The duality of Bernardo's greetings :
"I'm here with the one and only John Danaher, always a pleasure"
vs
"Placido."
😂😂😂😂😂 pobre placido
I feel like I would advance belt colors if I got to hug John Danaher just once in my life
One does not simply hug John, Danaher hugs you.
But if you hug Bernardo you’d become a better person. Hug Gordon and you need clomid.
You have to wear a rash guard.
@@SimonSez83 at least a $1000 tuxedo rash guard
Best comment
Danaher is the Catch wrestling prophet Jiu-jitsu desperately needed: leg locks, takedowns and top control.
Catch wrestling did such a good job at it that there’s literally 0 high level catch wrestlers winning anything in modern submission grappling 🤦♂️
@@antufcti - That's not true! Wait, never mind. Your right.
@@antufcti how many mma fghters are bjj black belts? It's not that many.
@@yaboi-km2qn with an exception of combat sambo( who trained essential chokes since young age anyways) guy islam. well pereira is brown belt, edwards and strickland black belt, aspinall black belt. pathy mix top 3/4 of bantam in world ( bellator champ but trust me excvet usman/merab and o malleu/yan he is for sure better than rest and i think he can beat them all) is black belt and uses many submissions. you asked lol? pantoja flyweight black belt, volk brown belt ( also has craig jones as trainer) so yeah bro...
Catch wrestling is a myth nowadays.
14:52 Yo the calf kick by Danaher was lethal, I didn't know my boy got moves like that.
he used to coach mma. Lot of striking. He's actually well rounded
Loved these techniques. My grandma didn’t stand a chance!
what do you mean?
Do you not hold those techniques as effective?
A great Sensei of mine taught me, don’t think in moves, or throws, think in systems. This ties into that.
yeah like words in a conversation
Here’s a million dollar idea, Danaher. Include drilling games that we can do w this Info that programs the athletes through play.
gotta pay for that lol
Ask your local HS wrestling coach this question
🙂
Learned so much in less than 20 minutes…love this 💩
I really appreciate how the highly respected and accomplished Danaher calls out Sport BJJ's weaknesses in takedowns and keeping people down. When other people say it they get accused of just trying to hate on BJJ or just not knowing what it's really like... lol
New game for the weekend once training is done. Find a Bernardo video and every time he says "incredible" you take a shot.
Hi I tried this and ended up in the emergency room
I think the ruleset should be 2 points for the opponent if you pull guard (the equivalent of a takedown). I think that would address the weaknesses that John refers to because it would force them to work for a takedown or risk giving 2 since there would be a penalty for pulling guard. Additionally no one would pull guard in a self defense situation thus it shouldn't be encouraged in a BJJ sport situation.
Who better to learn from than this legend. :)
I'm sure I saw John Danaher wearing a Jungle fightwear rashguard at a seminar last summer. I HAVE to see him do the animal combat talk in one of these
Awesome stuff, Jiu Jitsu REALLY needs this
This is basic wrestling/grappling
This is absolute gold - no one beats John. He makes everything so clear and gives such a great conceptual approach rather than just techniques - amazing
John has to be one of the best instructors in the world. Now if he could only compress or speed up his talking.
Playback speed 1.5
Please buy some mics that attach to the rash guard
🔥🔥🔥💯beautiful
I was over at my son's house, and his dog was dragging its butt across the living room carpet as dogs will do, and my son sternly says, "No jujitsu!"
I loved that joke when I first heard it like 6 years ago.
Does someone know where we could buy the rash guard that is worn by John?
Only fans special
Future kimono : water edition I believe
Bernardo, thanks for all these videos! Please invest in better sound. 👊🏼🤙🏼
I can't hear John when he talks ,put a mike on his rashguard please .
Placido looking stronger 👀
He’s been running starting strength
I agree with Danaher, and I'd actually like to see a rule change here to make BJJ a little closer to real life defense situations. Maybe if the match ends in a tie then the guy who is pulling guard loses. Maybe something for being able to stand up as well.
The video I needed most please let there be a knee pick
Look at Henry cejudos video on his c shape head block
What level Black belt is john ?
He’s the best coach in the world his level doesn’t matter
Placido is chunking up a bit
those are the loudest mats ever
Placido got jacked!
Who else put the captions on ?? 🙋
Me, JD is talking quiet nad using difficult words
8:05
In other words, learn how to Wrestle/Judo
Did you expect takedowns that jiu jitsu created?
@@MattdoesJJ I mean, you're either trying to be a smart ass or you're just incapable of realizing that bjj hasn't really invented any takedowns in comparison to wrestling/judo? Always an asshole like yourself in the comments.
Don't worry, they'll all be renamed to cover the tracks.
Judo hard to utilize in no gi and mma because not having lapel or collar make throws super hard. Also there’s a propensity to slip and give up your back after the throw is complete.
@@danieldiaz9948 Thats why you use Underhooks & overhooks. Judo guys transitioning to nogi can learn Greco-Roman grips and include their judo leg reap trips/throws & sweeps. But huge emphasis on under & overhooks.
where is best takedowns ?
This is unwatchable on mobile due to low volume.
I watched fine
huuge honor for meee
Danaher creating sambo but bjj heavy instead of wrestling heavy. Lol
Be like water
Real talk: his students don't have good takedowns. 🤷♀️
maybe none are excellent but then in the world of jitz, who is? Even excellent wrestlers end up having less-than-ideal looking takedowns in grappling rules. but you have to admit taking meregali from a dude who knows close to 0 about wrestling to taking people down and throwing them in ADCC is pretty legit.
Gordon Ryan has decent takedowns for a guy who isn’t very explosive
@@benhallo1553 in the training room. Is he scoring points in competitions?
@@nathantheophilus4856 you're right I do. Good point. But he's also an unnatural freak.
ah yes, Garry Tonon and Nicky Rod, well known for not having good wrestling
Then you get punched in the face then you waķeup
These techniques are NOT new or innovative in any way. This is foundational grappling that ANY 1year combat athlete should know.
