Always delightful, informative, and entertaining, Heath. Thank you! At some point, I hope you return to episodes showing your 4 for $49 Warner Archive pickups.
Love your release updates Heath !!! Thanks so much for going over the new upcoming batch from Kino !! They’ve quickly become among my favorite labels . Love the graphic design work , slip covers , remaster work and bonus features / audio commentaries. Very pleased with your interviews with Frank Tarzi - please invite him back !!! Love his love for the medium and honesty . Kino has better sales than Amazon …. Just put in 2 rounds of orders in their recent sale last month. Even the new release pricing is highly competitive with Amazon . I’ve been supporting them directly, preordering outside of sales to give them my business . I’m currently eyeing the upcoming Gene Hackman film , The Package (awesome political thriller that was on constant rotation on cable film channels in the early to mid 90’s) and Boris Karloff Mr Wong Detective film series . As soon as the Columbo box sets are available I’m all over those !! I know Kino will do a superb job . Last year Kino did a release of Happy Birthday to Me ….. it was on Mill Creek at one point . Any idea if Kino will also get to When a Stranger Calls ??? Both were Columbia films on a Mill Creek 2-fer several years ago . I’d love to see Stranger get the Kino treatment (maybe audio commentary with the superb Amanda Reyes !!!!!!) Keep up the great work Heath !!!!
Jacques Rivette is a French film legend who was one of the original Cahiers critics who helped found the French New Wave, and is probably best known here for La Belle Noiseuse and Celine & Julie Go Boating--both of which are even longer than Up, Down, Fragile (which is at least under 3 hours!). Up, Down, Fragile does have its charms--much of it having to do with its very appealing roster of actresses (including the great Anna Karina)--but I'd also recommend The Story of Marie & Julien, which at 2.5 hours qualifies as one of Rivette's "shorter" films, and is almost as great a showcase for Emmanuelle Beart as La Belle Noiseuse.
Great update. As far as I know, HELL IS FOR HEROES and THE BIG EASY have not received blu-ray releases in the US. Both were available on DVD. However, THEY CAME TO CODURA was on a previous Mill Creek blu-ray double feature with THE MAN FROM THE ALAMO. A weird thing in HELL IS FOR HEROES, and it is odd, is a semi-humorous scene with Bob Newhart doing a variation on his then popular talking on the telephone routines. Interested in what you think of HOLD BACK THE DAWN when you watch it. It's not really a noir, Hugo Haas is his own genre. Cleo Moore and John Agar are pretty amazing, if not good. Also, I highly recommend THE MAN ON THE TRAIN, with French pop star Johnny Halliday as a low-key hood. Patrice Leconte, the director, was one of the great auteurs of the 90's and 00's: THE GIRL ON THE BRIDGE, MONSIEUR HIRE, and THE HAIRDRESSER'S HUSBAND. I got the Leconte double feature of FELIX AND LOLA and LOVE STREET in the last KL sale, and it is top on the to-watch pile.
Well, Disney has a deal with Mill Creek Entertainment to get out of print titles back in circulation, so if that goes well, they may be willing to license some things that haven't had a disc yet. Fingers crossed. It just depends on how well those discs sell.
Kino have to be one of the most interesting labels rn just due to the sheer volume and variety of stuff they put out. I picked up Blue, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, The Connection, Mephisto, The Stranger, The Lady From Shanghai, Spaceballs, and The Apartment on their recent sale also, what do you think of that Fellini set? I just recently got through watching all the films in it
I got rawhead rex arrow blu ray.but messed up and got the European region version.i need to get a region free blu ray player but i cant figure out what to buy and where😢
I'm always surprised to see these indie titles and dcumentaries coming out on DVD. I mean, don't get me wrong, the more physical media we get the better, but really who's the audience for this and who buys this. It's not genre, it's not oldie, it's not cult. Its low-budget mainstream. Most of the time it doesn't even have a well-known cast, it's basically festival-circuit stuff. Also the vast majority of them come out with no special features to speak of. I mean, they keep putting those out so someone must be buyng them, but I'm not sure they can be found among CAM's audience...:-)
Because now I'm competing with UA-cam Shorts and I only have a few seconds to hook a new viewer or they might click away. Attention spans are shorter than they've ever been so I'm trying to cut straight to the chase. I may still put the intro there sometimes, though.
If you get more views with a shorter video, why not always spilt the new release spotlight into two videos regardless whether you have them all on hand or not? Then you can also feel more free to make an extra comment here and there if you feel compelled.
@@CerealAtMidnight That's a bummer. I guess I'm not a typical viewer in that I pretty regularly go through my subscriptions to see what new uploads I want to watch.
You're right! Half of my viewers aren't even subscribed, even though I keep asking. I appreciate that you're not only subscribed, but actively in charge of choosing what you watch on UA-cam.
iMorderchai has an interesting premise, the movie really doesn't work. I was sent to a screening link to review but I couldn't finish the film. It just didn't work for me
I love your Tony Curtis voice! I can’t help but laugh every time!
I thought I was the only one who did that, and then I found Heath!
@@richconroy5559 Is yours like Heath’s? His is nearly perfect!
Thanks for the new release info 👏👏👏👍
That Harry Pollard disc looks like great fun! 😃
And anything with Lon Chaney is a must-have!!!

Your videos are always entertaining and informative. I always appreciate the hard work! Thanks, Heath! God bless and stay safe!
Thanks for the video! I love how many Film Noir sets Kino Lorber has put out. I'm on the very start of collecting the sets, so have a ways to go!

Love these Kino Lorber videos. Thanks Heath! I'm going to have to pick up that Rawhead Rex disc. Scared the heck out of me as a kid.
“Hell is for Heroes” has a bizarre-but-fun bit of my favorite comedian, Bob Newhart, doing one of his phone routines to distract the Nazis.
Great review 😊
Do you review Vinegar syndrome movies, they have some great movies.
Rawhead Rex is a gem. Even though Clive Barker hates the movie. The story itself is merciless and brutal.

I would love to have Kino Lorber release House (1986) on blu ray. That'll be nice!

We need to start a campaign to get Kino to release a blu ray/4K version of Johnny Dangerously!!!!
It's with Disney, so unless something changes, that's a no go. Fun movie, though!
@@CerealAtMidnight You had to say the D word didn't you? Well let's write that one off as never seeing the light of day again :(

I also just bought Juniper. Too bad it's only DVD.

I bought way too many movies during KL's Spring Sale.
Woah, where's the funky intro?

Hey can you the house of 1000 corpes 20th anniversary edition
Been on a deep Haley Mills run lately.
Why no more Cereal at Midnight title card with cool guitar at the start of videos?

Anyone know what happened to Kino's coming soon title Leviathan 1989 movie?
Still coming, but the original elements are stored in Italy and accessing them has slowed things down.
@@Gila_Films Oh okay, thanks for the update.
I’d definitely respond, if you ran & I won the contest on UA-cam.

I’ve tried before and almost nobody comes back for part 2.
