This procedure actually worked on a Dell Inspiron 3437. I was able to flash the BIOS from version A02 to A12, which is the latest available for my laptop model on the dell website. Thanks, great video.
Well done man, its exactly what I was looking for :) Been banging my head for hours trying to get the damned bios updated. Bought a new battery and charger but battery arrived discharged so was a real bitch to solve. My issue started with no charging and progressed to problem solving each individual roadblock until bios was the only thing left. Thanks again, job well done.
Thank you so much! I've been researching how to do this for 1 hour or more, but I find your video and I was able to update my BIOS without my battery. Great video!
Mate! why did I not find your channel earlier?? hahah this has really helped me with an old E6410 I've got...... GOD Bless you, your family, and your work!!! :D cheers!!
In my case you have to use -forceit instead because it says error command: /forceit when you use /forceit, it's for a dell inspiron 15 5547, upgrade from A12 to A13
Wow! I got a method from another video but it kept giving me battery error. This actually works! I got an Inspiron 5558 (5th gen i7, 8gb) I updated to A18 (from A11) and only unubtu 18.04 would work. About to try installing windows 10.
Thank you sir. This worked perfectly on my Dell Inspiron 5558. This laptop was missing its battery and on the stock BIOS. Luckily you had this nice video up to help me. Cheers!
Brother... you're the life saver man...My battery gone long time ago and i was unable to get the battery..also unable to update my Bios... But finally your method worked like a boss...thanks once again man...
That is a lifesaver! My laptop has no battery and uses a 3d party AC. 'Official' way to update bios is interrupted by the error "connect battery blah-blah-blah". I created a Free-Dos USB drive with Rufus, put the latest BIOS firmware in the root, restarted, added /forceit and voilà, my DELL 5420 features latest (and last) firmware A14!
I have a dell studio 1558 and I am trying to update the latest bios version A12. However, as can be seen in the video, the file downloaded from the dell website was of format "Windows/DOS". But, in my case the format of bios file is "ZipPack" which means that the required files needs to be extracted in order to run. This ZipPack file does not run from the FreeDos, and neither do the extracted bios files run. I get error saying " This program cannot be run in DOS mode". Any ideas from anybody?!?!?
Thanks man, i had to do this as a workaround to fix black screen of death on Dell N5050 and in my absence of experience with BIOS flashing with Rufus i tried to load BIOS like i was loading ISO for bootable Windows USB instead of copying to the USB drive after the FreeDOS flashing part. Anyway, if anybody else experiences black screen after the Windows logo loading screen, flashing BIOS to A05 version is the way to go.
I love you mate, I did it on my dell n5110 cause it has a06 and now a011 due with win10 the laptop screen wasn't turning on after the password screen, only hdmi worked with bios a06 and now with a011 or a11 I don't remember very well if it was with a 0 before or not. Anyway if somebody has that issue just update your bios! Thanks mate again! :)
it worked on dell inspiron n5050 thank you very much now i know how to do it for every laptop and desktop computer this is the best way for doing the upgrade .
The page support of this model (N4050) shows a release from 23 June 2020 (Version A08). But it isn't true. Somehow it's the same release from 2013 (also A08). 😞😑
Just want to thank you so much. My Dell D630 wouldn't start since I got it from a flea market for $5 and it took e 5 days to finally get it too start. Your magic helped now if I could only get a product key? Can you help with that also? Thanks again it was as easy as opening your eyes.
hello. I left this comment to see if this information is useful to someone, on some Dell laptops the bios installer uses the Winphlash64 program so the Force it commands do not work here, I found a forum where the winphlash16 version is used for MS-DOS and the Bios archive is located in the path C:\Users ame user\AppData\Local\Temp\WinPhlash64 and there you get the file Bios1.wph, Forum link: How to flash bios with unidentified battery and AC Adapter | DELL Technologies I followed the steps and managed to update from version A08 to A11 on a Dell xps 1647.
Great vid but I wish you would’ve emphasized renaming the update to something memorable lol I had to go back to change it cause it was too long, thanks though
When i boot with my usb flash put in dir and then write my bios in my case N110A11 and press enter it shows me "Satrt to flash....... [Y/N]:" and i cant do anything here can you help

Done successfully..u r great man..but i flashed same version only..as there was no update after 2012..now i hv to solve cmos prblm..these both cmos and bios fucked my precious tym nd money..repair person always said that its motherboard problem..u hv to buy new 9ne
@@heroeus8173 Did you try to disable the battery in Device Manager? That did the trick for me. It doesn't fix the battery of course. But it bypasses the check on the battery so the bios update can install.
HELP. Thank you, trying to fix one of the kids' laptops and I have been stuck in this loop of problems for ages and then stumbled upon one of your videos... You got me closer than ever, but I now have another issue. Battery is damaged or not recognized (not 10%) and even /forceit does not do it. Any ideas?
Can you please help me fix my dell latitude touchpad...it’s not showing the driver in device manager and the touchpad is not working even after downloading the recommended driver from dell
Thank you so much , that’s the only way we can do that thing, i tried cmd but useless Awesome video, your torturial good for me and easy to get it 😂🤣🥰🥰

Hi, great video. I have a HP laptop. Will this work the same way? Same parameter /forceit?
