What a thorough and candid review. My Dyson V6 Absolute has just gone on a strike and I was thinking about buying another one of the brand. Your explanation has changed my mind. Shark it is.
Good review couple of things the shark has lights on the cleaning head and the arm bends for better cleaning access like getting under sofas etc whereas the dyson does not .
Really great video, you covered many of the questions I had been wondering about and provided very clear and balanced answers. Ultimately, having just ordered the new Shark IZ300UK, I'm rather relieved as I thought it suited my needs better than the equivalent Dyson on paper and you just confirmed my choice. I'm away over here in Northern Ireland otherwise in future I'd be buying from your company but a big thumbs up in any case.
I picked up a Dyson Animal V7 for nothing , as an owner had chucked it out not figuring out it’s issue. Replaced the battery and filter from 3rd party, gutted it out and assembled and it’s superb. Then bought Shark IZ201UK and steam mop Klick bundle in the Black Friday sale yesterday £249 the lot. I’m in cleaning heaven!
Dude, huge respect for creating this vid 👍. I can't dedicate 30 minutes of my life to watch a film about vacuum cleaners though. Just tell me which one to buy. I trust you know what you are talking about.
Thanks for this video. I'd already bought the Shark (as I move into a new flat), and I now know, as a tenant renting a flat, and not wanting to put unnecessary holes in the walls of my landlord's property if I can help it, for wall units, I have made the right choice, on that reason alone!
Shark all the way for me! It's lucky because I've already bought it, but it is nice to have such a clear explanation of all the features, and to know I made the right decision for me. Thanks.
We have the Dyson V8 and the shark shown here, the shark is heavy so it might be a little difficult for older people but it is better than the Dyson. I think the parts are cheaper to replace than the Dyson.
Good advice on having another set of filters. Manufacturers ought take note and perhaps provide with purchase of main unit, it would definitely be a pro when deciding on which model to buy
Dude such a good explanation! Nice and throughout explained all the different settings and stuff. Keep these up💪🏼. If you don't mind a small suggestion would be to do tests on the same floor picking up rubbish. People usually love seeing theses like this. Like when there is something called the "smoke box" for air purifiers and even tho I ain't buying one but watching that part is satisfying if it makes sense? I think you can be the king of vacuum cleaners that pick up different dirt's and compare them
I purchased a shark vaccum cleaner and was trying to figure out the filters. This video was so helpful to understand the product. You have explained it really good. Thank you.
Really good video. I have just ordered a Dyson V10 Extra but spent quite a bit of time looking at Dyson and Shark cordless vacuum cleaners. Having watched your video I am sure I chose the right brand as the weight is important for us. Great advice & detail.
The Dyson V7 has a run time of 6 minutes on full power with or without the tools, low power- 20 mins with motorised heads 30 mins without, hope that helps
Superb Video, i was looking for exactly this comparison. I would love to buy it from you but sadly am not located in the UK. But my Mom says thank you. Keep on doing these videos 👍🏻
A very helpful review however you have missed out the most important factor and key point of the product which is the suction power capabilities for both.
The Shark seems the best, Dyson products have become more poor quality in the materials they use in the last 10 years. Purchased a corded dyson and had nothing but trouble despite my not using it that much!!
Great and informative video - thanks. I have the IZ201UK and generally very pleased at the £180 price point BUT: There is no flexible hose accessory apart from the car detailing kit and the precision duster both of which use small diameter hoses and have low suction. I cannot easily valet a car ie clean under and beside the seats effectively with the machine and available accessories. I see the V series DO have a full diameter flexible hose accessory to bridge between the motor unit and a standard crevice tool for example. I may need to hack one together by getting another crevice tool, cutting it at a round section and find a piece of corrugated pond hose or similar to join the two cut sections up. But why oh why do they not provide an accessory like that.
hi, a lovely video... well appreciated but.. the main thing i look for is suction .. what is best for sucking up carpet debris with a battery hand held vacuum cleaner? this is what most people need to know... i will subscribe.. also i think HENRY is the best pound for pound vacuum to be purchased...
Unfortunately that's a really difficult one to answer as the majority of cordless vacuums rely on a good drive head for the pickup ability rather than just relying on suction.
Thank you for all the videos on vacuum cleaners. They are so helpful. Can you recommend a good one for someone who has Carpal tunnel syndrome please? Cheers
Either of these should be ok for you, but i would highly recommend going into a store and trying the vacuums out before buying. This way it will give you a good idea if you can manage it ok.
@@lords-electrical I went for the V10 animal in the end and got the Dok for free from Curry's for £349 all in, hopefully I've made the right choice, only time will tell.
Shark have definitely stolen the march on Dyson. Look at how easy the Shark was to empty, whereas the Dyson was not a smooth simple action at all. LOL. I also like the sound of the Shark, it's not so high pitched as the Dyson which can sound quite annoying if someone is using the Dyson while others in the house are trying to work.
The dyson is lighter than the Shark. All the negative reviews are from women that find the Shark tooo heavy. For a man it’s not - or shouldn’t- be an issue to use.
What I don’t like about Dyson is that they no longer come with printed instructions. I do not have a smart phone and my computer literacy is minimal. So no more Dyson products for me.
I have the older model of the Dyson and I like it except that it is a pain if the battery goes flat just before you finish a job. It's worth noting that you cannot use it while it is plugged in so you have to wait. Another thing to bear in mind when choosing is do you want to support the arch-hypocrite James Dyson or not?
The Shark looks like really cheap low grade plastic. I've had Dyson for 15 years, the last two vacuums have been replaced free of charge. This is a huge selling point for me. Having said that, keep in mind that battery life will degrade over time. Your 30 mi Dyson run time could well be 20 mins in 2 years time.
Sharks are really tough, they can surprisingly take quite a beating. Dyson's wand is very strong but the little connecting parts come loose with over use.
Stop waffling, get to the points about the vacuums. Dyson run time, then compare to the shark. Main points make it easier for us to watch and make a decision on what’s best.
The wonders of modern web technology means you can scrub through a video easily. You can also use the gear icon to change the playback speed if you're in a rush.
These guys are very informative. I know that everyone that sees this really appreciates their time
What a thorough and candid review. My Dyson V6 Absolute has just gone on a strike and I was thinking about buying another one of the brand. Your explanation has changed my mind. Shark it is.
Was shark worth it or you wish to go back to Dyson? My worry is that shark is too heavy for my mum
Dyson are GARBAGE
Good review couple of things the shark has lights on the cleaning head and the arm bends for better cleaning access like getting under sofas etc whereas the dyson does not .

The same here from Romania. :) I don't like long videos :)

Yes great suggestion, i have done this in some of the videos and i should do this more. Thanks for the great feedback.
I purchased a shark vaccum cleaner and was trying to figure out the filters. This video was so helpful to understand the product. You have explained it really good. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review, answered all my questions. I'm going for the shark.
Thank you for this in-depth comparison! The brands are very similar so I had trouble deciding. This really helped!
My shark over 1 year on still happy with mine purchased some extra tools

Thank you, it was great to know the differences, much appreciated
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was so helpful! Appreciate the information and the detail
Very nicely explained. Did help to understand functions and differences. Dyson for me for sure. Thank you.
Very welcome!
20:01 .. "If you have got hairy family members"
Yep, my cave living grandpa does shed a few when he visits during the summer :)
I have the shark and always remove the bin to empty so can bang the filters to clean as well
Thank you for such an informative video. I ordered the Shark because I have long hair that killed my last cordless vacuum, hopefully it will be good!
I am sure you will get on fine with the vacuum, thanks for the feedback
Shark more run time , but heavier … and they are equal in suction , shark has ant hair tech …..mmm I think I’d go for 🦈
Loved your video! I usually dont comment, but u have done a phenomenal job with the presentation and detailed research. Well done!
Thanks very much for the feedback, i do appreciate it.

That's great to hear its useful for you. Which one would you buy out of interest?
Love me some Vaccum head to head wars!!
Thanks! Great video and really focuses on what matters.

Yeah they are AWFUL
Very informative video, ultimately went with the shark in the end due to the pet hair function 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great review, thanks for sharing.
As dyson user Id say go for shark. I cant imagine if something can be worse than dyson at 300 pounds price.
Thanks for this vid. Very helpful
No problem!
Love this channel! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glad you enjoy it!
If you don’t want to empty bins get a bagged vacuum like a Sebo or Henry
Great and informative video - thanks.

What is the difference between this shark vs IZ300UK and also between v7 and v8?
Very good review
Antihair wrap on shark does not work with our 2 dogs always getting hairs from brush underneath
Watched to the end and was convinced the Shark was the way to go, only to find it's increase in price by £100, so back to drawing board.
Shark have a high / low pricing, so if it has gone up in price then keep an eye out as there is a chance it will come back down soon.
@@lords-electrical I went for the V10 animal in the end and got the Dok for free from Curry's for £349 all in, hopefully I've made the right choice, only time will tell.
Great vid..plus your cute 😍 😜

23:35 - You're welcome.
I had a shark was OK but the suction is far better in the dyson
Thanks 👍🏼

Move with the times and try and to boost your computer literacy.

This is cool
Can we buy products from you?
Yes the main website is www.go-cordless.co.uk we sell from
Dyson all the way
Shark vaccum has a capacity of 0.4L not 0.7L. Great video btw 👍🏿
We vacuum in one go
Iv got the shark and I'l be returning it. Foot is too big and heavy, whereas dyson foot is easier to use on stairs and all around the house.
use the stair tool, the motorised small pet brush works wonders

I switched to Shark as soon as I knew that Dyson was supporting the Brexit fiasco
The Dyson sucks. Mine broke less than a year with only being used in the kitchen & dining room a few times a week.
Sorry to hear that, if its still under the manufacturers warranty, i would give Dyson a ring and get them to sort it out for you.
Dyson vacuum cleaners are total pieces of garbage and that’s being unbelievably kind. I’m on my third one.
If they are that bad why keep buying them?? 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Stop waffling, get to the points about the vacuums. Dyson run time, then compare to the shark. Main points make it easier for us to watch and make a decision on what’s best.
I personally didn't feel like there was much waffle in the video. But maybe an infographic for ppl that dont want to see everything would help
If you want an infographic, or even just a short snappy video, why would click on a 25+ minute video? This is just whining for whinings sake.
Nobody made you watch it - why be so rude when he is doing you a favour, making this video to help you?
The wonders of modern web technology means you can scrub through a video easily. You can also use the gear icon to change the playback speed if you're in a rush.
@@Jisei13 Due, it was 26 mins long, way to long, so while I agree with her, her tone is unacceptable.
Fucking hoover the floor!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Thanks for the honest feedback
You talk too much
it's a comparison video, would you prefer to hear or read the differences?
