- Here is my second " Behind the Instagram video on How to Fix Brassy orange ombre hair using my secret hair techniques and formulas. I decided to pick one that was a little bit different than the first one of these I did. My client came in with a very brassy ombre and wanted a softer more ashy color. So here is what I did.
Before you start bleaching your hair - make sure your hair is nourished and in the best possible shape. I recommend ALL my clients use a Monat brand Shampoo/Cond before starting as they're naturally based and truly helps to nourish and restore your hair to make sure its in its best state possible before you start applying bleach. Trust me, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. If you want to learn more about Monat, read this section on my website: ellebangs.com/ellebang-monat/ - Yes - I am affiliated with Monat, because I truly believe in their products.

This is bananas...I can only imagine how long she was in your chair for! Next time a stylist tells me "that's not possible" I'm just going to refer her to your channel... obviously ANYTHING is possible :)
You are a true colorist! Amazing expertise you have...salons around here couldn't do what you do...wow, beautiful job!
Sugar Magnolia aw thank you !!!
Not to be confused with the OTHER colourist 😂
Love your videos! I follow you since the beginning and you have come so far! Even in your speaking in front of the camera you are more confident! Bless
I learn more about color from your videos than i ever did in school... ive been doing hair for 3 years and color is still over my head ! Thanks for all the tips !! :) i love these videos
Please keep doing this series!!!!! I'm in cosmetology school and I look for videos like this all the time. What I like about you is that you're out to help others, even if it means throwing out your secrets/industry secrets here and there. You've helped me a lot since day 1! I actually brought you up in school and a male classmate of mine actually likes your videos too haha. I've been watching your videos since you started, seen pretty much every one of them. If I ever go to California I'm totally making a hair appointment with you!!! Youre awesome!
Sweetie, that is a lot of work!! Amazing work honestly!! From one stylist to another 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I would prefer that you tape the process and let us watch other than just talking us through it
of course for us that would be even more helpful, but for her and her client that can be quite inconvenient and disturb the whole experience and process. she said before that she often does not get to record anything because she needs all her attention and time for the client and i think that, in the end, that has to be the priority
...exactly!👍
while she was talking about the process, I imagined all that's what hair stylist do😁
Did you watch the video?
I commend you on your hair knowledge.. I'm a stylist that fights brass all the time.. You really have a way with explaining yourself that is so easy.. 💁
I love this series so much!!!! This is so much fun to watch and it really shows your skills!!! Keep them coming!! ❤️
love that you're doing this series! it sounds like you're heading in this direction, but I'd love to see footage of you doing your clients' hair in the salon. thanks for the awesome content!
I like these videos very much! You are always so informational! Love it! You've always been my go to hair youtuber!
It's amazing what you're doing and it's also really sad that not every hair stylist can do it like you. 😫 I really appreciate you're work and I would dye to be able to find someone like you that really knows what is doing. 👏🏻😘
I'm not a hair dresser, but cannot afford to have my hair done professionally. So, I rely entirely on research. Videos like these help as long as you can deduce from a multitude of different stylists to decide how you want your hair, and how YOUR hair will react. I'm so grateful for the men and women who post videos like this, because I was finally able to figure out a way to keep my hair looking fresh, natural and healthy. For anyone that's curious about what I do on a budget, I highlight all over every couple months and tone in between. I have naturally dark ash blond hair, but it pulls orange and is very spongy. I don't have thick hair, but I have a lot of it! This technique works for me and has a natural ombré look to it. Thank you so much ladies and gents!!!
Very informative video! Really shows the hard work a stylist puts into achieving a clients hair goals. Great job!!
I'm loving your new series! The color ended up so beautiful
I love all of your videos! I love how you explain everything. You're top notch! Love ya!
You're the best! I wish I could have found you years ago before damaging my hair with so much unnecessary bleach
Thank you for your awesome videos and for the color formulas!! I've been a stylist 15 plus years and continue to educate myself. These videos are very helpful:)
Your videos are super helpful! You're great at giving clear and concise information. Thank you for your great videos!!
Turned out beautiful, u are awesome! Thanks so much for explaining how to achieve those results
I really don't want this to come across rude, but I watched a few of your videos two years/a year ago, and honestly you have become so much more enjoyable to watch! So I'll definitely be subbing now, thank you :)
I loooovveee this series! Keep them coming! ☺️💇🏼
WOW! Her hair looks fabulous! The process you did is far beyond what a lay person could successfully attempt. One of my bucket list items is to book a color session with you ; ) My hair is to my hips and far too brassy for me, especially at 60 years old . . . makes me look older. I love what you do with the blonde tones and that you wouldn't necessarily chop off all of my hair is appealing. I've never had a good experience in a salon so stopped going 20 years ago. I imagine that I'm not alone in this. Fun to hear you process and thoughts. I'm learning more about what I want and that it's actually do-able.
Your makeup is beautifully done!!
You are SOOO talented!!! Loved this video!
LOVE your channel! You’re a natural 🙌🏼
Thanks Silvia, great info presented in a step by step manner that makes sense. Really helpful video.

Lots of love from the bay area 💕
Love that you are an expert and giving free useful advice...you are sooo gorgeous! My hair is one length and down to my hips...what is your opinion about conditioner and what is the best for long bleached dry hair? 😊
I am a beginner hair dresser and I just found you on UA-cam and I got to say I love how you explain what you did and the products you used. This has helped me a lot and I will be definitely be watching more. Haha You will be one of GO TO Video if ever come to this color correction when I start working lol

Hi, do you have a salon in the Bay Area ? I have been needing someone that really knows what they are doing. And I really feel like that person is you. I have gone through it all the cheap and expensive way! I need help please!
yea I'm downtown San Francisco, right by the transamerica building :)
ellebangs awesome! I would love to book a consultation with you. Please let me know how you can be reached. Thank you!
I used a toner with with a 20 developer on all of my hair (balayaged bleached) and the top that wasn't bleached lightened and turned brassy. can I fix this???
'When you're in the zone and on this flow.'
😂😂 you would be SO lucky for a chance in her videos. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
i love these kinda videos your seriously great at fixing everyones hair haha
your amazing and your hair is flawless tbh 😂❤️
love this series girl!!
Hi, if i have highlights and want to brighten them would the toner 09T plus the gloss work or would it not do much :)
I am currently in cosmetology school and I have found your videos very helpful ☺️
I'm not a hair stylist and I followed ok...there are directions in the description. Thank you for this video!
THANK YOU for clarifying after zone one (the first inch) that it's a color correction therefore more time, more product and more money! I have SO many new guests that come in that haven't had a touch up in months and have 4-5 inch new growth and I try telling them I'm going to have to use multiple formulas and more color in general to get them back to normal therefore it will be a little pricier. A lot of them don't understand because they think "it's just their roots" lol
Love all your videos. You are a amazing Hair Stylist. If I'm ever in San Francisco I would make it my #1 priority to see if i could get my hair done by you.
I love how you fixed this womens hair you definitely take pride in your work.
I need to meet someone like you in San Diego.
Thank you for all your tips.
It looks so pretty! Nice job.
I glad I found you I have been doing coloring my hair for years and you are a very good teacher .. easy to understand ... thank you so much for the formulas ... because even though most of us understand about the science behind coloring ... if you have done your research .. experience is key ... not all brands work the same ... and not all hair react the same ... am a goldwell user .. but will be investing in redken and give them a try ....love your content
You did an amazing job, wish you were in Scotland 🏴. My hairdresser is really good, he actually lightens my hair with a lower volume than my last hairdresser and never needs a toner xxx
Love your passion and artistry!
I love this series
I am enjoying this new series you are doing! I wondered if you could give equivalent colors to use from another line (for instance Wella) for those of us who do our own coloring and don't have access to Redken? Thanks!
awesome job
i wish u were in my country u are such a good professional
love the series
Wow that turned out amazing
love ur videos really makes us hairstylist think out side the box if you can could u make a video on how to use the highlifts on dark hair grow like this one i see many other videos a ppl dont know how to use it as good as you how is it that u make it look like a nice color with out all those harsh tones
You're a major inspiration to me! Thx ❤️
Thank you for all your advice! You are awesome!
can you do more of these videos thanks love your style of doing hair seriously your the best hands down
Hi, need help! I used a highlight kit to add more blonde which was successful, however it's a very brassy yellow blonde. Should I use a wella toner to bring to a cool toned blonde or a high lift cool color? And for a buttery cool toned blonde what do you recommend? Thank you so much :) learning so much from your videos and so thankful you're on UA-cam for all of us who can't come see you but very much in need of your help! You're the best
Thank you for sharing!!!! I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I was looking for tips for beauty school and came across your page. I absolutely love your hair.
soooo incredibly helpful!!
girl, you are a pro!!!!
I'm literally thinking of taking a trip to California and stopping in to get my hair done by you. Mind you I live in DC! 😄
In the video you said you used shades 6ash and 9t for her roots but in the description bar below you show different numbers ?
What volume did you use when her hair was weaved with the lightner and what volume for the highlift color?
I love this series! This one particular caught my eye as my hair is almost exactly like the before pic & I want the after result! LOL I do my own hair with products from Sally's. I found it hard to follow the step by step....maybe it was just me..... Any tips for how to do this at home?
I added some balayage highlights and after bleaching I used a wella t18 toner with 30 developer. I left it on for 30 minutes and it turned all my brown hair orangey. What do you suggest I do to fix it. HELP!
how do you keep from staining blonde ,i had to tone cause its bright yellow and it turns dark orange because of my brown root caught some toner . how to tone the light blond ,even 3 minutes does it
Gorgeous!!! That's the colour I want
Hi! Help! I have the same hair, but I want to leave my roots dark brown and only lighten the brassynombre in the ends. What blonde dye should I use that works only on bright hair not dark brown? Please help! Thanks!
Loveeee that you use redken based terms #loveyourvideo!
I really enjoy your videos your art is amazing
what was the kind of high lift product you used?
i love this!!! I love your explanations.
I'm annoyed.... I bleached my hair TWICE! ... it got to a light yellow at the roots and a good orange yellow everywhere else...
then I dyed it with an ash blonde with vol 30...
then I toned it with an Wella T18....
it's still orange/yellow!
I really wanted an ash blonde ...????
I had med brown hair and I bleached it ..I have 7NWB NATURAL WARM BEIGE WARM BLONDE... will that take the orange brassy out
What's your recommendation on bleaching powder? Besides the ones from Sally's?
& your amazing (:
I NEED HELP!!! I have gold/yellow/orange hair right now and I want to get white hair!! What toner should I use???
Hey I have a question I bleached my hair and some parts came out lighter then I wanted. Almost white. Whats the best way to go a light beige blonde
Thank you for your videos. I do my hair at home since I can't leave home for longer and I have a question. My natural hair is about 7. I have it lightened with box dye up to 9. I would like to go brighter to tone it more ashy with redken shades. I thought of trying to start lifting the roots to 9 instead of box dye and using blue champoo as a temporary measure and when it grows out the box dye part lifting it a bit more to tone it. What do you think? Will I end up with a disaster? I know that you get orange roots after lifting but in my case with the next wash and a good shampoo it kind of gets corrected by itself
Can you tell us more about Olaplex. i know is only available to professionals. Is there anything similar that we can use at home?
I had my hair done 4 days ago and asked for balayage but that's not what I got. He basically lightened all my hair except the roots. It's very brassy and orange tones...how can I fix this and how long should I wait so I won't damage my hair? He toned it twice. From you videos I was thinking taking a hi lift and apply a blue based toner. That sounds right to me but I don't know what I'm doing!
love these videos please share more i love color correction videos thank u !!!
I loved it. Thank you. Please keep doing more videos.
When u started u said u painted in a Baylage but didn't mention products to produce the very first Baylage - could you please explain what you used to do that?
ok. so it does not matter how long your hair is you do have ends. that is good to hear. I watched a video about bleaching and a pixie cut that did not turn out good. And I made a comment about the bleaching process ans someone dared to say that she ( the model) did not have ends cuz the hairdresser had cut her hair and I was like wtf? your hair is supposed to have ends cuz it has to end somewhere.
Madelyn Grullon 😂 that last sentence
I'm in India and I'm dying for you to work on my hair. YOU are brilliant!!!! Good going girl 😊😊
Her hair looks great. I love the color, how long was the whole process takes?
I wish you were my hair stylist.. ugh, the struggle is real.
Where is your saloans
Where are you and I would look to be in your video,I am 68 with roots and the wrong color hair
Hi i was wondering how to get the brassy orange out of just roots. The ends toned but some parts of the roots are very gold orange.
Hi!! So this is what I want done to my hair! I am actually coming to see you next weekend. I was just hoping if you might say how much getting that done cost from dark dyed hair to that pretty balayage blonde.
Thanks!!
That is gorgeous!
You are great! Would you do a series of really dark high warm pigment to blond clients. Ie Hispanic or Asian women ? Thanks
Wow, so talented. Wish I could go to you. You're amazing.
I just got a balayage, not much of my roots show but my hair is orange-ish on top... Can I use the 12A + 20 volume on all of my hair, including roots? I don't want them to turn orange
hi! I was wondering why was the highlight color applied to zone 2 before the color was applied to zone 1. in my mind, I'm thinking reverse would be easier, but I'm sure there is a reason for doing zone 2 then 1.
I loved this ! Oh how I wish you lived near me for some classes
great video. very good information. what was the first thing you used on her ends
How do you fix hair that has been highlighted, but half are warm and half are cool and it's on grey hair and they don't want to color the grey so it looks more natural as it grows out.
Agora entendo o porque que o toner nao tirou o brassy do meu cabelo.. 🙄 Aprendi bastante. Muito obg pela ajuda Silvia 😚
So to be clear on the yellowish tips you only applied 10v with olaplex???
What will 10N look like if i use it on brassy hair? Will it work making it Neutral blending with blonde?
i have not touched up my blonde hair in 9months. how can i make my hair ombre effect and blend between my black roots and homey blonde ends
Can u please let us know what shampoo and other product should we use for this kind of colour? I have this colour five days ago and feel it is turning golden :(
