You guys are just great I would like to commend Displate and the support team. You guys have been nothing but helpful and the communication with you is exemplary every time. Displate brings me joy every day as my wide collection of 17 Displates from my favorite games creates a beautiful symphony on my walls. (P.S. Please show us how the machine prints please!) ((P.P.S. More discounts please 🥺))
As an Artist, Published photographer, and someone with allot of printing experience. I think it’s disgusting that Displate is charging over $100US for a medium size (not even 20x30) unframed metal print and only giving the actual artist a $9US commission. Now I understand Displate is doing the printing and shipping of the products which creates a certain amount of overhead. The actual metal print costs about $15 to make. Metal sheets and transfer paper can be purchased in bulk. I also understand that with a shop the artist is using the platform to sell their art. But still, this company is making a big profit, well the actual artist is not even receiving 10% for their art that they created. Without the Artists this company would have no business. I’m so tired of seeing companies like this take advantage of newer and younger artists who are just desperate to sell their work and make money. Artists would be better off using a print house or investing in their own printer. Learning how to promote themselves, selling their work on their own website, plus sites like etsy and using social media to promote it.
You do realize they have to pay for supplies, employees, to keep the machines in working order, and still make a profit..right? It is the artists choice to give them a design or not. Also, lets say 1k of a large poster is purchased. The artist then makes $10,000. (You said the medium costs $100 when it only costs $40, so I'm assuming you meant to say large).
where did you get 100 dollars from? I pay 42 dollars for a medium matte, or 52 dollars for a medium gloss poster. I am assuming that you live in the US and that you also have import fees and shipping fees, now you know how it feels to buy something from the US while living in the EU lol (Displate only ships from Poland). Those fees have nothing to do with them. I'm not sure what the commission is, but if it is 9 dollars like you said, then the commission is not that low considering the fact that they are actually priced at 42 dollars before any fees are applied. I am however assuming that the commission is lower since 9 dollars seems pretty high. You should also always wait for a sale, they have sales anywhere between 20% to 40% off all the time.
So I have problems. I live in a small trailer home with wood paneling for walls and it shimmy's a bit when I do laundry. Will your magnets hold to my walls and will they handle a little shimmy?
In general, we don’t recommend mounting a Displate on rough or uneven surfaces. In this situation, if you're able to drill into the surface, you can punch a hole in the magnet and mount it to the wall using a nail.
I just got my Displate order and the Displate itself is great, i also orderd the stand so i dont have to stick it to the wall, the only issue is that a part of the Displate was missing, so i took photos of my order and sent an email to Displate Support ansd for some reason the email got bounced back, so i dont know what to do now.
Neat idea but just that, if you do not appreciate art and just want a neat gimmick to decorate a wall, please buy a lot! Basically, the gimmick is light reflecting off of a scabrous, rough metal surface - which BTW casts shadows contrasted by a high glare on the print itself, changing the artwork's original look & intention... the artist's reason or purpose of the work. IT DOES NOT enhance it and is confusing why the artists agreed to this type of production. The supposition is these are mass marketed advertising art and probably meant as a throwaway, ephemeral artwork, to make $$$ not to inspire or evoke emotion. It would be better, easier, & cheaper to buy a high-gloss print from anywhere else. for anyone that wants to admire the art, not have the art overwhelmed by a gimmicky scraggy metal canvas.
If you live outside the EU it will be more expensive since they only ship from Poland, but for us who live inside of the EU it's pretty cheap, it's not more expensive than buying a normal painting. I'm just happy that I finally don't have to pay for any additional import taxes, and the shipping fee is alright.
Greetings, I sell do print on demand. I just heard about your platform recently and really like your poster products. One of my primary projects is photo mounting of my photos I have accumulated over decades. If I use your services for mounting does Displate deal with fulfillment by sending the end product directly to my customer? Please reply asap. Thanks.
or you can to any junk shop and find metal plates with adverts from the 20s and 30s that look cute and funny, "9 out of 10 Doctors recommend Marlboro Red" etc.
If you're thinking about joining Displate as an artist, don't. They sell their Displates for $44-$88+ and as an artist you'll only make $2-$4 per Displate sold. What they want you to do is to buy their Displates for 50% and then sell them off for 100% on your own platform. They offer you a "generous" $10 if you link the plate and it gets sold from that link the same day but chances are most people will not be doing so. If you're making original art you are basically being paid less than 10% of your profits for a borderline black company.
My poster came with a dent in the top left corner and to make matters worse there's no order history on my account. Now way to even file a claim or talk to someone to find out what the next move is. Disappointed to say the least that a 100 dollar poster came with a dent.
I had to pay 30$ for import fees in addition of the 25$ shipping and “handling” cost for just one medium sized displate, which means I paid 55$ just for shipping, while the displate itself was 50$. I like the idea, but it’s way overpriced for a Chinese product that has a not so great quality.
A little late, but he is the guy from their website. I believe every Displate has a showcase video on how Displates generally look, and he is the guy in that showcase video.
I’m here purely to hate, the ads are infuriating, on my phone, my TV, every app has a displayed ad. I don’t want a poster of crappy art. I hit hide as whenever I can and it keeps coming back. Trash product
Hey displate, ease up on the adds, you know that this kind of add spam is associated with bad publicity and you are losing face value? Yeah, i bet you dont care. Just please, less adds, god damn its like a marathon out here, seeing your adds literally every single video i watch.
