The music of my youth, I still see myself with 22 years in those great 90's, and this band accompanied me in those days, thanks Kula Shaker, Crispian Mills a genius
I remember this song performed on tv as if it was yesterday. I jumped up in a feeling of utter relief after hearing the first tones and uttering a sort of personal prayer: " Geez, it appears that I did not withstand the terror of that house 'music' crap for nothing, my prayers have been answered, this is the music I have been waiting for ever since I discovered 1960's psychedelia when I was in my teens in the 1980s!".
Wow, there is hope these days with a band like this, i've liked them since i first heard them, cannot remember the exact date, very retro 60's and yet with some new, fresh, modern harmonies and melody, very tasty, won't become tired of this conglomerate of pleasant sounding musicians and singers, keep on keeping on! Terri Leckner, Montreal,Canada
Britpop was COMPLETED by Kula Shaker. Everything was brilliant in the 90s, I Should Coco, for example, but we HAD to have an exotic band in the Within You Without You spirit.
Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva [Verse 1] Like the flower and the scent of summer Like the sun and the shine Well the truth may come in strange disguises Send a message to your mind Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva [Verse 2] At the moment that you wake from sleeping And you know it's all a dream Well the truth may come in strange disguises Never knowing what it means [Chorus] Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva Tattva, achintya bheda abheda tattva [Verse 3] For you shall be tomorrow Like you have been today If this was never ending What more can you say?
Saw Kula Shaker at a fanclub gig in Birmingham around 1998 / 1999. Seen a lot of bands before and since but struggle to think of a band as tight and together as the performance I witnessed then. Stays with me.
I saw these live years ago when they were supporting at a Mother Earth gig and this song still rings in my head as memorable as the first day I heard it played live.
George Harrison had a huge influence on Kula Shaker. His later Beatles work and his solo albums. His film soundtrack Wonderwall Music sounds a lot like what Kula Shaker would sound like 20 years later. No George Harrison no Kula Shaker. I like Kula Shaker. I bought the K cd when it first came out, then Peasants, Pigs and Astronauts. The Great Hosannah and Shower Your Love are personal favourite's.
I am 34 years old lover of Hard Rock 80s, Metal and Rock in general, and I had no idea at all about this band. I just listened this song a few days ago in a bar, and oh surprise! I loved it at once. Enter a new style in my music library.
Same for me! I come from a Metal background, but first time I heard them i really liked their music and I really love their entire discography. Pure quality
I bought this in Manchester airport on the way to Ibiza. That's when I learned never go to Ibiza - only ever go to Greece - Andros in particular - In the words of Elvis -(I wished..) I never (nearly not) been to Spain but I sure like the music, you know the ladies are insane but they sure know how to use it.... They don't abuse it...Ain't enter gonna lose it, what does it matter??
The 2nd Brit Invasion was awesome. Such good music now lost to history. I love this tune. My parents said the 60s were trying to return in the early 90s.
This would have been like the 3rd BI, actually. The 2nd one was the 80's with bands like Duran Duran. I look at as the first reincarnation of the Madchester bands.
Metropolis Festival 1996 Rotterdam, Holland. A band starts playing in front of a wild crowd of just about ten people, five of them holding a banner with "Kula Shaker" written on it. I've never heard of them, but i attend the whole gig. The band holds nothing back, and a visit to the nearest "coffeeshop" has clearly inspired them. I'm looking at Kula Shaker in concert, i'm totally oblivious, but i like what i hear.
Personally i loved brit pop. Haven't found anything much since worth listening to..not because i'm an old fuck..just i like good lyrics and guitars..this isn't the best example but we seem to evolving..boringly.....
A real 90's CLASSIC,this is an amazing song. Only 11 more sleeps and I'll be seeing these guys in Liverpool....wow....it's gonna be good. "Winters Call " is very much on my wish-list for the gig,if you haven't heard it you must give it a spin. I heard it by accident really and haven't stopped playing it since. Absolutely brilliant,I hope/think you might agree ! ?
Well, I am no expert in this ancient language. My mother tongue is one of the many languages that descended from Sanskrit. by the way you can get more info on it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattva_(song)
Underrated and good album, critics were wrong.
"critics were wrong" AS USUAL !!!!
The 1990s we're a great time to be alive!
This song is like Blur on accid trip to India

Good memories for me too, being young, still having your dreams intact lol But good music at least

There is a lot more to this song than just a psychedelic rock vibe. Dr Ssexy seriously?
