    I stay overnight inside airports like at least 2-4 times a month. Once you are inside security, it gets easier as there will always be employees and security to watch out. If you want a comfortable sleep, then find a bench to lie down on. Just make sure to set an alarm at least an hour before your flight and preferably stay near your gate.

      are there usually sofas you can sleep on? or are they all taken? I'm going to be sleeping overnight at the SFO airport and need to know if I should buy a sleeping pad to prepare for sleep on the floor or not

    I always take a bicycle (cable) lock with me to attach my backpack to e.g. the armrest of the chairs. Like this, thiefs can not quickly grab my stuff away.

    Found a perfect three seater with enough cushion and no arm rests at Fort Lauderdale airport. Snuggled up on it right now for the night

    Thank you for this video. I also have an overnight layover at Newark airport in a few weeks and I’m dreading it. It’s not worth paying $200 for just a few hours of sleep at a nearby hotel especially considering I am a budget traveller and got a cheap deal on my flight.
    I am flying in from Canada and I read online that at this particular airport they kick you out after a certain hour (since they close down) to the pre security area and then you have to re check in. Apparently many homeless people in the pre security area or anyone off the street can be there so I am not sure if feel safe. Was that the case with you? Also, how cold is this airport and how noisy is it at night? Thanks again, just the video I was looking for 😊👌

      Hi. Thanks for the message. I'm glad it was a useful video. I had a connecting flight so I was already past security. The spot I found was next to gate C94.
      Where I slept it wasn't very noisy and not too cold, but I was grateful for my sheet to wrap up in. I didn't know about them closing the airport since it didn't affect me. There's probably more information about that on sleepinginairports.net. Good luck and have a safe trip!

      @@BringtheHorizonjust wondering when did you have an overnight layover at Newark, and did they just let you stay inside security overnight?
      In my case, I once had a 5 am flight at Newark from terminal A back in December. This was around a month before they opened the new terminal A. I arrived the night before, and at around 11 pm or something, we all got thrown out to the area outside security.

    What if someone robs you while you sleep? Is that common? Just asking because I don't know if I want to take that risk 😂 wow amazing mattres you have!

    • @BringtheHorizon
      @BringtheHorizon  4 місяці тому

      This is a risk but thankfully a situation I have never encountered. If this is a concern for you, you could try the advice of @LucasPetersson by bringing a flexible bike lock with you. That way you can lock your bag to something while you sleep and make it difficult to steal.

    • @travelvideos
      @travelvideos 2 місяці тому

      airports are empty during the night. So risk of robbery is low. You can sleep in crescent position (like cats sleep) and hug your bag then it will be more safe.

    They have filtered water in the airports. I would never put my water bottle under that sink. People brush their teeth, spit, and do other things

    • @BringtheHorizon
      @BringtheHorizon  7 місяців тому +2

      Actually, not all airports have free water fountains. So, it's worth carrying a filter bottle unless you're happy to pay the high price for bottled water in an airport shop.

    It's a rather azzhole thing of airports to intentionally block sleepers, especially as most of them also recieves state/country founding to operate.

    • @BringtheHorizon
      @BringtheHorizon  7 місяців тому +1

      I agree. It would be much nicer of them to get rid of the annoying little arm rests.

    • @itscodyw
      @itscodyw Місяць тому +1

      I completely agree! I was overnight at Philadelphia airport a few weeks ago and you can’t lay down anywhere unless it’s in the floor. My flight got canceled due to weather and because it was weather related they won’t put you in a hotel and it’s not worth a few hundred dollars to sleep for a few hours so I just toughed it out. They should have some small couches or even some padded benches people can sleep on as it’s not uncommon for people to get stuck!
