Problem is now I know my truck only gets 12mpg haha. It is a nice console. The light up cup holders and light in the console when you open it are my favorite things about it.
Already installed led lights in the console and the back feet light area. They were just 194's. I also replaced the button bulbs in the DIC with led's. I need to tinker around with putting in LED's in the cup holders. It will get done just not sure when.
I watched your video on 1.5x speed, now I have tons of time for other things. I think you should use the speakers in the console for your C.B. speakers
You are still in training. You will soon be watching videos in 2.5x speed and living the good life. Automotive speakers are 4ohm and CB's require 8ohm so I would have to use a small amp to make it work.
Its not only a more comfortable arm rest but the console its self is so much nicer and set up way better. I have done this upgrade to both my Yukon and Tahoe now.
Glad it was helpful! Took a bit to find the wiring diagram so I could wire it and figured I should make sure to share that info so others can do it as well.
For sure. I didnt think it was going to be all that different from the old console other than the driver info center but now that its installed there are so many things I like more about this console vs the old one.
@PostalRedneck it was all the details that I loved, how you wired it all, and made it special but easy enough to redneck the harnesses and color coded parts on the screen. Great job as always!
This will fit 2000-20006 but you need the whole center console and the glove box. Im not sure on the wiring in the DIC though as the 2000-2002 are different from the 2002-2006.
Buggy show unlikely but might go, Opening day depends on the weather and Bolt is doing great and is a joy to have around. All I can say is im ready for warmer weather and summer time fun. Hope all is well with you.
You could find the illumination wire going to the radio or just find a key on power source near by to tap into. I dont know a whole lot about the 03-07 GMT800's. All 3 of my GMT800's are 00-02.
Can you go a little more in depth about the cigarettes lighter and light wiring! Trying to tackle that tomorrow I swapped this exact console in my truck and cannot take not having cigarette lighters anymore.
Wire it up what ever way works for you. Some of these have more than 3 lighter sockets from the factory. My other truck I installed the same console and ran a wire to the driver kicker 194 bulb so the rear light would work with the interior lights.
Its a love and hate thing haha. Looking down and seeing 12mpg around town is a hard thing to see haha. Im pretty sure its accurate. I get about 15.8 on the high way and 12.4 around town.
I bought this Tahoe for the interior and swapped it all over to my Yukon. I only have around $200 into it as it sits and I just like to mess around with it. Its mostly a gambler 500, winter beater and off road truck and with the frame broken its not worth putting seat covers in. I do know the Seat Shop has good stuff though if I ever did want to do it.
Hey got a 2002 1500hd it’s the crew cab 6.0 i just swapped a console into this and wondering how i could wire the dic in i have a aftermarket radio would i be the same thing with colors? my radio is all wired in with the old colors they all match just seeing if that sounds like it would work?
2000-2002 dash parts fit in there year range and 2003-2006 parts fit in there year range. Some of the parts will however be the same like the dash pad, vents, and air bag but thats about it. The cluster, cluster bezel, radio, heater controls and glove box are all different.
Thinking outside the box I like that. I would have to buy a cheap amp as most automotive speakers are 4ohm and CB's use 8ohm but I could make that work. Thanks for the idea.
What wires are the rear left and right speakers positive and negative coming off the stock deck. I've got a 02 Sierra denali quadrasteer with tape deck and six disc changer. I'm adding a sub and amp while keeping stock deck I'm using a rca adapter but don't know what color wires are rear left and right speakers positive and negative coming off stock harness Please help
I'm trying to do this in reverse sort of. Lol. I have an 04 Burb i took my center console out not realizing that i need that for my radio to work. Ugh. I installed a jumper seat because I like how open it is without the console. Guess i gotta out it back in though hahaha. Looks like bose out everything in the console... Amp, sub, etc....
@@PostalRedneck I got everything working by switching a plug under the dash really easy . Definitely may try to hide the amo and speaker somewhere it sounds like ass now though lol
I think I might have to try to. I would have to buy a cheap amp as most automotive speakers are 4ohm and CB's use 8ohm. I could probably find an amp for $20 on amazon that would work.
Hey I’m in some dire need of help lol I’ve done everything in the video so far but now wiring the fuel thing to my bcm and my bcm connectors are different it’s in a 2006 gmc Sierra 1500 5.3 what wire would I connect it too now instead?
Thanks for the no bullshit video. Thank you
You're welcome. Lots of screwing around but to this day I love this center console and im so happy I spent the time to install it.
I thought I was doing good adapting a GMT800 console set to my GMT400! You went to town on yours! All the bells and whistles!

really helpfull video. I love how you actually went out and figured out how to do the wiring nice and neet

Wow that is a lot of work to switch over, but lots of cool gains in the switch! Great overview of the process.

Thanks. Wanted to make sure the next person has an easier install than me with where all the wires go. Now I need to do this to my Yukon build.
Nice video can't wait to see you change the seats and the next video 😁
LOL yeah them seats are rough. I only have $209 into that truck. Its my winter beater so I just deal with them.
Would this work on an 05 Yukon XL? I can’t think of a reason they wouldn’t but I’ve been blown away before

Thanks! I still to this day love the lay out of this center console and happy I did it.
Buggy Builders Show? Opening Day? Dog Pound video? These are the burning questions... lol

That DIC is worth it just to add the estimated fuel range that doesn't come on 01/02 models! Does the MPG average seem to be accurate?

Its going to be a bit more difficult as if I remember right there are quite a few green wires but other than that everything should be easy.
Do 2002 gmc Yukon dash parts fit in an Escalade 2005 ? I can’t find 03-06 Denali interior parts only 2002
