Absolutely the way you should run this truck. I have a Mojave EXB and I was making the mistake to try backflips with it. Nope, it didn't go well. But now I just do long distance and not high jumps, which it can do. And I mostly run it without jumping it. It's so much fun! This bigger truck is a beast. I've seen it at a LHS.
Ive got just about every Losi model (and several others) but my go to electric is the Super Rock Rey. I have 3 of them. I also have a mint (literally never even been turned on) SBR V1. My favorite Losi is the 5ive T and i havent had to worry about how much battery i have left with that other than in my transmitter.
I love mine! I have this, the Arrma Mojave, and the Traxxas UDR and I can’t get enough. I’ve put mine through some VERY rough shit and have wrecked it very hard and have only broken the plastic piece on one of the tie rods.
Don’t waste your money on one of these UNLESS you have access to a good dirt area to run them. I loved mine. But I was running mine at a construction site. It got finished and I couldn’t find another. So only grass and pavement for me after that and yeah no fun at all
Hell yeah I just picked up the king off road shock editions bro i live in detroit Michigan and i plan on going and tearing some dirt and sand this spring
I’ve sold mine since this video as I’d mainly run it at construction sites but I have no good place to run it anymore. Grass and road is boring with them and they roll a lot on those two things. If I had a place with dirt tho I’d still own it they’re so much fun.
Yeah! it is really fun. surprisingly the most expensive 1/5 scale cars are not normally that fast. I am in for rally cars and converted a short course track into a rally car 1/7 and that is what I am going to test tomorrow in a place similar to yours. thanks for the video.
I have yet to take mine on dirt. I’ve been upgrading it for almost a year. Over a grand in vitavon. Waiting on front and rear splinded shafts from exocaged. I mainly run 6s. Power plant stock is pretty good plenty of power. Would be cool to go sensored but really don’t need it.
Great review. It's actually great to see this amazing RC Truck being run abd not bashed and being shot to the moon over jumps. 75 Percent power is adequate... I'm thinking of getting one. Between this or a Traxxas UDR...
I’ve sold mine unfortunately. I would always run this thing in dirt (construction sites) but they all got finished and I only could run it on grass or street and it wasn’t the same
How did your modifications to help with the chassis roll go? Seeing this thing flip easily across many videos is concerning, always ruins the fun a bit to have to walk over and flip it back up. Oh also thanks for the video, I also enjoy the desert truck mini experience and just watching the suspension and handling
I typically get 45-50 minutes of run time with mine on 6s. That's running on short grass. I don't think I've ever "floored" it because I run it in my yard which is .9 acres. It can get from one corner to the other in the blink of an eye and besides it digs a small trench in my grass which ain't happening. Oh, and I usually run it on 50%.
How long can you run that thing pinned? Before it dies? Just curious ? I've got a Losi 5ive T2.0 . But am debating maybe one of these might get a Losi5ive B actually and electric convert
Trophy trucks are expensive race trucks built by perfesonals that’s why they cost that much a pre runner is a every day truck converted with long travel and everything set up like a trophy truck but only cost 75-200k
You need the second set of shock pistons without springs in the rear. Otherwise it's going to keep dragging its butt around, which is completely uncharacteristic of any real trophy truck. Lots of us are doing it now and it makes all the difference in the world. Drives better. Looks better. No more traction rolls. No donkey kicking and it brings out the true inspiration of this design.
@@Shloppie dude grab a non EXB Mojave! They RIP right out of the box and handle a TON of abuse! I’ll have an interesting video up of mine with a weird set up by next week
I have this truck (blue version) and the UDR. I like the size and scale of the UDR better. Sometimes these r/cs can be a little too big and costly. Lodi missed the mark on detail too. Don’t get me wrong but sit it side by side with the UDR and you’ll see the difference. Traxxas managed to create more running time realism. Just my opinion. I expected a little more from this Losi truck but it fell a little short for me.
I gotta get around to posting my “why I sold my SBR” video. It was fun at the beginning. But long story short my dirt spot I had got shut down and these things are not fun on grass or pavement.
Very nice video!!! I like a lot this RC and am was thinking to buy (instead that I have the similar rc arrma mojave v2) !!! But of the other side am afraid to buy course of the body!!!! Instead that it is good rc and strong the body it is lit a bit fragility, resulting in you not being able to play it As You Want so too not fallen down and to make it a damage or crack!!! Really difficult decision 🙂
I actually sold mine. There are much better options out there. I think putting the money you would spend on this truck half of that into your Mojave and the other half in more batteries for it you would be happier
I have the 1.0 of this on 6s and it’s ridiculous and pretty much unusable. As far a being punchy it’s absurd the power it has. They run mine on 8s and have been before this 2.0. Mine hits 52-55mph on 2 6s 8,000mah 100c batteries. There’s really no point in the 8s but hey welcome to America 😝
I sold mine unfortunately. My few dirt spots I had to bash at all got finished (construction sites) and all I have really is grass or street and it’s not that fun on those terrains
6 mins runtime? Dayum, I was thinking about pulling the trigger on this but that's a buzzkill. Running my XMaxx 8s 6200mah gets me over 20 mins running like that. Shame, because that's how I run, X is barely off the ground.
@@midwestern_rc thanks for the heads up, almost a critical error there, selling a couple rc's on the Bay, intended to drop the money on this. Been hankering for something like since building a yesterday xl kit years ago (shame the plastics were made of liquorice).
@@curbscrape8343 yeah that’s been my other issue. How fragile the plastics are. Mainly the body. It’s probably going to get worse as it gets colder too. I’m having like weird glitchy issues now too with it. I still love it. But yeah. No Rc is perfect 🥲
@@midwestern_rc I'm from southern California and have raced full size trucks in the Baja 1000 and this truck you have is as close to the real thing. Great video and can't wait to see you're next video brother. 😎😎👍👍🌴🌴🏁🏁💯💯
@@midwestern_rc yeah, but it would be cool if they kept the same platform for the SBR 2.0, but understandably it pretty much the same at the front end.
Going from 75% throttle to 100% throttle on 8S 11:18
You are spot on. Another place it shines is whoops and table top jumps.
Awesome Baja Rey 2.0 Bought my 1/6 Baja rey 2.0 at Amazon one week ago before Christmas 2022 on sale for $769.00 absolutely ❤ it. 😁👍🏼

Plenty of power and it handles like a dream. I agree it's not a basher. 💯
Such a pleasure to drive and watch it tear up the dirt. Gonna be doing more videos with this thing for sure it’s such a riot to drive.

100% correct on scale running,,just regular small jumps and scale driving fun👍👌👌

Ended up selling it. Don’t do it. Not worth it. Just get a Mojave
@@midwestern_rc thats sad to hear. Definitely scared to buy a losi, lots of stories like that. But they look so cool :(
@ they’re a really shitty company. They spend more on marketing than they do trying to keep parts in stock.
I love the truck. Makes for good filming!
Facts 🤝
U gotta get the lectron pro battery 2x4s packs,,you get an easy 20min,,more on moderate running
Yes, I am going to pull the trigger on one.
Looks so fun, a tad a slow, maybe the 6S with an small pinion isn't as fast as 8S. would love to see it with a bigger pinion or at 8s.
hey thanks for sharing the video, Im from chicago suburbs too. What do you think its better? super baja rey or traxxas udr?
Super baja rey for sure
ZD Racing dbx07 is a beast at all with a few minor upgrades of course
Never heard of those. Just looked one up. Might have to grab 👀
yeah man love the rc\
Can’t wait to go out and use this beast again. Not as fun in grass but it’s so great in dirt.

Not long man. Like 5-6 min tops. And the battery trays aren’t very big so it’s not like you can run higher mah batteries
