Why are there no boxing gyms? Thai, jits, grappling... all coach technique. Boxing gyms are just a conditioning class. Id like a video of how to structure a boxing training session for coaches. Love boxing. 2 gyms near me. Just want people in the door to do circuits. Not a single technique taught.

A very well timed video for me. I'm a college student that boxes 2-3 times a week. The coaches in the gym I go to aren't the best teachers and don't explain much. This channel is basically my true coach. I learn a lot here and then apply it after I get through the drills the gym coach tasks me to do. Practice the proper techniques and then try out the combos I learn.

I had food in my belly growing up but not a whole lot of extra funds. I certainly didn't have 100-200 bucks a month to spend on a boxing gym membership and still don't.
Most gyms will let you join in on a group class for free and from there on you can drop in on a group class for like 20 or 25 bucks per class. My last class the coach reminded
me of keeping the knees bent and using hips and legs to generate the power on those hooks but one thing that was new for me was standing across the bag at arms length, stepping in 1, 2 then step back to arms length again. My reach is about 68 in so pretty much everyone who is taller than 5 foot 2 has a reach advantage over me. Obviously I'm going to need to go back further than in the drill when I'm in the ring. The point of the exercise is to build muscle memory stepping a very specific distance over and over again. So that's my advice to everyone. Do some classes, learn the what and the why and then you're able to teach yourself those things when you're by yourself flashing back to those classes and those 15-30 second 1 on 1 lessons you get in the classes.

Great video. Especially the 'recording yourself' part works really well. I already did it for fencing, but at boxing training our instructor now also records the spar. I thought I was throwing decent punches, but it turned out I fought like a T-rex and never properly extended my arms. I had no idea it was that bad until I saw it. I'm probably going to give the workouts a try as well, though I'll be honest and say I'll save the last one for later. I'm in decent shape, but that one would end me.

I'm on a personal life long wish journey now to enhance on speed, power and perfect form in striking and footwork
"Special Physical Preparedness" (SPP), methodical bulletproof fitness & street defence awareness. I'm 50 now and the world has no respect for life, over the years it has got progressively worse and unsafe.
(MMA & Boxing Specific) I train 5 day split 100%/50%/100%/40%/70% Intensity MMA strongman, compound strength/power and fast twitch weights in the mornings.
Afternoon 2 times a week: Med ball & kettlebell, overcoming isometrics.
At home 3 days a week speed, power on heavy bag and 2 days on footwork/reflex/speed bag.
3 days cardio, mobility/stability/elasticity/flexability and core/abs etc etc.

Yeah I can tell people are currently dealing with this right now for example being in a boxing gym or a building being used as a gym you got fighters that are from the age of 20-30 ending their amateur boxing career to go pro but for some reason nobody is sticking to every task boxing has to offer but yet only doing 1-3 things where it's like heavy bag drills, sparring, and pad work is 100% all you do but everything else is 0% where things are unbalanced and expecting to advance and win alotta fights. Also you gotta coach that's old but can't really keep up with you and the rest of the guys but can keep up with the children and new beginners and the other two coaches are around you every now and then but not consistently especially with proper guidance and proper preparations while you and the rest of the guys atleast try to help each other out on y'all own then the coaches have the nerve to get mad at you and the rest of the others for their performances being piss poor as if its all your fault when really its half and half yours and your coaches fault.

I learned to box at home from title boxing videos. I had a speed and heavy bag and some other stuff. Then I joined a boxing gym. I had a leg up on some of the other beginners. One of the trainers wanted to get me an amateur fight. But, the owner of the gym was shady, and the gym closed. I was in my early 30s working all the time with kids, I did what I could, but it was fun sparing and training and stuff.

Short story: i loss 50 pounds by learning to box by myself. The workout 5 days a week, 3 rnds 3 min shadow box 1 min rest, 3 rnds 3 min Jump rope rest 1 minute between roind. 6 rounds heavy bag x 3 minutes eac rnd focusing on one aspect. 6 minutes double end bag. Finish with push up sit up and squats circuit. Start 10 minutes of 5 squats 5 push up and 5 sit up adjust according to fitness level. Also watch boxing videos, when in decent shape go to a boxing or mma gym. Spar. Youll be amazed. What I would have done different? 3 days a week morning session: run at least 30 minutes with neck and abs
