Eric Rivera look at the bright side, people would probably look up to them and start taking action towards their kids unusual behaviors. Sometimes people are not aware enough about their kids.
Eric Rivera yes, but we must realize that the parents didn’t even take their kids to phil, they took them to hospital, and the right place for their kid. They were just sharing their story
I went to a mental hospital when I was 13-14 and there was a kid across my hallway around 7-8 give or take, he would openly tell us how he was in there for touching his sibling, assaulting and would threaten us too, it made us all others sick and wanted to beat the kid (we were kids) but still knew what was wrong from right, he kept lying to the hospital saying he got better but we knew he didn't and they let him go home smh

I feel like the fact that he told his parents everything was because he knew something was wrong with him and he didn't actually wanted to be that way.
I’m genuinely surprised he decided to get help. Like if he was so determined to hurt a child, then how come he decided to find help? Maybe he doesn’t FEEL bad for people, but he probably has the logic to know it’s not right, even if it doesn’t feel wrong
When doing horrible stuff a person ussualy dissociates that part of brain while the rest can function normaly. You can have a determination and will to do something horrible but the good part of your brain that keeps you in check throws obstacles in your way. Think about brain like a democratic system of neurons that each gives a vote before making a decision as a whole brain. There are no 100% bad people. Its always a "bad" part of the brain that hijacks the rest. Therapist ussualy want to make the good part of the brain take control over the bad part in problematic individuals. So in a way everyone is redeemable in terms of brain function, in the eyes of society tho...not so much. Money is also a big issue on top of that
maybe he knows he wont feel bad in that moment bc of his own needs being so strong but when hes calm he doesnt want to do it or become such a person. Something was repulsed by it or he would have not asked for such urgent help in such a direct manner he couldnt go back from

♡ Some people use Dr. Phil because they have tried everything within their resources. As you can see in this video their child has been recieving psychiatric treatment and is living in a facility. The parents are unhappy with his situation but it is the best they can do with the resources that they have. I think in part they are attempting to spread awareness and reduce the stigma, so other parents who are suffering with similar situations can feel less lonely and have some guidance. However they are also seeking for a better solution and hoping, perhaps naively, that Dr. Phil can provide them with more resources or answer. As you can see, they are good parents, and this is a particularly shameful topic, so you can imagine they must have been particularly desperate to ask for help on TV.
I agree with you, those who want control and are sexually aroused through violence often leads to escalation-murder. I very much believe this boy is a serial killer in the making.
They will now, they have put themselves on international TV, exposing their child, this is so wrong, they should of sought help of course but Dr Phil. I'd hate them if they were my parents.
I agree...his comments about forcing someone, finding ways to keep them quiet, wanting to be in control and feeling powerful...He could've become one. I think the main difference between him either becoming a serial killer or a serial rapist is the fact that he actively chose to tell his parents and seek out treatment. Sure, that treatment may not have been effective up to this point, but it may be the factor that he needs to help turn his life around.
You need to have 100% trust on your parents to tell them this truth about you. And the kid didn´t act, he asked for help. That says a lot in favour of the way the parents raised him.
I’m just glad he was able to tell his parents before he did anything. My older brother was the same (luckily got better with treatment), but he didn’t tell my parents until the police were at our door.
what exactly did he do that made the police to come to the door but didn't get him locked up for life? if he acted upon his urges in any way I can't imagine how 1. he's possibly doing any better mentally 2. he's still alive and walking society 3. you don't have immense hatred for him this story seems sketchy..

At the same time, he had come clean about everything, no doubt due to the phenomenal parenting of his step-mom. This behavior is almost certainly due to abuse inflicted by his previous father-figure. @Cork lad I'm the same age as him and I've know that it's wrong since I was wayyy younger. You cant excuse something as disgusting and wrong as that just by saying he's young. He's old enough to know the consequences of his actions.
Yep. Lots dont come forward out of fear of being seen as a monster or attacked. Which leads to no help and leads to a good possibility of them acting on it
Chloe Skaf he said he would rape his siblings if they didn’t get him the help he needed. He is clearly terrified of his desires to hurt those close to him. He wants it, but he also knows it’s wrong.

Definitely agree....when someone knows something isnt right in their head they should tell someone no matter what because the worst that can happen is someone stayed silent and gave into their urges

They do actually have medication that significantly reduces libido. I just wish it wasn't such a taboo illness, otherwise more people might seek treatment. By law, therapists don't keep confidentiality if you or someone else's life is in danger so they have to report it to the police. I don't know why people think alienating the worst of the worst fixes anything. They just learn to hide in the shadows and pretend to be your friends/family. Yes..that fact that at his young age he had a mature mental capacity to realize that all the things he's thinking of are not normal behaviors. I'm saddened for him and his family.
@@LaceyLace_ I do also agree that it is a great thing that he came forward about it early on and saw it as him recognizing that it isn't normal. However, the mom is reading off a list of what I'm assuming the hospital has observed about him saying that he sees these violent sexual urges as normal and doesn't realize that there will be real consequences.
For everyone saying he’s been abused himself by the parents or anyone else. With how open this kid is, I’m sure he would have told his doctors if that had happened.
I'm not a mental health professional but I think that sometimes people have OCD which can cause obsessive thoughts regarding things which they consider to be horrible and deep down are afraid of doing those things. At such a young age you can become obsessed with sexual ideation when the body is surging with hormones. If this child was left to his own on the internet this could become worse. Once the child becomes used to getting satisfaction from daydreaming about these ideas it would be really difficult to break this thought pattern which provides pleasure but it all started with obsessive thoughts. Just my personal thoughts. This family did the best they could.

She said she’s asked the kid if anything happened he said that he doesn’t remember but he said that it’s possible

By going on Dr. Phil and making it extremely easy for people to discern his identity? The kid is the one I commend. He's having these thoughts and urges that he knows are wrong, and it took a lot of humility and courage for him to tell someone. It really amazes me that the parents didn't put him in treatment immediately. He had to tell them he was going to act on those urges unless they got him help right then. I don't like the fact that they went on Dr. Phil. People can figure out who he is, especially in their hometown. Now, even if he never acts on those urges, he's going to be treated like a criminal.

If you try to think about it, what problems has Dr Phil really solved? He just keeps bragging that he’s “trying to help”. All he really does is getting interesting stories on tv. If you only care about making money, at least stop saying how important u r and that ur helping.
Dr. Phil’s team knows there are people out there with good ideas to help this family. They’re scouring the comments looking for them. Since this is such a bad situation, they’ll consider any good idea. This family needs all the help they can get.
Who has this child been around that created this in him? I would start looking at people around him because usually the people that do these types of things to kids are someone they know! I’m so glad that the parents took action to get him help and out of the home!
@RIP DA REAL GEE MONEY TBG GORILLA GANG It's obvious that deep down he didn't want to do it, so he admitted to it before he could do anything. If he truly wanted to do it, he would not have ever told them. But those urges are legitimate and if the parents didn't intervene he definitely would have done it.
WaffleMinion my abusive ex was like this kid except he did act on it and was still allowed back into the home(with the victim). I didn’t find out until after the abuse against me started and it just made me more fearful.
Actually the parents are really open with Robbie hence he could say all this to his parents rather than acting upon his urges! And the guts and patience the parents showed by admitting their own child for treatment! Really commendable..
The parents are heroes, they saved potentially many victims from losing their childhood too early, and lifelong trauma. I can’t imagine how this would feel, I hope Robbie is able to heal, and no longer be a monster. (Though the chances are slim…)
This is why parent-child communication is important. Imagine if these parents never bothered to talk to their children. That kid could be rlly dangerous if he was left un medicated
Like Dahmer, yes. It's very possible that when children brought up well adjusted, loved, and not neglected, they can avoid a whole lot of communal suffering that will otherwise happen. Most of not all killers come from some extreme dysfunction or imbalance early on. That sets the scene.
The parents are super lucky their son came to them and told them about how he was feeling but most importantly it makes me so happy that they took action and didn’t just turn a blind eye to it
I agree with you, I’m interested to see how they resolve this because he seems so far down the path that there’s no turning back. I mean hopefully something because that’s pretty screwed up
I say load him up with a small dose of LSD in a therapeutic setting and gather why he thinks he might feel these things, and is it possible the ego is wrong? Because his whole vibe and wave is urkingly dark and sexual. Let him see himself for who he is
The fact these parents took the steps to protect not only their other children but children in their community is such an amazing thing that they where able to do.
Any other household and things could have gone much differently such as him not feeling the need to go to an adult about these urges and just acting on them and even worse not getting caught doing it or getting the help he needs.

To be worrying about the safety of the other kids, but also, just knowing your son who’s having those thoughts can probably never have a happy and normal life... that’s just really sad and I feel for them a lot.
So they didn’t even check if someone did something to him as a young boy?? Sometimes when victims can’t comprehend what what happened to them they do to people what was done to them
maybe this boy's "urges" were caused by a trauma, but some people are born like this. Some people lack empathy due to an issue in the brain, or simply genetics. The human brain is very complex and sadly sometimes a mental/psycholigical problem is not caused by trauma (wich could have been avoided) but it's just how they were born

If the parents haven't been this proactive, they could have had a serial killer on their hands.

This is a rare example of a serial killer being studied before he starts commiting the crimes.
This is very true.
Very scary.
At the same time, he had come clean about everything, no doubt due to the phenomenal parenting of his step-mom. This behavior is almost certainly due to abuse inflicted by his previous father-figure. I feel that there should be no reason that this behavior can not be purged, but the system does not seem to be interested in that.
A J It doesn’t mean he was abused by anyone. I had a relative like this and he was never abused. He just enjoyed inflicting passion for his sexual purposes. He has since committed suicide. He did that when he became a parent.

Once the child becomes used to getting satisfaction from daydreaming about these ideas it would be really difficult to break this thought pattern which provides pleasure but it all started with obsessive thoughts.

da moab That’s exactly what I thought. They seem like completely normal parents yet he turned out like this. People aren’t just born evil.
Yep,perfect parents. They seem like great people and don't deserve this.
da moab but also other people besides his parents can effect him too.
Camila Hernandez pedophilia is something in the brain no matter how bad of a joke you had as a kid it can’t make you a pedo
Camila Hernandez some people are actually born evil. It sounds like this kid has psychopathy which is a genetic predisposition, doesn’t have to do with how his parents raise him
In the process of trying to help their kid not become a monster. They made his life really hard for him not to become a monster by taking him on dr phil
Honestly, respect to the kid for openly telling his parents everything. This whole situation is really depressing.
I get what you mean but did you really just say respect to the kid
@@isidjdjjdjdj5420 obviously he’s a danger to their family, particularly the other children, but at least he didn’t not tell them. He could’ve actually went through with his claims and raped his siblings. I tend to be optimistic so that’s why I say this.
