- Here is the premiere episode of my new travel vlog covering my journey to Asia!
I departed Winnipeg in the evening to Pearson Airport in Toronto to catch a late flight to Hong Kong. From there, my final destination for the first leg of the trip would have been Bangkok, Thailand. Unfortunately, things did not go so well and I ended up getting stuck in Toronto. Watch the video to see how I managed to survive a 30-hour long layover at Pearson Airport!

Great first episode! We spent a 13 hour layover in the Houston airport, and it was hell. Can't imagine a 30 hour layover. The seats in the airport in Houston had arms on them, so you couldn't even lay down across them. At least you could stretch out in Toronto haha. Looking forward to the next episode :)
Thanks! Yes it was tough, but at least I got some vlog material from the experience haha. If it ever happens again, then I'd highly recommend earplugs and a sleeping mask... 😴

Some of the worst moments in travel become the funniest stories to tell. After some time has passed, of course! I think that's what the conveyer belt is about, the way you think about this lonely airport lock in will change as you move along.

30 hours is very long, the longest layover I had was in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia about 14 hours
Yeah it was brutal. I could do that in my twenties without too much trauma but the layovers don't age like fine wine that's for sure lol 😆

The conveyor belt of life… hmm… sometimes it doesn’t move at all, and you have to make more effort. Sometimes people get in your way and block your progress. Sometimes it whizzes along too quickly, and you lose your balance. And sometimes you need to go backwards because you forgot something, but that is difficult. So, don’t be in a hurry to get to the end, or you might just end up with a long stopover. Maybe just enjoy the walk? 😂
Hey Jayman... yeah the worst part is at the end when people stop walking while looking into their black mirror. Maybe it's more about the journey than the destination?

They're still semi-mandatory in airports. Don't worry... it becomes a sleeping mask in episode 2 coming up haha!
