😁
Man that was Awesome! Way to rip it up!
U guys made this look way to easy! Nice stuff guys
That's some double black diamond riding!!
Great ride, really challenging. Would take 3 hours for me if I ever finished it 😅
Yup, definitely different terrain then I'm used to riding here in MN.
Good Job ! Imagine breaking down or getting hurt out there, not sure how you would get out
Sweet! Nice run on the 125!
You guys must be running bibs LOL

It's crazy how much abuse the tires can take.
Wow man, Utah looks so frikkin amazing to ride!!!
i went to a wilderness therapy program in tge san rafael swell! i was out there hiking every day for 87 days. i remember seeing bikers pass and thinking damn, freedom. so if you ever see a group of kids in blue shirts and high vis thats the program! its basically the movie holes without the digging lol
You guys are really good riders .I used to own a new 2007 crf450x n I pictured trying to do that .I would have probably broken more than my bike🤣well done on the video
I really need to get out on my bike.. Haven't taken it out in over 2 years. Once this lockdown ends I'm gonna have to go for a ride again.
Great ride! Thanks for sharing. Poor clutch though, alot of wear I imagine...lol.👍
it’s a 125 man, haha you have to burn the clutch
Man whoever painted that trail is such a G haha. I feel like I would be so lost on this trail haha...
For our pavement-bound friends, the Tail of the Dragon and all the surrounding roads are absolutely a blast. The tail itself is an 11 mile stretch of road with 318 turns and no intersections or residences. Don't cross the double yellow and you generally won't have problems with the police either
I would never ride the Dragon for any reason, I’ve seen hundreds of videos and the place is full of idiots who can’t ride.
2 stroke bliss
holy shit best place in the world i have ever seen, awesome ride man
Love it! Way to kill it
YZ 125 did good but that is why man should still be making 2 stroke 500cc bikes. How I miss my 1984 KTM 495
You really demonstrate what a YZ is capable of
this so far is the best video of Yamaha 125 they lasts longer .
