The bearings run in oil from the differential. Grease packing is irrelevant. That's the same oil that's all over the brake shoes and drum that he's re using.

The confirmation is the washer plate he installs before putting the axle shaft in… that would completely block the flow of oil if it was an oil hub.

Регулировка подшипника- собираем ступицу устанавливаем колесо, проверяем люфт , доводим люфт зазор до минимально ощутимого рукой на колесе. Потом ставим полуось. Проезжаем немного и проверяем люфт колеса. Минимально ощутимый люфт необходим для циркуляции смазки при работе. Без зазора подшипник меньше работает.

This is a greased hub that doesn’t share oil with the diff. You will find outside of North America that most hubs run grease. Note the washer plate that is installed prior to the axle shaft. No oil would be able to get into the bearings with that plate there

To pack a bearing without spending all day doing it you put the grease in the palm of your hand and push the grease with the heel of hand into the gap between the inner race and the cage from the large end. Work your way around the bearing. Keep packing the grease until you see it coming out from between the full length of the rollers.

They have to put grease in there no gear oil has made it to the bearing. The bearings would burn up before they could get bathed in oil .That circulates by the axle rotation. The axle is sealed no oil would ever contact the brakes. Unless there is a problem.
Those bearings are supposed to be lubed by the gear oil in the axle. I'm guessing the seal is shot, they don't have a new seal, so they used grease to slow down the leaking. Won't last long
If you pay attention they used a special seal at the end of the spindle which isolates the hubs from the rest of the axle. Almost all these class 8 axles can be run with grease or oil and grease works a lot better.

People seem to forget that because of the economies in other countries, the price of new parts is highly expensive, while the labour cost is so low. It just makes financial sense to do everything in their power to fix a part instead of replace it.
Most Pakistani Trucks do not have odometres on them, they actually have driven millions of miles because most of the old trucks were discontinued in the 1950's which are still on the road after important repairs. 😅😅😅

Ничего подобного, 10 лет отработал на КАМАЗЕ. Сколько раз разбирал ступицы , там так же. Колодки менял, подшипники ни разу.

Да и ступицу без установки колеса хоть на 2 болта (гайки) нельзя отрегулировать так иначе не поймать правельную затяг и нужный там минимальный люфт.

Most Pakistani Trucks do not have odometres on them, they actually have driven millions of miles because most of the old trucks were discontinued in the 1950's which are still on the road after important repairs. 😅😅😅

Seemed like the bearings on our semis had a minimal interference fit. Bearings that don't have close clearances will creep and eventually spin.

bare hands is crazy, im a mechanic too but you gotta look out for yourself too. As we know, alot of them chemicals and products we use are pretty carcinogenic so you gotta try to minimize your exposure

Washing the oil off the brake pads with gas or diesel isnt the best idea but it work. Greasing the bearings even though it is oil lubed is also ok
