Alfie once again earned Tommy's respect here - the only person who can stand their ground in front of him and talk him out of blind rage while they are at gunpoint. Because he is just as intelligent as Tommy and even more calculated than him and what he speaks is true - Tommy is paying for his own decision to enter the criminal life. It was his choice and his own responsibility, he cannot point fingers on anyone else than himself. And Alfie was the first one to finally throw it in his face. As such, he earns massive respect from him even when he's working for the enemies. Tommy looks absolutely enchanted by his speech. He needed to hear it. Finally someone tells him NO and corrects him. Someone who doesn't fear him or love him, or is his enemy. He needed to hear it from his equal, which Alfie is. Someone who is just as wicked as him. His own mirror. No wonder he didn't want to kill Alfie but knew that it would eat him away if he did let him live after what he has done. Alfie would only be tempted to keep betraying him and trying his patience because he would see that Tommy has no balls to bring consequences for his actions. But Tommy found an "honorable" reason to end it and so he did. Alfie did taste the consequences of facing Tommy Shelby and had enough for lifetime. They had their "eye for an eye" moment and their grudge is settled. From that moment on I think they are genuine friends in my opinion. Not heart to heart friends, but two old time collegues in criminal underworld who know eachother enough by this point that they can safely collaborate because they know EXACTLY what they are capable of and what to expect from eachother. Once one of them dies for whatever reason the other won't mourn them, but they will always remember eachother and what they learned from their relationship. Alfie would definetly compare future criminal masterminds to Tommy, and Tommy would always remember what Alfie taught him.
^Not sure if asking this question is an inside joke, but at the expense of being r/wooshed and redundant, yes there is! Knight is screenwriting, Tom Harper is directing, Murphy is acting and producing! Netflix and BBC Film are distributing, production aims to begin late 2024; hopefully other cast members will soon be confirmed to return. 🗣️ GET HYPED YALL 📣
Best monologue ever. The writing was superb. To imagine we went from this to whatever Season 6 was. Aside from Arthur and Tommy's bonding, there was not much to like about S06.
the "Oh you should've done that" line is almost comedic for the moment, in a sense as one would knock over a glass of milk or stain a shirt with condiments
No offence to the actor that played Michael here but he is LEVELS below Tom & Cillian in this scene and just in general. They are two absolute pros at the top of their game and ‘Michael’ looks an amateur here
He should channel this for his CBBC childrens' stories spot. "JUST GET TO FACKIN' BED AWRIGH! YOU SEEN THE FACKIN' TIME? YOU LOT 'AVE FACKIN' SCHOOL TOMORRAH! FACKIN' LIBERTIES. GET TO FACKIN' BED! The end."
JUST LIKE ME.... one of the most intense lines in the whole show
WILSOOOOOOOOOON
Some of the best acting done by anyone, at anytime, on any screen. Tom Hardy owned it.
Alfie doesn't care if he's gonna get killed. He taught a very valuable lesson to Tommy here
“God himself spoke to me and He said ‘Alfie you are meant to have these things’”
This is the best scene in the whole show
It’s the best scene of the last 10 years of television
alfie being mad at tommy for being hypocrite is a funny bit if you think about it. but the acting are just masterclass

One of my favourite scenes in the whole Hollywood world
the "Oh you should've done that" line is almost comedic for the moment, in a sense as one would knock over a glass of milk or stain a shirt with condiments
I always love Alfie's response of "Yeah, I knew, you know. But damned as I am, it made no fucking difference to me, mate"
Tom Hardy steals every Peaky Blinders scene he's in
Alifie must betray his partner whoever it is. But everyone want to contract him. He is attracive beast.
Just showing a message from Tommy and Alfie would stop bully's everywhere
I imagine real life ain't so cinematic
