Maine Coone also has an M on their forehead!
I've got one of these things. He's fucking ridiculous. He recognises my car, chases me home, and has full conversations with me telling me how his day's been when I get in. Absolute legend.

I understand. I have 2. 1 has claimed my mom as his and will have conversations every night. The other has claimed the couch and always demands belly rubs.
@@thecursed_1lordofcats738 Same as my frikin wife used to do.
I agree....I have a maine coon and she loves black coffee froth. She just loves it. And loves a lick of my fiber drink at night. And totally understands the language.
I had a MC who lived to be 19. Buz was a big grey cat and incredibly smart. One summer day my wife and I were arguing about her spending habits. I told her that it's getting to the point where we won't have enough money left for food. Little did we know that Buz was listening. A few hours later I walked into the living room and there, on the floor in the center of the room, was a blister pack of hot dogs. I was astonished and almost reduced to tears.
Buz must have exited the back door, climbed over the 6' wood fence in the back yard, stolen some poor guy's pack of hot dogs while he was in the house waiting for the grill to heat up, climbed back over the 6' wood fence while carrying the hot dogs, walked into the living room and gently placed them in the middle of the floor. They were in perfect condition with no bite marks. It was his contribution to the family.
I'll love that cat forever.
Plot twist: It was your wife and she told you it was the cat.

My uncle up in Alaska has 4 of these fuzzy mammoths. Whenever I go visit him I always end up having all 4 sleep with/on me during the night. Lord Floofles is especially snuggly and was probably a pillow in a former life cause he always worms his way into my arms and curls up into my chest when I sleep.

I'm always amused when someone says, cat owner. Right. Cat owner...
Good on you
I had a 30 pound Maine coon he was the best cat ever
I'm definitely my cats owner and it knows it. But I prefer the term companion, friend, or family. Why do people still spout that nonsense that cats are the dominate ones in the relationship dynamic. What type of doormat would someone need to be to let their cats dominate them?
Do you feed your cat?
Do you shelter your cat?
Do you offer protection for your cat?
Do you provide special medical aid by vet visits if needed for it's well being?
in nature the one that meets these needs in a pack or family is the leader or dominate member and thus all cat owners are the dominate ones.. good cats know this and mind their place.

Oh my goodness I hope mine lives that long. He’s the sweetest thing in the world.
Hairy! What a cute name!
These cats are dogs in cat bodies.
My baby loved car rides, would sit on command, love to sit in my bike basket, was trained, loved showers. And refused to chase mice. He look at me and say" Darling, I refuse to chase that dirty critter."
Please call the the exterminator ."
Oh, when speaking he had a British accent. Who knew!
Friends were amazed by our Maine Coon. Smartest cat I ever saw. He must have had a huge vocabulary because he would fetch objects on command. He was also the only cat I ever heard of who would return home when we called him, no matter where he was in the neighborhood. Did not drink water by lapping but scooped it up with his paw. Extremely clean and wonderfully loving. I’m a dog lover, but this MC changed my mind about cats. (He also got along extremely well with our older dachshund. The cat was so big the dachshund could walk underneath him.)
That cat shown in the intro wasn’t a normal maine coon size, that cat was overweight

Exactly I knew that immediately. I've own both a female & male Maine Coon cat. The male was 27 LBs at three. Sadly he passed away due to cancer I guess at almost 11 years old. But he and his grandfather were both huge. Zeus was 27 LBs and grand champion grandfather Big Mac was 32 lbs. They looked like twins but a few lbs lighter.
That cat is huge omg
And fat
Great aren’t they? I’d love one.
Jancy Varghese sry, that is true, but that purr-dude is fat AF
dsb188 yup that thing would eat a chihuahua
dsb188 that's what she said
I can’t even imagine the amount of cat fur these mini-lions must shed!!!!!
TallyHo I have two and they don’t shed at all! I’m not sure if this is normal for the breed but it does seem odd for a cat with such long fur. The only time any fur comes out is when they’re brushed! 😊
Lucy X how is that possible?! My little rag doll is a shedding machine!!
Ekaterina Prilezhaeva can u not
Lucy X My cousin has one and it doesn’t really shed much at all. She does have to shear his fur quite often underneath though, because, even just walking around in the house, he get’s VERY matted around his legs and underbelly.
Mine sheds only a little. My tabby though, omg so much
Best pets ever. I lost mine in 2018. I had him for 17 years. The best 17 years of my life. We've been through a lot together. Traveling throughout the country. Taking a job in a different state. And, a few relationships. I still think about him and smile as well as dream about him. I can't think of a better companion than a Maine Coon cat.
Take everything good about a dog and put it in a cat = Maine Coon Cat
Haha!! Yep! Best thing about a Maine Coon: they don’t bark!
The perfect mash-up of them both.
That's why I love them.

@@marswmnwhoever2188 no problem ☺️☺️ my kitties are my children, and we understand one another very well. 💙
I had one of the magnificent cats years ago. When he went outside neighborhood dogs would cross the street to avoid him. He was a real no nonsense cat and is still missed. He was with us for about 17 years.
we adopted a Maine Coone cat from our local shelter. We do believe he was abandoned as a kitten and maybe he was just "found" and brought to the shelter due to his personality. He was very aggressive, did NOT want to be touched at all. Now that we've had him for a few years, he's calmed down a LOT. He don't like tummy rubs, but he does love to cuddle in bed. This is the first time i've ever owned a Maine Coone and wasn't aware of how big they got, but I wouldn't trade my Maine Coone kitty for anything...despite him being a big cat, he's still my baby kitten :)
Just a piece of advice cats generally don't like tummy rubs, that's a very sensitive area for them. There are exceptions of course but most cats aren't into that. I'm glad your cat has found a loving home with you.
@@lanarey2809 by experience the only cats that might like to have their belly rubbed is the females, but only if they truly trust you. Mine, for instance loves having her belly rubbed and will often nag until I pet her there. However if I do the same on a ramdom cat that doesn't know me, my arm will definetily be mauled.
Cats as a rule do not like belly rubs. Being on their backs leaves them vulnerable and though they are predators they are not at the top of the food chain. Only one of our three part Maines likes her belly rubbed. She is a littlle piggy for love. Even food doesn't matter in comparison.
@@lanarey2809 Should see Ragdolls, I put my foot on mine while he's on the floor and jiggle him up and down and he doesn't protest at all lol.
I feel like it depends on the cat. Most of the cats we've had through my life have enjoyed having their belly rubbed. But we have gotten them all as kittens and they grew up with constant contact and love as a result being very devoted and affectionate as adults. My current cat was and abandoned stray who I later learned was a Bombay. She turned out to be extremely cuddly and affectionate. Loves to be held and rubbed all over. Most especially at the root of her tail. Is accustomed to being held belly up like a newborn human as that's the easiest way to hold her without her getting stuck to our clothing. For whatever reason the poor girl is not able to fully retract her claws.
They’re friendly giants ❤️
Yeah, I reckon they are. They have a personality similar to a dog's. So they'd be calm, and affectionate.
Yes they are. But never forget, that they are top predators. A grown Maine Coon, that has a bad day can easily bite off your finger, and it won’t even bother him much.
They don’t do that, but they could. When handling a big boy - or a girl with an attitude, one should never forget that.
My aunt got one in 1970 they had a 2 yr old dog , they played together, the dog ran around the area for years , then was getting attacked by some dogs down the street. the cat would follow the dog after that and terrorized aggressive dogs
I just got one yesterday. She's tiny. The runt of the litter. She's 12 weeks but the size of an 8 week old. She's awesome
We are collecting ours on Friday will be 12 weeks so great #rudythemadmanmainecoon
Where did you get it? I would love to get one.
@@germanarturo11 I live in Oklahoma but I'm sure you can find them almost anywhere. This post was almost a year ago so I'll give you an update- she is a ONE person cat and rather aggressive to other people although every cat is different. She's incredibly smart and loves to play in water but she's a mega bitch to anyone but me 😁
My male Zeus was the runt of four male kittens. But he got up to 27lbs all muscle, bone and thick beautiful fur. His grandfather Big Mac was also the runt of his litter he was32 lbs.
My Maine Coone was definitely my cat and not my husband's nor my son's. He had and attitude and treated the cat sitter as his servant. He would walk to her house and knock on her door when he was hungry. He would also swat to others from time to time just to remind others who was boss. He would sleep on my husband's side of the bed and would not move until physically moved somewhere else. I often wondered if my cat was jealous of my husband. He was a very smart cat and I miss him since his passing.
I've always found that male cats always relate better to ladies and the other way round with females. I've no idea why, but it always seems to be so.
Freddie would jump on the bed and walk over my husband like he wasn’t even there. Then he would very gingerly walk around me until he was settled in his spot.
Sorry to hear that your cat passed. That s do sad. He sounded like a typical cat and obviously loved you very much
By the way, he probably sat on your husband's side just o let him know, I OWN YOU
Dear cat lovers: I have the most beautiful orange tabby cat. His little paws look like he has white mittens on his front paws, and white booties on his back paws, with a white spot on his nose, and a white chest and tummy. I found him at a wonderful no kill shelter. This adorable little cat is all mine...he socializes with my sons, buy he is glued to me. He is with me all day long, right at my side. He is so precious to me that my sons ask me what am I going to do when Peanut dies...I have no answer. We have had alot of pets, with 6 sons, they always brought some neglected little animal for me to fix up.(I'm a registered nurse) but my Peanut is different. He acts like he really knows what I say to him. I'm a young widow, 5 of my sons are in the armed forces, and the youngest is at home. May God bless each of you wonderful pet owners, and your pets, too, of course. And, yes, I really don't know what I will do without him.I know you people understand me. And I'm so sorry about your dearly beloved cat passing. May your heart find comfort.
I had a one of these and he would lay across my neck when I was trying to sleep. I miss him. Big floofy
lol
They are incredible cats. Fantastically likable, smart, and sociable. A great breed.
Wife had a Maine Coon tom who was 23 pounds and not chubby. Best cat ever, and quite a personality. Very smart, super laid-back, and UNBELIEVABLY lazy. He was totally indifferent to dogs, but they were terrified of him. Goading him to exercise and keeping him brushed were the only hassles.
I have two of these babies, and they aren't kidding when they say it's not a breed for the faint of heart. Lol A regular litter box is too small - a large flat tote works better. And be prepared to use baby locks on cabinets or doors as needed. They will love a screened porch, and my mum does take hers on walks.
Baby locks, oh god yes. Ours likes to steal chip bags if we forget to close the cupboard all the way. She will also get into the cupboards and throw stuff out of them to make herself a bed.
Sophy Kitten might be a dumb question but as they do seem like friendly big giants why is it suggested you have prior experience of keeping cats?
Yes, we use low sided rubbermaid boxes for them. "regular cat litter boxes" are too small, and stupidly, more expensive. A cat litter is a plastic box, so buy a plastic box and save money!
Good call.
I have a female 2 years old and when she’s not getting my attention (usually in the wee hours), she goes in the kitchen and starts banging the cupboards. She also loves to lap up the water from the dripping tub faucet.
yes, they are very smart! I used to put baked goods in the microwave to cool so Tigger wouldn't into them, but then the clever kitty learned how to push the button to open the microwave!

Our Maine Coon, Mick, was part of our family for 17 years.
He was huge, 25 pounds in his prime, smokey gray with green eyes and a huge fluffy tail.
He was more like a dog than a cat, following our daughter around and was a clown at heart.
One of his favorite tricks was to sneak up behind me and meow so loud that I would jump out of my skin.
He would chuckle to himself and trot off.
He also got along great with our bulldogs, and loved to hang out with them.
He was a classic, and we loved him dearly.

I just adopted a Maine Coon that everyone wanted until they found out he was FIV and FeLV positive. Such a gorgeous, sweet boy, dealt an unlucky hand on the streets
My maine coon loves playing all day. She brings her toys to my partner and I and taps us to play with her. Her favorite game is playing fetch and catching the ball in the air. And she speaks the whole day. D: SHE IS ADORABLE
My grandma's cat was a Maine Coon, lived to be 22 and was super docile, could pet his tummy and pick him up, super loving and friendly cat, never heard him hiss
Oh my God, this cat is HUGE
I met a very handsome big boy named Henry at my local shelter. He was very large because he was on the streets for most of his teenaged live which allowed him to grow very large before he was neutered. He was a very soft cuddly boy who had trouble finding a forever home because he had to be kept separate from the other cats due to a medication/food that he was limited to. Poor baby. :( There are so many lovely shelter animals at your local shelter, so please consider adopting!
Rescued a Maine Coon 4 months ago, after he survived outdoors for 3 years. What a different kind of cat this is (than any of my previous)! Tough (yikes) but very loving, vocalizations (OMG) I've never heard before, super clean, polite, and loyalty rivaling a great dog. I heard this breed is expensive to buy, there's a reason.
Our beloved Maine Coon (Kaboodles) came to us as a "road cat" -- we rescued him on the coldest night of the year after a neighbor found him in their yard. He was about a year old, and lived with us for the next 13 years until he died of heart failure at 14.
About 30% of have a genetic mutation that makes it likely that they will develop hypertrophic cardiomyopathy - thickening of the muscle walls of the - and, in time, this condition leads to failure and/or other complications. (www.ufaw.org.uk/cats/maine-coon-hypertrophic-cardiomyopathy)
Boo was my best and dearest friend. When I was down he'd bring me a chipmunk (alive and uninjured) and drop in in front of me with a look that said "Here, have fun!" He loved chasing them and was sure I would, too.
Boo ran the entire household and supervised all the other cats. He loved riding in the car and went on vacations with us. He could tell time and never failed to wake me at 7 am for breakfast. If we dared shut him out of the bedroom he'd sit at the door and howl mournfully until we gave up and let him in (yes, we spoiled him rotten).
If you love cats and have the chance to share your life with a Maine Coon, you are truly fortunate! Just be aware that they can have health issues and make sure your vet is up to date on treatments and medication.
I had a Maine Coon years ago, and I would love to adopt another one ❤
My MC, Short Round, was a wonderful animal. Huge, affectionate, obedient, amazing. Loosing him and his sister was too much for me. I will never get another animal. The loss is just too much.
If it was a recent loss, wait awhile...you'll find that you miss having them around. I know I did. No I'm getting 2 MC kittens this week. Yay!! Can't wait....
You will know when you're ready. Take care.
Oh this is a great relief from the news! Time with the magnificent and beautiful cats! Ty!
I bought this little kitten and the only way I can explain his end size is maincoon black tuxedo 22lbs
I used to think that people, especially breeders, exaggerated maine coons' unique features until I adopted one, and the only thing I can really say after that is boy was I wrong. They absolutely are everything people say about them. Gentle caring giants with sweet melodic voices and so much more!
My little bro once hasn't seen me eating through the day, so he scolded me (judging by the intonation from a human standpoint, of course) and it looked like he even offered me some of his food while refusing to eat himself before I started eating. That, along with his behavior after he had excess eyelid skin removal surgery, when he once-seemingly out of gratitude to me for helping him while he was effectively blind for some time-jumped onto my bed, hugged my arm with his paws and fell asleep like that, which is uncharacteristic for him, for he prefers sleeping either on wide open spots or under my bed if he feels like not being harassed out of his relaxation and he-time (when we brought him home with him still being a little kitten with 0 understanding of who were these people who took him away from his mom, dad and siblings, while getting accustomed to our home he moved from under one peice of furniture to under another, and everyone tried to unceremoniously grab or at least lure him from there, even shining flashlight on him on a couple of occasions, so when he crawled under my bed I held our ground growling towards anyone trying to harass him even more; it became his safe haven since then, and he regularly goes to sleep undisturbed there).
Adopting a maine coon is like getting a sibling, a dog and the most controllable cat in one. Absolutely magical.
And don't even get me started on how seemingly smart and curious they are.
I’ve had one for 8 years, he’s the best :)
Absolutely beautiful...
My favorite cats by far. Smart, sweet and great with children in my experience. Mine actually required minimal grooming as others have mentioned. I will say though make sure you get one from a very reputable breeder who does genetic testing to avoid my heartbreak. One of mine lived to 9 but died of cardiomyopathy. The other one threw a saddle thromboembolism at 2 years old. I have never been more heartbroken in my life. My son who was almost 1 when we lost him looked at the stairs for weeks looking for "kaa" to come down. He still remembers him now at 6 years old. Take care.....
Incredible kitties, the ones I've experienced have all been incredible
I rescued mine from living in a drain in my apartment complex. Stella is absolutely stunning. I also have a cat, Luna, that my brother and I adopted together. She is incredibly territorial and mean. She’s coming along ever so slightly. However, Stella just wants Luna to love her. Stella is beyond cuddly and sweet, loves sleeping on my chest. She’s so tiny, from being abandoned and not knowing how to hunt for food without her mother. She is currently being nursed back to properly. I love my darling little rescue kitten ♥️

I had a Maine Coon in my life at one point in time. She had been separated from her mother at a very young age. When we first got her, she was out of control, almost like a wild animal, but got along with the cat we already had (whom was a very tiny cat, and much older, but he just wanted a friend) as the years went by, she got HUGE!!! But the little cat still holds his own when playing and chasing. She can be so sweet and caring, but turn on a dime. I chalk that up to be being separated so early in life. They're both still alive and doing well, just not physically in my life anymore. But I'm still sent photos of them regularly.
When I first went to sleep over my friends new house and he led me to this smaller portion of the house, he turned on the light and all I see is one of these cats standing on the counter, thought he bought a domesticated minx. Coolest pet I’ve ever seen in person.

My hubby says he got into some brake fluid or something... but I'm not sure. In any case, they are just the best pets. Leo even let my 2 year old granddaughter give him a kiss on his back. My Maine Coon, Abbadoon is 14 yrs. I love him dearly n he's great w kids. Great video !
The cat wearing the tie 😭😭😍❤️❤️❤️
Great Cats, We have a Grey/Black mix Named 'Fonzie' 🐺 Cause he's such a Cool Cat😉 Definitely Highly Intelligent - You can train them to walk on a leash- 👍
In awe of the size of that lad. Absolute unit.
As soon as the guy shifted the cat to face the camera and I saw the tie I screamed a little.
Just adding more perfection!!
Mine lived for 20 years. He was a good, big boy. RIP Simba.
Wow that's such a good age
my maine Coon's name is Nala.
I knew a coon cat that lived to be 28 or 29. I cant remember. The cat was a farm stud, ruling over many other cats, and the only one allowed in the house.
My twin babies I believe are Maine Coone mix. I fostered them as 4 week kittens and ended up keeping them. They don't mind water, chatter and meow a lot and thick soft fur and large fluffy tail. They grew so big after 1 year! So sweet and loving.
If you ever have the opportunity to get one, do it! I’ve owned cats my entire life. I was given one as a kitten and he is 10 now. They are very special. So social, sweet and loving. He loves to eat and eats almost anything I give him. He loves pulling fish out of our lake and eating them whole. And he loves getting high on catnip. He is so fluffy with the biggest tail anyone has ever seen. You can hold him anyway you want too. So as you can see I love my Maine Coon Cholly Boy. ❤️
My baby is a runt but he’s still twice the size of my other cat❤️❤️
Perfect combo of Thicc and fluffy.
Absolutely gorgeous. 💖
I want to adopt one. Love them.
Such a beautiful breed, my favourite.
Hello N B, how are you?
@@jennyrossman4614 hello, I am good, thanks for asking.
@@surendipity1 You welcome my friend, where are you from?
Love Main Coons❤️❤️
My Maine coon Toni was the best little creature ever. She had quite the personality. Happy to have had her for the 10 years we had her
Had a jet black shorthaired kitten when i grew up on the farm. I never got her shots never get her fixed, never touched her claws and did not need to bath her. And she was strong healthy brave and happy all the way to the end.
Fun fact: They might be related to Ron Perlman.
My little brother: why do we have a lion in our apartment
Me: that's not a lion it's a maine coon. Your just short
Aww. Is the cat's name Lion?
Zionne Makoma i named mine lion-o(thundercats)
I own a main coon myself, he is a 19 weeks old but he had a short hair, he does chatter every once and a while with my 18 weeks old Persian kitten, and he is so playful haha
We love ours. Really the best breed I have ever owned. So friendly and gentile. Mine is white with very light tan tabby markings. He is certified pure breed.
Yeah they dont play when they are old. i have a 18 year main coone also he does is find the best places to sit and meow really loud!
