Dude…. I had a customers bike here in my garage for months sitting in the back since it was a no rush type of deal. Saw this video took the whole bike apart… and dude there was a piece stuck in the reed valve just like yours lol bike would start up first kick but would run stupid rich. You saved me! And just made me the $250 I needed this week LOL
Awesome!!! I received a yellow pw50 for free with another bike purchase, I assume it's early 80's. It won't start. It has an aftermarket carb, which is probably crap but seems fine inside. Still won't start. I was thinking about pulling it apart and checking the reeds. Hopefully it fixes mine. If it starts after that, I'll invest in an OEM carb and maybe rebuild the top end
Nope it just ran out of gas meng. This took me back to my son , 15 years ago man. I made sure that he had me beat so it was his 2nd birthday. ! Mine was my forth. I had a blast I built up a sick crf 150 f it’s a 04 model . I did springs and upgraded to 25 weight maxima or torco . Ordered a power jet Mikune
Good stuff . Got a 2000 model for 300.00 compression is 32 psi, gonna check that Reeeeeeeeed. Thanks and congratulations on your victory over the Rock sub scribed.
Hell yea! Thank you so much!! I have another video showing how to gain more compression if you end up using the Chinese aftermarket top end kit as well
Man now you got me thinking its reeds, i did the top end on my sons old p dub and it was good the first couple rides but now its back to taking a ton of kicks to get it running. His compression is 90 and the cylinder is a cheap chinese top end, its questionsble. Anyways thanks for the idea your kids bike sounds good!
@@brianpoirier7837 for his it was actually the shit air filter boot, it had a rip and it just wouldnt start. Got a new one and it starts first kick everytime.
Hey brother, I’m restoring an early 90s model pdub for my daughter, was just a pile of parts when I got it. Now I have it running and I’m doing the cosmetic stuff.. I see how the gas tank and front fender mount, but can’t figure out mid/rear fender.. am I missing parts or do you have to buy mounting kit or something?
Couldn't help but laugh that it sat not running for years due to a rock in the reed, and first startup after repair you didn't put a filter on it. Lol. Did the "break in" kill it?!
@@motoblast3574 would you believe, I found a little ball of something between the electrode on the spark plug of my kid's PW50 today? Looked like tiny pebble, but I have no idea, it was perfectly round. Runs great now
Thats so weird i had the same exact issue and wondered for the last 2 years how it got in there or where it came from! I cannot believe this has happened to another person😂 i thought it was just murphys law for me
Hello sir I bought the same one but after some years there was no spark but sometimes, there is . If you could make an video about I would be grateful 🙂
i picked up one for 250 $ a year ago. going to work on it this fall. came with extra parts. my kid is gona love it.
That’s awesome!!

Just picked up a 50 for 350$ 2004 and guess what’s wrong? A small piece of wood in the reeds LOL.

IT LiVES again!!!! Thank you, it was the reeds. Cleaned them up and turned them over

Gota love the way you refer to the bit of debris as a rock.😉
Is the technical term “pebble”?
@@motoblast3574 I don't know mate, must be the difference in American to English 😁, we would probably just refer to it as a bit of shit🤣
@@motoblast3574 sorry, grit,😆😆👍🏻
@@leekeyton7246 hahah i think I prefer your terminology!

Yes! The reeds are metal and they will get bent over time causing them to not seal properly.
I hope this helps!
@ryancornelius did this help?

Mine was also ripped! I replaced mine and a new plug. No start. Clean carb 90lbs and great spark. Think I'm going to look at some reeds then.
@@ryancornelius1007thank you for such a fast reply!! Glad your son's bike runs now. My daughter had a blast before it died and didn't come back

I know! It was deemed “garbage”. And no, it runs great still

Try disconnecting the kill switch at the handlebars
Was it flooding when you tried to start it
the vapor looks mint
Thank you!
that's a boogie may of came out of the last owner nose i think.
Hahahah
Boy that is one heck of a dinky little bike when its fully assembled. This looks like half of dinky. What would that be called? 😂
Nice 👍
Thank you!
