This is a message directly to anyone in the band. When you were filming the video to this song in London you spoke to a bunch of schoolchildren who was on a glass bridge outside of the London dungeon whilst you was on the top deck of the bus you were filming on. We were bunking school that day and shouted out to you asking who you were, and Crispin shouted out that you were ‘Megadeath’ whilst flashing the rock and roll Baphomet sign with his hand. Since we were children (about 14 years old) we replied with a bit of abuse but it was only banter because you was all wearing make-up for the video and we thought it was funny. A little while later I saw the video and actually loved this song and was glad that I was there to see it filmed, if only for a couple minutes. I just thought I would mention it in case anyone from the band actually looks at the comments because it’s probably quite a memorable occasion and you might remember it which would be funny. We all thought you was a proper cool band later on and still do. All the best for the future to you all👍💯🔥😈💙😁

I lived through it and it was awesome, that's because being a teen is awesome. The 90's were nothing on the 60's. We had a few bands in the 90's who were amazing but without the 60's they would not have been that whole scene, which was often a homage to the 60's/

These guys sat nicely between The Stone Roses and Oasis when listening to my tunes in the late 90s. They was an upswing of psychedelic groove laden bands amongst the britpop onslaught. Kula Shaker stood a bit taller with they raw talent and India influences. Crispin Mills was coming from a totally unique perspective. I still have them on my playlist, along with my beloved Stone Roses and Ride, Ocean Colour Scene, Oasis, blur, The Verve, The Charlatans, The Dylans, Soup Dragons, Suede, Pulp, The 5:30, Top, Primal Scream, The La’s, Cast, The Boo Radleys, The Farm, Inspiral Carpets and so many others....

Crispian Mills was definitely influenced by 60's music. His mother, Hayley Mills, was friends with George Harrison and the Beatles. Crispian's spirituality would seem to be influenced by Harrison. He also plays such 60's tunes as Hush and Cream's I Feel Free. I was talking to a teenager about Kula Shaker in '96 or so and he said his parents listened to them and he thought they were a 60's band.

Remember hearing this at Knebworth when they supporting Oasis on the sunday in August 96, they were the first band out of about 5 other supporting bands before Oasis that day. Kulashaker came out at approx. 3/4pm and started with this (which was to be released a few weeks later) after we had all been let in at about lunch time (long wait in a huge sloping field area in baking August sun). As they were about to release it I had never heard it before till that day they supported, next morning after at Kings Cross from leaving Stevenage couldn't get it out of my head, great song to start that day off with, great days, ha.

Not for you and I, there won't. But there will always be high water marks for every generation, who'll think they've seen the best that music can offer. That's the great thing about music, it really is the soundtrack to our lives.

All I have is all I need enough for love but not for greed yeah.
I was younger once this guy came to me told me about all the honey out there.
He said "Honey gold jewels money women wine cars that shine."
I don't know what he was talking about but I think I had an idea.
He said "Smell the rose, sweet sweet rose, catch the sun find where it grows.
Smell the rose, the sweet sweet rose that grows on castle walls in heaven. In heaven yeah."
Well if it feels like summer you're catching the sun, and I'm catching the moment you fall,
If it tastes like honey don't swallow it all, don't wait for the moment to come- and catch the sun.
Hey dude don't lean on me man, Cause I'm losing my direction and I can't understand, no no
Hey dude well I do what I can But you treat me like a woman when I feel like a man.
I was crossing the city one day, everybody was flashing by me Like images of tombstones, images of tombstones, On a Friday night I've seen everybody looking for their little bit of honey
To alleviate the pain, to alleviate the pain.
Well if it feels like summer don't burn in the sun, don't wait for the evening to fall, If it tastes like honey don't swallow it all, don't wait for the moment to come- and catch the sun.
No, no, n no, n no, no, etc.
When I feel like a man!

Mid 90's were top as f**k for British music. So many bands and great music!! What have the kids of nowadays got??!! No great musical movement at all. I had acid house, baggie/madchester and brit pop!! I pity the youth of today, I really do!

Been scrolling endlessly for songs of my youth. Got my drivers license back in 96 and 90"s Indies and alternative were a huge part of all those memories. I keep finding stuff I've forgotten about almost everyday and it's a good feeling to reminisce. I remember having to wait for a song to come on the radio so we could record it on a tape!

And it's also true. I keep looking at people with all their gadgets today just to remember what it was like in the 1990's. It's weird how things change, and the 1970's and 90's are the best for me in terms of music, even though I was born by the end of the 70's, :)

    • @dariowestern
      @dariowestern 3 роки тому

There was a 70's revival in the 90's. The whole Madchester thing was a left over from the prog rock time, then you had the likes of Suede and Pulp who were influenced by Glam Rock, then you had the likes of Green Day, NOFX, The Offspring and Blink 182 who made punk cool to like again with top 40 audiences.
