Apple just released iOS 17.4 Beta 2 to registered developers, and soon to Public Beta testers.
This update contains a few minor changes and addresses some issues with Beta 1. In this video, we cover those new features, and we also talk about the performance & battery life on iOS 17.4 Beta 2, along with when to expect iOS 17.4 Beta 3 and iOS 17.3.1. Enjoy!

Yes I installed iOS 17.4 beta 2 on my iPhone XR, and it is running smoothly. So I am happy with that.

@@mrarticle622iOS 17.3.1 is horrible , Facebook is lagging , the keyboard disappears , all kinds of weird shit happened to me I had to update to this beta and this beta is paradise .
The city digital watch face looks interesting. I always wonder why Apple doesn't expand the list of cities associated with the clock app. For example, in Florida they have Miami but not Orlando. It's really frustrating sometimes.
Probably because Miami is a much much much larger city than Orlando. They’re both in the same time zone and the sunset and sunrise are very close to each other.

what issues did you have?
@@BrandonButch stickers was one. My phone would freeze randomly. Also, when I tried to go on safari at work it would say that it could not communicate to server but at home no issues. Not sure if last issue is related to beta.
I was getting some stuttering issues on my 14 pro
Battery was great though.
Also helping someone with recovery keys is cool too. I helped my mom restore her iPhone. 😅
Edit: specifically with the rotation of the screen in ANY rotatable app was the main issue in beta 1 for me

Speaker cracking problem for iPhone 15/15pro
One thing that changed which was not mentioned is that shortcut app icons now show the app icon when you click on them, You know those custom app icons you add to the home screen from shortcuts.

I’ve been having a bug (not on beta) for about 2 months now. If I use the slideshow in photos for more that 5 minutes it crashes the app
The photos taken with 15 pro max's proraw 48mp were worse than the 14 pro max's proraw 48mp, did they fix this?

Battery life compared to ios 17.3
There was a bug on Beta 1 where wallpapers didn’t let me change the picture but now in Beta 2 it does let me.
I installed beta2 on mine 15 Pro Max and I can drastically see a battery life improvement.

yeah i have a 15 pro max and ios 17.3 has been horrid to my battery life 😂 it feels like it drains so much quicker
On my xs max battery just drop 1% after update now is 88% I started from 100 % last year changed with one new.After each ios update from ios16 battery life dropped.
17.3 drained my battery bad. 17.4 beta 1 has been a bit better for my battery life but not great. But it’s also been very glitchy for me. I have a 14 pro max. I’m afraid to get this beta 2.

Is anyone on 17.4 having issues with Shortcuts? Sometimes shortcuts (not automations) won’t run when I click them.
I’m having problems with dictation. Since this update my dictation doesn’t work. When I press the microphone it shows a green microphone and the language but isn’t allowing me to dictate. I speak to the microphone and nothing shows. Please anyone can help me?
It’s like 6 updates and they still haven’t fixed the Voice Message button that if you try to do back to back voice messages it gets stuck and it doesn’t record🤦🏻♂️

Now a wallpaper-aware gradient-much slicker.

Passkeys and Security Keys are not the same, the page has nothing to do with this Option.
Security Key means you have a physical device to login (as 2fa) to the apple services.
Passkey is a technology which should replace passwords. So if you register an account on a website you don't enter a password, your phone has a passkey, this get send to the site and act as a password (really simplified).
In the new Option you can look which passkeys you're using for which websites.
My size of the iOS 17.4 Beta 2 Update is 741,5GB. I have an iPhone SE (2Gen I think…)

@02:44 _Passkeys_ are *NOT* the same as _Security keys._ Passkeys are the new form of passwordless authentication that you can save within (iCloud) Keychain. If you do, other apps and web browsers can access them. The setting mentioned here must have something to do with that
Security Keys are actual _devices_ used to authenticate users on computers (and by extension phones and tablets). They do have a commonality with Passkeys, because they can be used to authenticate logins on websites and for services. Setting them up is nigh-on identical in those cases, too.

⚠️Bug in ios 17.4 beta2, newly downloaded apps not showing in app library and popup for calls is messed up the call time is half cropped and contact posted is cropped in popup!
Is using all betas will damage battery or have heat ?
Sometimes
I like to bypass the codes, finger prints, facial etc. ... I don't want a passcode ... and I think someone said 17.3 FORCES people to use a code or something ....... is this try or can I choose NOT to use one? I am hesitating upgrading to 17.3 because of such rumor. I hate the apple vision gig big time ........ too much technology taking away people's real life.
I hope this update helps with my CarPlay acting funny vs waiting for GM to send an update with a fix …

Shitty thing is that when they add the option for Siri to read message out loud almost every country has its own language but Slovakia or Czech Republic don’t. It’s said that Siri exists for so many years and they still haven’t added an option for Siri to work in more languages. I would definitely still use Siri in English but reading messages in other languages should be an option.

Been running iOS 17.4 beta 2 for a few days now and it’s been amazing a lot less buggy then 17.3 and I end the day with about 15% more battery then I did on 17.3
