You did more dismantling than may be needed. In order to remove the front of the machine you do not need to remove the control panel. Take out the screws holding the door lock and the Torx 30 below the door. Remove the seal spring as shown and the two screws at the bottom of the front The front will them drop down and clear the pins holding it at the top.

Fixed mine today. Just as described, pipes were well clogged.
