When it comes to the Lemon pasta situation, I understand the mindset of wanting to go all out, but I think splitting it might have been a good option because it will curb your craving and then it won’t poorly affect your body as much as eating the whole thing with an appetizer and going all out. Part of the balance of dieting isn’t “going all out” and then being so strict on yourself that you’re miserable. It’s about eating what you want when you crave it, but in smaller portions. That can be the compromise you’re looking for. So maybe just switching your mindset to “oh I can have a few chips and it will be ok, I just don’t want to eat the whole bag because then it will have negative effects on my body” if that makes sense. I hope this is helpful advice!

I feel like Jaclyn’s idea of a “sustainable lifestyle” she was talking about with Jordan not supporting her isn’t realistic. You can’t obtain sustainable weight loss or healthy habits by restricting yourself to the amount she is and then having ultimate feast style cheat meals on weekends or every 10 days or so. Eating foods you enjoy, while balancing your nutrition and eating sizable portions is sustainable. Actually, what Jordan suggested by splitting a meal of pasta is a great one. Split an appetizer and an entree. You will get the enjoyment you are looking for out of your food, but you won’t overeat and feel awful for hours or feel extremely guilty the next day. It’s all about healthy boundaries and a healthy mindset and a healthy relationship with food.

    • @sweetn0thing681
      @sweetn0thing681 2 роки тому +85

Right? when she says "if I go, im just gonna eat the whole bowl and appetizers, why would I split" its like THAT'S the issue. The "all or nothing" mentality never works because we lose willpower eventually and end up bingeing the same amount of calories we've restricted the whole week and THEN some and end up stuck in a horrible binge/restrict cycle. I wish she would understand why all the comments are saying all or nothing never works, but I know it's a lesson you just have to yourself the hard way :/

Jordan saying “let’s split the lemon pasta..” is his way of being supportive. He wants you to enjoy but stay within your boundaries so you can achieve your goal. Restaurant portions are way over sized as it is. No one needs to eat the whole thing. Fit or not. Cut your portions down and don’t over restrict yourself. That way you don’t feel so tempted to cheat. For anyone else who struggles with working out, my best advice is to find an activity that you ENJOY doing. If running on a treadmill is not for you then go outside for a walk or run, hike, play a sport, swim…find something that you LOOK FORWARD to doing every day. Even if it’s something small, like a 10 min walk around your neighbourhood. As you get healthier and fitter you will find that you want to do more. It’s the only way you will be able to stick to a workout routine and consistency is key when it comes to losing weight. Furthermore, think of it as something you will be doing for the rest of your life because to maintain weight loss and be healthy, you need an overall lifestyle change.

This really seems like a developing restrictive/binging dynamic with food. The foods you think are bad are okay to eat in moderation. Super restricting what you eat leads to bigger binges when you finally give in to cravings, which everyone does! Let yourself have the things you want in small amounts with a balanced diet. This avoids unhealthy relationships with food while developing food habits that are sustainable.

Normally I would agree with you but you have to remember that from the very beginning she was very clear that she is eating restrictively for a temporary time in order to heal inflammation in her body. When allowing your body to heal itself it’s important to cut out anything inflammatory for a prolonged period of time in order for healing to take place. She isn’t just doing this to lose weight. So although it may seem restrictive if you go to a naturopath dr and try to heal something they can go as strict as allowing only steamed cabbage for instance for several weeks to heal a leaky gut for example. It’s a different approach than just normal weight loss with the intent of taking the stress off of your body so it can allow itself to heal. It seems this is what Jacklyn is trying to achieve. She keeps mentioning trying to heal inflammation in her body. I commend her for being so honest about it despite many who may not understand the benefits of such a restrictive diet for healing purposes in the body. When you look at people who heal cancer naturally their diets are extremely strict. Again I’m not discounting people’s concerns. Normally I’d be very concerned, too. But she was specific in mentioning her reason for being so strict was for healing purposes in her body.

You can enjoy your life without eating an entire bowl of pasta and insisting on an appetizer merely because you're eating out. Jordan has watched you cry and spiral and be upset about gaining weight and making bad decisions and he's just trying to help you avoid feeling bad, while allowing you to enjoy the things you want.
You can't whine about wanting a bowl of pasta and how much you want it but can't have it, and when he offers a reasonable option to have your cake and eat it too, get mad that he isn't going to completely enable you. But please know you’re helping motivate so many of us in the background ! 💕

Without sounding mean, I know for me, you have to look at food without worshiping it. Its gluttony. Its what makes you heavy, in pain, nauseous, and beaten. We can enjoy food and say thats great, but when we idolize it and commercial it, and allow drama to it, its gluttony, and an idol. That is not a healthy perspective. So each time you select a food to eat, just give its rate as great, good, ok, and nope. Don’t obsess its taste, you only build your brain into believing you need it more then you do, and then feel deprived because you dramatized it so much. Look at how those clothes fit and the way you feel as the comfort, not food. When you get down go put those comfy clothes on and say this is great. And this is worth it

Trust yourself, and keep your promises to yourself: if you say you’re gonna work out, do it. If you say you aren’t gonna eat that, don’t. Good luck jaclyn!

I sort of disagree with this. By nature humans don't do well with moderation. Why do you think there are so many overweight people? Too much crap food and saying, oh I can have this or that, in moderation. Ya probably can't because what can happen- one slice of pizza turns into 4. You continually make excuses to have the food you want with the caveat that you can have all things in moderation.

I think that the key to making this a lifestyle is allowing yourself things in moderation! I know it’s hard when you have the mentality all or nothing or it’s not worth it, but I have learned this myself and by talking to a nutritionist and therapist about this after my ED that having things in moderation is key. Sustainable weight loss is truly about the lifestyle change and I know you’re doing really damn good so far! But truly letting yourself have some teaches you better control and is realistic!

Oh girl I can sympathize with the extreme cramps. I have suffered from extreme cramping since I was 16. So much so that I was bedridden for 6-7 days and was eventually hospitalized due to passing out and my body going into shock from the extreme pain. December 31st I was hospitalized for 2 days due to hemorrhaging that was caused by a fibroid in my uterus that I had no idea about. Due to the steroids and hormones I was given to help shrink it, I gained weight. I had surgery to remove the fibroid and to save my life. 2020 was one of the hardest and scariest years of my life.I decided to take care of myself and try to live healthier and happier. But also for myself. Starting my journey was hard, sticking it out was even harder and I am happy that I was able to achieve my goals in spite of myself. After all, we are our harshest critics.
I completely sympathize with you and empathize. I wish you blessings, Jaclyn. You’re doing amazing things and I think people are just insecure about themselves and see you doing amazing things and are turning their pain (whatever that may be) into anger and lashing out. I used to be a sweets every night girl until I fell into my beloved frozen grapes - plus, the resveratrol in grapes can help improve metabolism. Low cals, low carbs and delicious! I need to do that myself. I haven't checked inches since I started my weight loss.

100%. I lost weight, then gained muscle and my body 2 years ago is much different (improved) than it was even though I'm technically the same exact weight on the scale. My body, clothes and fitness level is way better, but if I only went off what the scale said I'd think nothing improved. I look much less heavy, even though the scale says otherwise.

My husband and I had to figure out what phrases we want the other person to say to the other in order to help and not piss off the person we are trying to help. For my husband, he blacks out and doesn’t realized when he is eating so I say to him “are you aware of what you are eating? Are you choosing to eat this or did you not know?”. Also, changing your mindset on quality vs quantity when it come to food and the portions really helps and being able to see that sharing a meal isn’t a punishment to anyone. Keep up the progress!!! Rooting for you!!!

You have to read nutrition labels...you can’t just assume something is healthy or low calorie because of the name. It’s freaking hard though. You’re doing great!

    JACLYN!!
I hope you see this message!!! Giiiiiiiiirlllllllll...!!!!
The period cramps situation was me a year ago. I called out of work multiple times and I swear to you the thing that's been saving me is taking magnesium and potassium supplements (together at the same time) at the very beginning of my cycle and each morning until the first few (usually most painful) days are over. My periods are bearable now and I am soooo grateful to have found this solution. Doctors will say that being more active can reduce cramps as well but try this combo on your next cycle and see if it helps! 😊💜💜

Jac, your journey is for you, this is your journey not Jordan’s. It’s unfair To put that kind of pressure on your partner, you’re the one that needs to put in the work for you you are the one that needs to stay motivated for you if you want this bad enough

Honestly Jaclyn portion control actually helps me personally immensely! When I am like super craving something and I really cannot get over it, I will just have a portion of it - whether it's carbs or chips or anything sweet. I just grab a smaller bowl than I usually would (this is in the case of carbs or chips for example). When it comes to candy or cookies, I'd either have about 3/4/5 pieces of candy or 1 cookie - half a cookie depending on the size of it. I believe you really need to discover your own balance: you have to find a way to deal with the cravings that works for YOU. You don't have to give in to them every single day, just when it gets bad - gotta stay honest with yourself.
Last but not least, i've been loving your series and you've actually motivated me to start going for a healthier lifestyle again. Just keep doing you, allow yourself to try new tactics and grow along the way! There is no one way to a healthy lifestyle - I am excited to see you grow and discover your way that works!⚘

I love watching your journey! You're honest and real and you don't censor all the messy parts of trying to lose weight/get healthy. You mess up, and that's okay, because you're honest about it and acknowledge your mistakes and talk about how you can do better. This whole series is really refreshing and I'm happy you're being vulnerable enough to let us share the journey with you :)

I love this series , I feel like the universe is working through you for other people , it’s what some people have needed and it’s refreshing to know that someone with a huge following in the beauty community can also help impact others with health and wellness by being so raw about their lifestyle. 🌹soo excited for what’s to come🤗
