Does anybody have a 1/10 brushless system they don't need?
With this rig you really have to treat it like a real Trophy truck. With that much suspension travel it creates a ton of body roll so ya gotta understeer into the corners and power throttle out letting the tires loose traction and kick that ass end out and then drift steer er back out again. Kinda like what dirt track racers do. With that 8s power it awesome. That's why the Brenthel Trophy Truck has 1,000 HP!!
great bash earl... Glad to see you run it in the terrain it's made for 🔥 🔥 🔥 I like that thing man.... 💪🏾
Nice to see the two of these together in one vid. Really shows how different they really are and why you might want one more than the other depending what your into.
This is the best rc video. The sand and jumps look like fun.
Nice to see. That desert truck just looks great in the sand.
Congrats on your new Losi SBR looks great and the shock adjustments made a solid performer out of it...Stay Safe..thanx for then video
Thanks 🙏
All smiles with this one, Earl! Good adjustments with the suspension and good driving. Glad you had fun with it out there.
Thanks 🙏
Looks so much more at home in the desert, especially on that straight section you were running along😎👍
Thanks 🙏
That look like alot of fun with those 2 monsters out there ripping in the dirt 👍🏾💪🏾💯
Thanks 🙏
EARL...definitely 2 of the hobbies best line of units,,,,great video.....🇺🇸👈
Thanks 🙏
Man Earl, great scenery out there. Love seeing that rig blasting through the dirt and sand.
Thanks 🙏 the Baja race from California to Vegas run thru here pretty cool place 👍👍💯💯💯
I could not stop watching this video so much fun when you do your reviews on the independent car those are great videos but putting the king of the ring in there quadruples the pleasure of watching this video you should include the king of the ring in all your videos that way we can see what it looks like in real world because we know what the Xmaxx does so to see side-by-side comparison really is educational when purchasing an RC.
Thanks 🙏
Very satisfying footage!
Thanks and keep enjoying that Losi!
BTW great driving
Thanks 🙏
Love🤩my 1/10 raptor so much that I bought a second raptor. I then bought almost every aluminum/carbon fiber I could find (not the rear axle or the wheels yet) Thank You Losi!!
Nice 👍
What an awesome RC, cool footage in the desert. 👍👍
Thanks 🙏
Sweet sand surfing, so happy to hear you digging on your hobby... 🤩BB
Thanks 🙏
Catching up with some older stuff of yours. Hope to see you back there bashing. Awesome spot 👍
Fuuuuuurk, what a great vid. I’s denating what to get. An Xmaxx or the SBR2.0 .they both suit different ‘needs’ and do a great job in their own way.... this video makes it even harder.
Thanks 🙏
Seems to handle very well in the environment. Awesome.
Yes it truly does 👍💯💯
The Losi is Mean!!
But.... its so Hard to Not Like the Xmaxx!!! That Big-Mama Always Bashes like no other! 🏋🏼♂️
Right xmaxx is a beast 💯💯
Great rip Earl looks amazing.👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏
Great vid Earl love it in the desert, that's an ideal spot. Kind of you also to give your pal a blast. Definitely agree with your suspension ajustment. This vid made great viewing 👍.
Thanks 🙏
Lost a front driver side wheel nut and both right and left rear body mount screws wallered out on my first run on 8S other than that badass truck👏👏👏👏👍👍😁 also did my shock adjustment as you mentioned thanks again awesome video can't wait to get my 2.0 back out again😉
Nice glad it was an easy fix 👍👍💯💯💯💯
Enjoyed the bashing !
Thanks 🙏
Sweet I like it
Thanks 🙏
Really cool vid Earl! What a location!
I like your honest opinion!!! Took me awhile to tune my SRR ! Awesome trucks!
Yes I agree 💯💯👍👍👍
Wow, those must be some tuff light bars
That 1:6 scale has a unique sound...really robust!!
That guy jumps like a God dang mad man! Lol I like it.
Hahahahaha yes he does he don’t care at all 🙏🙏💯💯💯
This video has my interest in this truck renewed! No kidding...after that short vid in front of your house, I wasn't sold on this truck but the suspension adjustments seem to be key. She was jumping like she should and nobody can argue it wasn't being run for what it's meant for (too much noise from internet land - lol!). Good job and look forward to seeing more video of this truck! But hey, my X-Maxx is still my favorite RC so far!!!!
I agree thanks 🙏 me to xmaxx is to much fun with no worries 👍👍💯💯💯
The shock adjustment made a major difference. Nice rip👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Yes it did seems to be pretty stable I’ve jumps now 👍👍💯💯🙏🙏
Man, that thing looked GLORIOUS in its natural habitat 🤩🤙 awsome bash vid earl 👊👊🤙👍
Thanks 🙏
That’s a great spot
It sure is a great spot about 1.5 hours from my house but worth it so I test at home so I won’t have issue 💯💯💯
Wow. Never realized how big the losi actually was!
I’m definitely getting both
Very cool 💯💯😁😁😁
Like you said get out and have some fun with a rc,looks like you guys had a blast!
Definitely did 😂😂🔥🔥💯💯👍👍👍
Tuning the shocks helped it out quite a bit! That SBR 2 looked fantastic in the desert! They did a good job making a big desert truck that can do that! Great video. Definitely wanting to see what you do with the Mojave out there!
Thanks 🙏
Great run
Thanks 🙏
Nice , I would love to hit that spot with my trucks . Awesome bash and that Baja Rey look good flying down that path 😎
Thanks 🙏
Very nice bashing spot!
Thanks 🙏
Nice bash Earl it runs nice in the dirt. Fun Fun thats my kind of bashing dirt and small jumps 👊👍
Yes jumping just enough to not break everything 💯💯👍👍👍
Looks like fun. I love my brenthel edition I also bash at Central Park in saugus Hope to see you there one of these days
Very cool 👍👍💯💯💯💯
Awesome vid...
Thanks 🙏
Looks great and is inspiration for me to get another slash 4x4 vxl and customizing it for an on road monster look.
Nice 👍
That’s a nice spot to run
Thanks 🙏
Good stuff here Earl. Fun place to run. I dont think I have seen you run here before. Your daughters Big Rock would be at home in those burms too.
Thanks 🙏 I’ve run here in a lot of videos the Baja run from California to Vegas run bye this area 👍👍💯💯💯💯
So much better out there on the sand with those suspension adjustments. Now that's how I expected to perform. Now time to find a desert in NY🤣
Yes but I’m scared the rear won’t hold up as it’s real weak 👍👍💯💯💯
I run mine with the rear springs all the bottomed out the front raised up and it makes A HUGE DIFFERENCE !!!
Nice spot there for a few runs! Nice vid!
Thanks 🙏
@@earlmoorhead5555 hey bud I hate to bug, did you get a chance to get those measurements on the SBR tires?
Awesome bashing man!!
Thanks 🙏
I have the baja rey put in a 3s and it rips! Nice truck
Nice 👍
Hi Earl
Great bash in the desert. I've got truck on order can't wait. Your shock adjustments looked spot on. First 5 mins of the vid I was nervous that the Losi wasn't going to behave. I have a feeling if you had 2 desert trucks the xmaxx would have stayed clean.
Finally we can buy an RTR and not have to worry about weak points and steering upgrades.
Still shots at the end should be framed and replace the family portraits!
Thanks 🙏
From what i can see the idea with the rey is a realism. looks like it would be great for an RC racing series with all the same cars. the traditional chassis like a krayton or xmass or erevo will handle far superior and stay planted. the video clearly shows this
Not really SBR way superior to XMAX
I wonder if some camber in the front wheel would help it from digging in and rotating the truck so much, will take a look tomorrow when mine arrives :)
Nice video Earl! By the way, what rc don't you have!! I'm jealous!
Great to see it up against the xmaxx I think heavier oil in the rear shocks might slow the rear bounce, nice video
Thanks 🙏
I was literally about to say the same thing! Specifically, try increasing the rear ride height with the spring preload but also compensate for the increased rebound by using a heavier weight oil. Might take a few tries to find the right weigh oil but it will definitely help with the rear end kicking up! I did this to my Axial trophy truck a few years ago and it worked perfectly.
👍👊🤙
Pretty cool vid! The losi is handling that deep sand really good, jumpin pretty good, definitely has some power. How much you want to bet your friend goes and gets that losi at your LHS?
I thinks he’s going for sure 😂😂💯💯💯
This video made me want to get the 2.0 just a little more. Lol. Thanks a lot 😝 Just what I needed. If it keeps going this way, I'll have more money in the hobby than 3/4 the popular of the country has in their 1:1 vehicles. I'm already only $2k shy of what my brother paid for his 2012 Chevy Silverado just in the RCs alone.
Yes I know the feeling 💯💯👍👍
Guess I'm doing ok at around 3k for two with lots of upgrades.
I’d say that’s about right 🤪🤪💯💯💯
I have mines coming in the next batch to be sent out
Hey Earl hope you have a air compressor to clean off the truck after you are done bashing it and excellent video you have it in it's natural element
Thanks 🙏 and I do 👍👍💯💯💯
I'd prefer the sbr 2.0 over the Xmaxx any day.
The xmaxx is a completely different truck.
Definitely way different u have a scale rig vs a monster truck
Great testing guys. I own a SBR v1 and an Erevo v1. The Losi is a desert racer, not a jumper, never will be. For bashing and jumping I pick the Erevo hands down.
Nice 👍
yes i agree the suspension on the rey is realistic but it will not handle anywhere near something like the krayton.
⭐️The SBR 2.0 Loves being on camera. Good to know the suspension tweaks man a lot of difference⭐️
Thanks 🙏
What suspension tweaks bro?
it seems to me (as a total noob) that the back shocks could use thicker oil for the bigger jumps
The SBR could use some 3d printed lightweight wheels/tires to replace the heave current ones in the back. Wonder how much difference in handling that would make.
Yes might help 🤔🤔
It because its already to soft in the rear. 85wt shock oil and stiffen the springs a little
Nice video bro! AMAZING! New suscriber! Regards! LIKE
Thanks 🙏
Appreciate the support 💯💯🔥🔥
@@earlmoorhead5555 You are welcome friend!
Original settlers came thru with horse and wagon. Now we play we with tiny trucks bashing and kicking up the sand.
Earl, Meat curtains here.. how did you adjust the suspension? Just turning the threaded thing on the shocks? I live in Illinois so theres no desert here and ill mostly be on gravel, grass, mud and asphalt so i think im going to go with like 80 weight shock oils. I also plan to use way thicker fluids in the diffs. Any recommendations?
Yes adjustment is the spring tension if you add thicker oil in the rear 80 weight it will have a ton of issue in my opinion as the rear body flex is to much and to stiffen up the rear will amplify this issue front will be ok rear need to move and bottom out to support the tires 💯💯👍👍👍
Great videos! Question for you: what do you think is more fun overall, a stock 8S X-Maxx or the SBR 2.0 on 8S? I currently have a stock UDR and stock E-Revo 2.0 both running on 6S. I don't have a ton of money to spend on RC so I am debating on either keeping these two or selling them both to fund a new X-Maxx or SBR 2.0. I've always been pulled to the X-Maxx, just seems like an absolutely fun vehicle. The SBR 2.0 really catches my eye though, seems to be a little faster, has the LED light kit from the factory etc. Obviously very different vehicles in design etc but both right about $900 and both somewhat similar size. I kind of just want one ultimate do it all RC truck and I could see either of these two filling that description. If you could let me know your thoughts from first hand experience I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance
Hope u went with xmaxx?
Like #76 great location to run that beast whats your honest thoughts on this truck
It’s a fun truck but I feel the rear of this truck running this way jumping will break apart the tires are to heavy on the rear and the rear chassis flex is to much 💯💯👍👍👍
Good to see you out in the desert having fun with the SBR and your XMAXX buddy. What's your opinion between the SBR and the DBXLE 2.0?
Thanks 🙏
For him xmaxx is king always 💯💯👍👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 You have a DBXLE-2.0 right? I was wondering if you have enough time with the SBR to make a comparison to the DBXLE. Thanks.
@@ronclarke8546 the dbxle 2.0 is built way better I just wish the steering was as good as the SBR 2.0 other than the steering I like the Dbxle 2.0 better for sure 👍👍💯💯💯💯
@@earlmoorhead5555 Looks like the SBR 2.0 has the best steering of any Losi? The DBXL - E has provisions for dual servos - I wonder if that would improve it - or is it the steering mechanism/design holding it back?
I got the super baja rey the first one and I love it..I tink have better stability than this new super baja rey ..I bashing mine doing jumps 15ft.high ..and landing like kitty kat ..I cant say the same of the super rock rey wich I got too .and is very difficult to control when doing air...the super rock rey allways landing nose down and break suspension parts..but my super baja rey its the Queen of the air bashing...even better than x max wich I got one too
So you live out here near me then. I go to high desert hobbies as well. I'm like 5 min from them lol.
Nice 👍
what are you using to record you speed runs
Sky rc and a bike gps 👍👍💯💯
Losi should make a 1/10 version of it like they did before
👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 they Do!!
BHR 2.0 seems to handle great....
It handle great now and it’s a fun rc I feel it won’t hold up time will tell 💯💯👍👍👍
is this spot in the palmdale/lancaster area? im here in the lancaster area and have been to high desert hobbies. i own a baja rey also and bash in the desert. maybe i will see u around sometime. also theres a killer bmx track off L8 and 30th somebody built in lot and its awsome for bashing
It’s in lake Los Angeles 160th street dead end there 👍👍👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 nice man! Not far from me at all! Gonna have to go check it out over there. If youre ever in west lancaster and looking for a killer bash spot that spot on L8 and 30th is killer. In an open lot southern side of L8 somebody built a kiler bmx track top quality open to anyone anytime. Killer jumps whoops sections and banked turns. Also good long speed run areas and crawler spots too. Im a baja truck guy too and bash there. Maybe i will see you around brotha. Love the vids and advice keep em coming!!!
If you can adjust you camber try negative camber in the front should put more pressure on the inside of the tire and not the outside making it less likely to roll
Thanks appreciate that I’ll try it
Where is that? That’s exactly the type of spot I want to run my EREVO 2.0
That area is built on now
Is this more robust than the Unlimited Desert Racer 4x4 from Traxxas?
Can't decide which to buy...
Yes
👍👍
Its fast, losi , u just gatta know how to drive it
Heey Earl! How are you doing ? I have a question.. i want to trade my o8s rtr for a baja rey 2.0. Wahts your opinion on the Baja Rey 2.0?
Greatings from Holland.
Ted
The Baja Rey a great desert truck but not a basher like the outcast 8s more of a flat speed rc in the desert 👍👍👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 thanks for your awnser! Is it a durable truck? Or a lot broken on the truck?
Would it not kick the rear end up if you take the two spares off?
Yes it slows the rebound on the rear end for sure 👍👍
Rattlesnakes, I'd be wearing boots out in that desert.
🤣🤣👍👍
in this video, were you running the SBR on 8s or 6s
8s
Thanks. I have an xmaxx. I was between the sbr 2.0 and the dxbl
Is the SBR 2.0 faster than it predecessor the SBR?
Yes seems to be faster 👍👍
Did you use the AVC - does not look like it? I have one and the AVC at about 40% is awesome. Dude with the XMax has no clue how to jump🤣
No avc turned on 👍👍
Sorry but I'm taking the Losi. But X Maxx your still amazing
i like the way the baja looks but that xmaxx takes that terrain like its nothing. i think the baja needs a shock oil and/or spring change.
I think your right 💯💯👍👍👍
The back is kicking up due to the back now being to low it's bottoming out causing the back to kick up put the set the back to the original height it will take the bumps better without kicking the back up .
Yep 👍
Is the Losi broken in, or is this 1st run? The suspension is not absorbing the shock. It shouldn't bounce 2 times. It should land with one bend. When you jump that high it's gonna bottom out. 1/5 scale jumping 10 feet is a 50 foot jump with a real size...
Second run 👍👍
Oh man. Doesn't the sand get into everything?! I'd be paranoid...
Yes it does but I run only a few desert trucks here knowing clean up sucks 😁😁
I mean isn’t that what they are for i take both my xmaxx and udr to glamis no issues
I stay away from the beaches due to the type of sand kills my motors and bearings to quick the Mojave’s don’t care about sand last the longest traxxas seems to hold the sand for some reason 👍👍💯💯💯
I wonder how that losi compares to the mojave
Losi alit bigger 👍👍💯💯💯
Hard to beat a xmaxx, for bashing
Yes 💯💯
the weight of the spare tires on top is making it flip.
Yes 💯👍
Trust me when I tell you that you NEED the weight of the tires to keep the ass end planted! The problem is too light an oil in the rear shocks from Losi! Really, they should have also used a slightly stiffer spring rate paired with heavier weight oil.
I would raise the back up so it doesn't bottom out so much and go up on the shock oil just a bit then you will see it act like you want it to
The back needs to bottom out due to the chassis flex it the rear if not if you add thicker oil the back will act like a whip and fling the back around like on my speed bump you can see the bad flex when I pull it off the bush 👍👍💯💯💯
where is this at
Lake Los Angeles ca 💯💯
