- Apple AirPods Max Review in 2024 - Still Worth it 3+ Years Later?
Apple's AirPods Max were clowned on immediately for their $549 price tag and the silly case they came bundled with but after more than 3 years of daily use, I think these headphones are still misunderstood. So in this video, we revisit the AirPods Max in 2024 to discuss how far they've come in terms of firmware updates, durability, pricing, and usability. We also discuss whether or not they're worth buying in 2024 even if AirPods Max 2 get released later this year. Enjoy!

Do you have the AirPods Max, or are you fine with regular AirPods?
I got my AirPods Max last year and I love them. I don’t use my regular AirPods much anymore
I use fake airpods pro lmao
I have the AirPods Max and the AirPods Pro 2 but I like the Max much better.
I dont like over Ear Headphones, thats whats keeps me from not buying the Max. I prefer to have Small discrete AirPods Pro that i can put in my pockets. SO i use AirPods Pro 2.Gen
I got mine 2021. I rarely use them anymore because I don't video conference as much. I agree it's a good audio quality.
Would you recommend these for someone with nerve pain in their neck and shoulders?
You are spot on with your airplane comment. I’ve used a ton of headphones while traveling and I haven’t found anything that matches the noise isolation that these do.
exactly! I used to always bring 2 pairs of headphones when I first got the APM but ended up selling every other pair I owned since none compared
The anc and transparency on APM is insane. I dont get how ppl claim Airpods Pro 2 come anywhere close. I have both.
The absolute must have accessory for these: not a case, but a silicone cover for the headband! There is no downside to the look and feel of the APM, but you do protect the most vulnerable part of the design from aging poorly. Its a must have.
I think I subbed to you around 20k. Look at you now. Thanks for all the informative video’s. 👏💪
I can’t use my daily headphones as workout headphones. Is that a hot take?
Brandon, this vidoe pushed me to pull the trigger. I have my regular pro2 all the time and I’ve been craving some over ears with the apple magic that my Pros Have. Can’t wait to have some good headphones to listen to at home.
Thank you for this comprehensive video.
Whats up with that hourglass in the background? Do you roughly time your videos with it? ⏳
Currently listening to this video with some maxes on. I got them in September.
Some restrictions have nothing to do with the chip. This includes, for example, personalized volume. This feature is not performed by the AirPods themselves, but is made possible by the machine of learning on the paired device. Conversation awareness is also a feature that should work. The microphones of the AirPods always listen anyway in order to be able to respond to Siri requests. They also recognize when speaking and do not read messages out loud while talking.
I absolutely love mine. They feel great and sound amazing. But I’ve had a weird issue with mine ever since I got them. The slightest bump or movement on my head, and they make a little pop sound and disconnect then turn back on in transparency mode. I sent them in to be checked and repaired and got them back about a week later. They said they found nothing, and I never had an issue again. Until about a month later when the same issue returned. I still don’t know what the problem is.
what do you think, get these or wait for the second gen? been really contemplating this
I would wait for the second generation but if you really need them go for it because their a solid pair of over ear headphones. I only say wait because there is only a matter of time before they can release a new pair as there are lots of rumors going around right now that they might release them at wwdc or the september iPhone event.
I answer this question in the video!
Bought mine at launch & they stopped working months ago, seems to be a pretty common issue
how do you clean the earcup mesh Brandon😭?
Great review! I was thinking getting a brand headphones, the price was my main concern. Maybe I can get used ones or refurbished and safe some money.
i dont trust refurbished or second hand devices. But if you have money, get them brand new, you wont regret
I’m really thinking of buying the AirPods Max for at home use and I’d remain using my AirPods Pro outside. Is there a big difference between the H1 and H2 chips that the gen 2 max might have? Because if not I would just buy the first gen now.
I think the big difference that the Gen 2 APM will have is USB C, conversation awareness, personalised volume and adaptive noise control that the Airpods Pro(2nd gen) have thanks to the H2 chip. And gen. 2 will obviously get upgraded with H2/H3 so those will be the only new features. I think the sound quality will be the same, so if these features are not a big deal to you i would recommend you get Gen 1 now
I agree with you on all of it. I love my max's and I use them mostly with a Windows PC for gaming and content consumption. I'm actually using them right now that way. The main reason I got them is for the transparency and ANC modes. Spatial audio is really good with my iPhone 15PM too. Best headphones I've ever had, only thing I would change is the lightning connector. The meme-worthy bra case does a really good job when traveling, fits in my carry-on backpack easily. I use the windows MagicPods app so the audio seamlessly switches between my PC and the Maxes when I take them on and off. Shows Battery percentage too. They work amazingly well in almost all situations except the gym. They tend to slide off during bench press and running on the treadmill. I use Powerbeats Pros for that. Good video, been subscribed for years.
Looking forward to the second generation
Do you expect it to come out this year?
They said it is gonna be December of this year
@@MADEinkorea445 Nice. Thank you so much
Me too!
@@TheBlackburn1998fingers crossed
Great video I just bought a used one under warranty for 300 Mint green I love mine.
I loved my AirPods Max, best sound, best ANC, and best transparency by far. But I think they have a serious design flaw, just a year after I got mine whenever I touched the right earcup it died and the headset disconnected and restarted, and looking online A LOT of people have had this issue and it seems to be caused by the design of the connector between the earcup and the headband
Wow, interesting 🤨. Thankfully I haven’t had that happen but hopefully it gets adjusted for gen 2
Same exact issue I had. Drives me nuts!
Same here! Mine started acting before the one year mark and Apple said they basically replaced almost everything - I got it back and it worked for 3 months then the same issue came back. by then I was so comfortable with AirPod pro that I never use these anymore.
Yeah, mine does the same thing.
Never ani problem I love my set
I’ve had several earbuds but I bought my first full size headphones a few months ago, I got the Beats Studio Pro on sale for 180. After initially using them for hours at a time they now get used much more sparingly, overhead headphones are just not something I have much use for. On the other hand my earbuds are waterproof and small enough to be carried in my pocket case and all
Love them for the gym, however, how do you clean the mesh? Might have to buy new ones?
please let me know when you find out😭mine are starting to get dirty
@@ndeeankasilicone covers! amazon sells them, they also cover the headband
Calling a headphone misunderstood is really funny
It is funny. Just read the comments on this video and it proves how misunderstood they still are.
Leave it to Apple to make controversial headphones 😂
It's true tho. Theres so many things about this product that to this day are misunderstood.
@@BrandonButchdamn😂
what can u expect from apple sheep if he says anything bad about apple its done for his career which is understandable tbh lol
@@surfersunknown Why should he say something bad if there is no reason to do so? Whether you like it or not, Airpods max are the best pair of headphones till now. If you don't like to buy apple products not because they'r bad, just cause you think people are "sheep" than that's your problem. Also Brandon criticized apple a lot of times, ur just clearly ignorant and being salty for no reason.
When I bought my first pair of AirPods Max back in January 2022 (at 17 😁), they were amazing and I loved everything about them. I bought it from Amazon. However in August 2022, I experienced technical issues such as water damage, and no audio sound when connected, and random disconnections. From August 2022 to January 2023 I sent Apple my AirPods to fix. They claim to fix it, but each month the water damage was persistent and wouldn’t go away after Apple fixed it. So it made me sad to slowly give up fixing my AirPods; later in August 2023 , I saved up and I went to buy a new pair from Apple and it’s been great ever since. I hope Apple releases a new model with the new H chip and USB- C and 30 or 40 hour battery life. Great video as always Brandon and voice too!
Would get a case for the mesh headband, helps keep it in tact longer
When do you think the AirPod max series 2 will come out?
Nobody knows, but if you want to buy them, you might as well hold out until after the event in early May on the off chance they get revealed then
you didnt actually hang up on that phone call in your demonstration you muted it lol
You can change your preference in call control settings.
One thing I will say is if you have APMs, definitely try out using them wired as they do sound noticeably better and are good up to around 24/48 quality. Theres a lot of misconceptions regarding APM wired mode, but trust me just try it out. Yeah you need 40 dollars worth of apple's official cables, but if you already bought APM you might as well. 😂
I’ll pass. Wires fray and short out over time. I’ll never get the obsession with cords for like a 10% increase in sound quality.
@@TravelerVolkriin thats fine if you dont like wires. just know theres a huge difference between bluetooth quality and wired quality. and in a fewyears, apple will offer that higher quality in wireless form so you dont have to bother with wires.
Same here day 1 user no issues just wish the mesh stood firm but I got a accessory for that other then that no issue at all
Im on my 2nd pair . My 1st pair i had since day one stopped connecting and charging.
I use mine everyday for at least 9hours a day while working . I love them more than any other headphones even at the price point being so high
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day.
I had the Max for about 6 months and had to sell them because they were tight against my ears. I stretched them and it still didn’t help.
I completely agree with everything in this video.
Would you recommend these for a truck driver?
you need to hear the traffic while driving bruh
@@reconreconreconfr what type of time bruh on 😂😂
I'm generally done with over the ear headphones, beacuse when you want to take them you must have a bag with you
while with TWL headphones you just put them in you're pocket and that's it..
Not pulling the trigger on the APM due to 1)lightning port, 2) so many problems people report, and 3) stupid case that I cant get over. Really hoping to see if APM2 going to come out soon. I'm decided that APM are better for me (being 100% in the apple ecosystem) than the Bose or Sony offerings. I recently picked up the B&W Px7 S2e and B&O H95 to scratch the itch, but I think APM2 will be an instabuy for me (with apple care, of course).
I really hope for the gen 2 of these they add changing headbands the headband mesh is too thin and I think it should have som foam in it like the earcups does!
Any idea when the next version of these AirPods might come out?
This september

How do you not get scammed on eBay buying a pair of Airpod Max
The mesh on the head band is sagging loads on mine. I’ve had mine for 3 years and in that time that is my only complaint. It’s a shame thought as it makes then terribly uncomfortable for long sessions.
I bought mine day one and use them daily and have traveled with them. I have no wear and tear issues. They have held up great!
Would you ever do a travel edc video?
i absolutely love my airpods max! i cannot wait for apple to update it with usb-c, h2/3 chip, and better microphones. the only thing i hate about my airpods max's are the headband mesh being loose overtime, i wish apple sells replacement for the headband as well.
Same! I never had an issue with my mesh headband - did you do anything unique that caused that or did it just happen over time?
I heard from another reviewer that they do replace the headband if you have AppleCare.
Got these 6 months after they came out and love them.
mine stop working for no reason after years…
connected to the phone but no music is playing…
apple cannot offer anything and says just buy a new one.
Same here, 3 years.
Never heard of that happening before. Weird!
Try detaching the individual ear-cups and clean the connector. That did the trick for me for a few months but they eventually just stopped working.
@@BrandonButch Go to the comment section of any newer video on these, it’s extremely common
@@xdarshan That worked at first, not now lol
I use them all the time to with the Apple TV to watch movies late at night.. They are still worth getting, even with the rumors of a new model coming later this year. Thanks for sharing.
I got my AirPods Max about 6 months after they were released, and I don’t use them every day, but I do use them multiple times per week. I love their ease of use, due to being always on and immediately connecting, and I completely agree about their case design. Traveling with them is by far the simplest for over-ear headphones, and I also have had no worries about damaging them.
I enjoy watching TV shows and movies with them; however, I turn elsewhere for listening to music. I think vocals could be better, and the bass is far too weak for my taste. I have Bose QC Ultras for music and I love the way they sound. But I don’t use them as much because the case is more of a hassle, they take longer to connect, and toggling between ANC/immersion requires me to hold down a button for like 3 seconds. They’re less convenient, but I still love those headphones.
I also have had no problems ever with battery life on the APM. And again, I turn to these by far the most for over-ear use due to pure convenience. Super easy to stow in their case, always on and ready to connect, and very quick to change volume or toggle between hearing modes. I really couldn’t think of a better design.
I like mine but wish they were USB c. Unfortunately I was stupid and made mine personalized so I can’t resell them.
Can’t use any aftermarket ear cushions. Pairing with any device can be a hassle if you unlock your iphone while using them. They prefer the iphone. The right and left side clink together when you take them out of the case. They are heavy as hell for gym use. As much as I love them. Xm4 xm5 are a better choice. Oh yeah. And not being able to turn them off. They are always on. How many times i have charged them. Not used them for a few days and came back to a low battery. This is the worst for me.
I completely agree. I’ve have mine for about 3 years. I love them even now than when I first bought them
I just got my first set of these 2 days ago on eBay for $350. They were brand new still wrapped. Because of that, they’re on an old firmware (8 updates back) and I’m having trouble getting them updated since you can’t force an update and have to wait for it to happen automatically. As they are now, they sound awful. Nearly no bass, they’re very tinny. The transparency mode is garbage too, especially compared to my AirPods Pro earbuds. I really hope they update soon so I can hear how they’re supposed to be now. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the video, Brandon!
Theyre prolly fake 💀
I hope the Airpods Max V2, is cheaper to be more affordable and also lighter. I bought a pair but had to return them as they were just too heavy for me to wear for any length of time. I did love the sound quality and noise cancelling though.
Please address the issue where you can’t answer calls with AirPods Pro 2 in connection with an iPhone XS. It’s a widespread issue apple and after several updates, Apple still didn’t fix it.
I wonder? Should i pull the trigger? Rumors are the second gen are coming this year.
You right I hate my hard case takes too long to unzip lol
I love mine, one of the biggest complaint I have is the volume being low. The case has never been an issue for me and I travel often.
Hi I use Glasses Every Single Day, Can Someone Tells Me If They Are Comfortable With Glasses???
Depends on your glasses but not really. Hard to get a tight seal around the ear and the thicker your frames are the worse it is. Best to try them out at an Apple Store if possible.
I would say not really. But depends on the thickness of the temples. I have a traditional pair and another pair with sleek thin metallic temples and those are the kind of glasses i think work best with headphones.
I wear them with my sunglasses no problem!
I ordered my pair on day one and they still look like new. All the complaints were never a problem for mine. I really like them.
Are these good at all for mixing music? My buddy has a new pair he’ll sell me for 250 but I’m hesitant because they’ve been out for 4 years they’ll make a new pair with the M2 chip in them and I’d rather just wait a few months and pay $450 for the newest ones. I am thinking of getting into mixing music again now that I have time and a new focusrite interface. I may honestly wait til I build up my guitar collection again
1. No, they're not at all for mixing music. they can be good for quick and convenient connection on the go, but they're made to sound pleasing to general listeners, which includes boosted basses and highs. Music mixing should only be done with flat, balanced headphones that go for much cheaper than the Max's. You should also never mix audio with Bluetooth wireless connectivity because of the lag.
2. The M2 chip doesn't go in their headphones, the H chips do.
3. They're $550 new at retail, not $450.
No lol. I guess they’re no worse than any wireless cans if you want to do a test for how the mix sounds across different devices, but actually doing the raw mix on ANY wireless audio device is such a joke that you should feel embarrassed for asking about it. It’s like asking if you can put diesel in an LPG car to make it sound louder.
Had them 2years and absolutely love them. Sometimes if I wear them for a long time my ears do sweat but no real moisture. Replsaced the Cups at Christmas because they were getting a bit nasty. Both issues are minor things.
the brawl case 😂 oh my God
Word lmao!
I think the reasons for not getting one are quite clear
- cold aluminium cups + humid warm ear canal = condensation issues that will eventually kill all APMs. Most people I know who own one have had theirs die after 2 years. Planned obsolescence?
- connector issues on right ear cup
- fragile & flexed mesh band after long term use, no longer supports weight after it is loose = too heavy
- ear cups that knock each other when you wear them around your neck
- design that doesn’t let you fold the cups both ways, you can’t rest them on your collarbone without rotating them the wrong way
- if you forget the bra case = constantly draining & recharging, = poor long term battery health
- lightning connector
- sound leaks a lot
- silicone rubber eventually becomes stained and shiny/sticky
I’ve had mine since September 2022. Have never had any issues with them other than ear fatigue. And that’s because I wear glasses.
I thought Apple rolled out an update that made the APMs go into low power mode (the same one the bracase gives) if unused for a period of time outside the case
@@yaba7688dont listen to him, his a hater, cant you see his a sony fan boy. I leave my airpods outside the cover and they last 2-3 days
For some reason my APMs can’t respond to Siri, only Hey Siri. Does anyone know how to enable this?

headphones really shouldn't go out of date.. meaning that while updates and added features are nice, they should at the very least be operable as headphones as long as they work.. I hope that's the case with these.
Well the Sony wh 1000xm5 is my go too at the moment

Idk about you but I absolutely HATE it when my AirPods switch to my phone when I’m on my computer just because I got a notification from the weather app 💀
I’m excited for a new version of these to be released so I can get a used pair for a great price 😅
Beats Pro have been the best for traveling hands down. Easy fold bam in your bag with the case and you’re off. Beats is also an Apple owned company.
Absolutely agree! I have two of them because I'm a little obsessed. lol
Day one AirPods Max user here, not regretting it at all! They are still as you say absolutely perfect, I just wish I didn't take them in white since the ear cups can look dirty after a while. But thankfully you can just pop them out and clean them easily. I am still a fan
I tried the AirPods Max at a store, but sadly my head is too small for it. Even in the smallest size. If Apple will come with a smaller size AirPods Max, I will definitely buy them, because the sound quality is indeed incredible🎧
I think the airpods max is one of the best products ive bought, no regretrs after 3 years, the sound quality is just so good, the hardware quality is superior , I cant live without them, the only thing I regret is getting the silver one because it stains a little but not too bad
Hoping for the 2nd gen to be announced in a week or so…
Hard to find used ones that aren’t fake. Careful. I love my AirPods Max. I mostly use them while traveling.
They are my favorite headphones. Or I should say they were my favorite. I bought the silver ones with white mesh because I wanted to match my M2 iPad Pro. Unfortunately, the ear cuffs get reslly dirty. I tried everything to clean them up and that's how, I think, they got messed up. They did used to get the condensation. I was about to throw the ear cuffs in the washer! 😂 Anyways, they stopped working, the won't even charge anymore. I got them brand new f when Best Buy ran a sale for $100.00 off. Now, they're dead in a drawer. I used them for about one year.
How do you clean your AirPods Max? Or have you ever attempted to clean them?
You got lucky. We have bought 3. 2 needed repair in the first year, and slowly degraded (connection issues and failures). I bought the 3rd after the first pair died after the 2 year AppleCare expired, because I need them to travel and do con-calls. I bought the 3rd to get Apple care again. I hope this pair lasts longer.
I do like mine and I think they are quality headphones. However I still don't think they justify their pricetag.
My guilty pleasure owning APM. Other than the excellent sound quality and overall functionality, the tight OS integration with iOS, MacOS, TVOS, everything in the ecosystem is seamless. Easily switches devices w/o a hiccup, hesitation or media stall. It just works so well. The sleep mode is amazing lasting for weeks never losing the charge.
Yeah, would buy them again. Thanks Brandon.
I read a ton of reviews and everyone says they don’t last more than a year. They all say the batteries fail in a year. AppleCare is a must
most of the time i ear classical music with Airpods Max...
so i think that noise canceling is not so strong...
some issues battery life...
but in general for me they are used essencially for travel...so i think they are pretty good
Yeah, a lot of these guys just blare trash pop and hip hop music. You don’t even need ANC for that to block out noise.
@@sigiligus it´s help a little bit..but no so strong...
i purchased the air pods max used because of this video . ive had the Sony XM4 , Sony XM5 , bose QC 2 , bose 700 , Bose QC 45 , Bose QC ultra and they all sound very good to me. even the latest Beats much improved but in my opinion the sound quality was better on the Air pods max . not the most comfortable for long listening but not horrible , and being an apple eco system guy i made the switch back to max ! The build quality and look is also a lot more premium to me as well .
They are not nearly as good as you make them out to be. Let's just start with the fact that they are $500 and can't even do high fi sound or lossless. The fact that they are 4 years old and the still charge 500 is fucking stupid. No they Are not the best airplane headphones. The Sony and the Bose work better. Oh and they do high res and are not 4 years old. smh. This is a puff piece at best.
I had Sony and Bose to compare to on the plane, APM are noticeably better. I made a video about these 3 headphones.
Also, you can get them for 300-400 used if you don’t want to spend the 500. Though I think they’re well worth the price given how much I use them.
In wired mode, theyre good up to 24 48. They are TECHNICALLY not lossless, but the gap in quality between bluetooth and wired is a lot more substantial than between 48kHz and 96Khz or 192kHz which the APM just cant do.
4:28 I don’t think that actually works on APM, just pros 2
That’s what I thought. Unless we’re missing a setting somewhere… 🤔
@@tobybartlettSince iOS17, it works with the AirPods 3, AirPods Max and the AirPods Pro 1/2 Gen.
@@joerobinnettebiden4723 Weird. I have iOS 17.4.1 and AirPods Max won’t respond to “Siri” just “Hey Siri”.
@@joerobinnettebiden4723 It doesn’t for me. When I connected them to my phone for the first time after updating to iOS 17, there was a notification that said “Say ‘Hey Siri’ when using AirPods Max” or something like that. It’s only for the pros 2 with the H2 chip
I'm an Android user so i cant speak for the Apple experience. But i can say that the Airpods Max are the best headphones, if you have an iPhone
It's at par with offerings like the Sony 1000XM5s or the premium ones from Bose
But Sony and Bose are built with general usage consumption in mind (meaning if somebody uses a Sony or a Bose headphone on Android or IOS, they'll have a similar usage experience on both)
Airpods Max can be used to its full potential if you're using an iPhone (you can use it on Android too since at the end of the day, its a bluetooth device but it compromises on features that make Airpods Max unique just because it was not made for Android usage in the first place)
These are my two cents on the Airpods Max, I hope this makes sense
Mostly agree with all you had to say. Would still like an off switch. I realize these are designed to mimic the smaller AirPods, including the case, I would prefer an off switch on these. Also would like to see water resistance. And while phone use is ok, I would like to see better mic quality. Finally $400 is enough for quality blue tooth headphones.
Listening to this with my AirPods Max 😂, can't wait for them to release gen 2!
my AirPods isn't working And not pairing with devices .. it worked for 1 year only
I bought my AirPods Max last year, and I loved them from the very first day I used them; they blew my mind. However, they started updating their firmware automatically, which I really hate. Now, the noise cancellation doesn't seem as strong or amazing as it was on the first day. When I first got them, the AirPods Max would block every, and I mean EVERY other noise. But nowadays, I still hear noises going on around me, like when I'm in my classroom and have ANC on, but I still hear other students talking(unless I play music) Is it just me whose facing this? am i just overreacting? because im pretty sure Noise cancellation is suppose to block all other sounds, especially conversations near you, but for some reason i can hear almost every word of a conversation near me
And for some reason i dont see the mute call option on my airpods max settings😳i never even knew this feature existed until i watched this video
MY REVIEW:
Quality: These are the best headphones ever. The sound is amazing, and the music quality is top-notch. I enjoy listening to everything on these babies. I feel sad for people who can't afford them or haven't had the chance to try them. I definitely feel sorry for those who might waste money on fake ones or other headphones like Bose or Sony.
Battery Life: They can last for days. I don't use them 24/7, but I do use them for a couple of hours each day, and they can last up to 3 days until I need to charge them again.
Durability: When I was about to purchase them, I spent a lot of time watching reviews on how long they last and if they damage easily. I came to the conclusion of buying a hard case, transparent covers for the earcups, and a silicone cover for the headband just in case. I regret buying the hard case because I definitely do not use it. It's just so bulky and big, a lot to carry. I prefer the bra cover; it's so simple and fits well in my bag.
Workout: I have been very afraid to work out with them. I fear that sweat might damage them, especially since they are not IP rated. I hear a lot of people saying they work out with theirs, but I'm not taking the risk. 😂😭 I spent too much to risk it. Even when I'm feeling hot or in a place with a high temperature, I would take them off. Sometimes I actually feel like they make me feel hot.
Phone calls & Video calls: They sound very good. The person on the other end can hear me clearly without any complaints.
Traveling: I haven't yet tried them on a plane, but on public transport such as a bus, they are amazing. So, no doubt, they will be the same on a plane.
Noise cancellation & Transparency: When I first got them, they were amazing. The ANC blew my mind. I had never tried NC before, and wearing the APM was my first time experiencing ANC. Oh boy, I did not believe my ears. The transparency is also top-notch. But recently, after various firmware updates, the ANC has degraded. It's just not as strong as it was on the first day. Nowadays, I can turn on ANC in my classroom, and I would still get to hear my classmates talking out loud (only when I turn on music is when I won't hear them). Literally, a person may sit next to me and talk to me, and I would have ANC on, but I can still hear them. I don't know if it's just me overreacting; is anybody else facing this issue? I really can't say they're damaged because once I play music, then I won't hear anything else. But if I don't play music and have ANC on, I can still hear noise.
Comfortability: They are very comfortable. I even fall asleep with them on. I have never tried the high-end headphones from Beats, Sony, or Bose, but these APMs are so comfortable. THEY ARE NOT HEAVY, trust me. People would complain they are heavy, and yes, they do weigh a lot when you hold them in your arms. But once they're on your head, you'll forget if they're even heavy (I believe this is thanks to the headband). I wear mine for about 5 hours, I think, then my ears feel too hot, and I have to take them off for some air.
Price: Are they worth it? Absolutely. Best headphone investment I ever made. I think I'm good for life. $549 was a lot, but I don't regret a penny.
I say save your money. Mine have had a serious problem since the day I got them. I've tried every fix suggested online. I've gone through all the procedures with Apple. I've taken it to the Genius Bar and reproduced the problem for them. I've had them sent off to the repair centre but they couldn't do anything. I've even had them replaced with a new set, but the problem persists. A senior advisor told me that this is a known problem that Apple has no fix for. I was told to drop them off at an Apple Store for a refund, but they refused to accept them, so now I'm left with an expensive paperweight.
what was the problem though
Didn’t even say what the problem was
Talking about the condensation; It happens and will happen. I think the important point is to avoid the moisture going inside the pinholes. The drivers etc. should be sealed. Humidity with intouch the connectors can cause the famous condensation death in 2 Weeks to 2 years. Solution? Duct Tape lmfao.
Brandon you’re crazy if you think this is a good travel case lol belkin hard case is the best for travel.
The Reddit sub was absolutely bleeding with destroyed or stretched or loose headband mesh last few times I checked. Skipped AirPods Max for this reason given the price.
I know exactly what you mean bc i check out the subreddit before i decided on my purchase but this is like the opposite of survivorship bias. No one goes on reddit to say their product worked exactly as advertised. They go on to say it failed and how. Thats useful bc it gives you insight on known problems and how to avoid them, but its not otherwise a massive red flag. My pair is in great condition after 2 years, thanks in part to precautions from this insight
going to wait for Apple to release the H2 version with a USB-C charging port. They're going to bring out some new colors and call them revolutionary.
I’m sure they’re not bad, but they are not worth $900 (Australian dollars in this post). When Bose’s last gen QC45’s still have better ANC, are more portable, and more lightweight. And cost $390 these days. AirPods Max are still being sold at full price.
