  • Here is my second " Behind the Instagram video on How to Fix Brassy orange ombre hair using my secret hair techniques and formulas. I decided to pick one that was a little bit different than the first one of these I did. My client came in with a very brassy ombre and wanted a softer more ashy color. So here is what I did.
Before you start bleaching your hair - make sure your hair is nourished and in the best possible shape. I recommend ALL my clients use a Monat brand Shampoo/Cond before starting as they're naturally based and truly helps to nourish and restore your hair to make sure its in its best state possible before you start applying bleach. Trust me, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. If you want to learn more about Monat, read this section on my website: ellebangs.com/ellebang-monat/ - Yes - I am affiliated with Monat, because I truly believe in their products.

Please keep doing this series!!!!! I'm in cosmetology school and I look for videos like this all the time. What I like about you is that you're out to help others, even if it means throwing out your secrets/industry secrets here and there. You've helped me a lot since day 1! I actually brought you up in school and a male classmate of mine actually likes your videos too haha. I've been watching your videos since you started, seen pretty much every one of them. If I ever go to California I'm totally making a hair appointment with you!!! Youre awesome!

of course for us that would be even more helpful, but for her and her client that can be quite inconvenient and disturb the whole experience and process. she said before that she often does not get to record anything because she needs all her attention and time for the client and i think that, in the end, that has to be the priority

I'm not a hair dresser, but cannot afford to have my hair done professionally. So, I rely entirely on research. Videos like these help as long as you can deduce from a multitude of different stylists to decide how you want your hair, and how YOUR hair will react. I'm so grateful for the men and women who post videos like this, because I was finally able to figure out a way to keep my hair looking fresh, natural and healthy. For anyone that's curious about what I do on a budget, I highlight all over every couple months and tone in between. I have naturally dark ash blond hair, but it pulls orange and is very spongy. I don't have thick hair, but I have a lot of it! This technique works for me and has a natural ombré look to it. Thank you so much ladies and gents!!!

WOW! Her hair looks fabulous! The process you did is far beyond what a lay person could successfully attempt. One of my bucket list items is to book a color session with you ; ) My hair is to my hips and far too brassy for me, especially at 60 years old . . . makes me look older. I love what you do with the blonde tones and that you wouldn't necessarily chop off all of my hair is appealing. I've never had a good experience in a salon so stopped going 20 years ago. I imagine that I'm not alone in this. Fun to hear you process and thoughts. I'm learning more about what I want and that it's actually do-able.

THANK YOU for clarifying after zone one (the first inch) that it's a color correction therefore more time, more product and more money! I have SO many new guests that come in that haven't had a touch up in months and have 4-5 inch new growth and I try telling them I'm going to have to use multiple formulas and more color in general to get them back to normal therefore it will be a little pricier. A lot of them don't understand because they think "it's just their roots" lol

Thank you for your videos. I do my hair at home since I can't leave home for longer and I have a question. My natural hair is about 7. I have it lightened with box dye up to 9. I would like to go brighter to tone it more ashy with redken shades. I thought of trying to start lifting the roots to 9 instead of box dye and using blue champoo as a temporary measure and when it grows out the box dye part lifting it a bit more to tone it. What do you think? Will I end up with a disaster? I know that you get orange roots after lifting but in my case with the next wash and a good shampoo it kind of gets corrected by itself

I had my hair done 4 days ago and asked for balayage but that's not what I got. He basically lightened all my hair except the roots. It's very brassy and orange tones...how can I fix this and how long should I wait so I won't damage my hair? He toned it twice. From you videos I was thinking taking a hi lift and apply a blue based toner. That sounds right to me but I don't know what I'm doing!

ok. so it does not matter how long your hair is you do have ends. that is good to hear. I watched a video about bleaching and a pixie cut that did not turn out good. And I made a comment about the bleaching process ans someone dared to say that she ( the model) did not have ends cuz the hairdresser had cut her hair and I was like wtf? your hair is supposed to have ends cuz it has to end somewhere.

I just got a balayage, not much of my roots show but my hair is orange-ish on top... Can I use the 12A + 20 volume on all of my hair, including roots? I don't want them to turn orange

hi! I was wondering why was the highlight color applied to zone 2 before the color was applied to zone 1. in my mind, I'm thinking reverse would be easier, but I'm sure there is a reason for doing zone 2 then 1.

How do you fix hair that has been highlighted, but half are warm and half are cool and it's on grey hair and they don't want to color the grey so it looks more natural as it grows out.
