Yeah, they kind of invented the '80s way before anyone was ready... I say anyone but they did have a small fanatical cult following (including members of an equally brilliant band called Cardiacs)
I’ve loved and played a few crowded house songs for 30 yrs too! I vaguely remember seeing/hearing split enz as a toddler, and then seeing them mentioned in a podcast about Jack White, but never knew the connections until now. Again- amazing artists. Thank-you. ❤ 🎶
I'm totally amazed that I've never heard this! It's amazing! I've been absorbing all the Split Enz I could since I've been 20! I'm 59 now! How did this mad Beetlejuice/marriage video evade me? The Finns just brilliant!
The first song I ever heard from The Enz.. On Radio 1 Alan Fluff Freeman’s show in 1976.. First saw them featured on Thames Television’s Today programme a week before when they were doing their first UK tour.
It's a shame UA-cam compresses the video quality as this was pristine tube camera video when it came out. It looks "live". Plus it's a great song which doesn't hurt at all.
Nawty but noice Love Kath & KIMMEE HILARIOUS GOD BRATS 🙇 BOW 🙇 🌌 IT'S GOD LOVE ACTUALLY What a bunch of God Dorks. God Love 'em Hey Global Madonna Dad's at it ... AGAIN
This comment is so out of the ordinary I had to kind of agree. For the longest time they are the Harlequins. As time progresses they erode, but in this time they are almost dreamlike, capable of bending reality itself, beautiful and alien and not human in any way. Though they might be "real people" in one reality, they are also the Harlequins, reality bending beings from a higher dimension capable of taking on any form. They shift and change the "members" of their group, but this time is the most powerful and most mythological like something out of early Tolkien. Dreamlike and profound.
You’re very wrong about that. All of their bad material came out when they first hit it big with True Colours. Out of curiosity I watched their video for Dirty Creature. The song is crap.
They were so far ahead of their time. Pure art at its finest.
I love the whole Split Enz career and this stage is so cool and special. Just love this song.
Now This is a Band,That I Loved,ever since,MtV,in 81!And These Guys Deserve RESPECT!😊Dont Rodney Dangerfield,These Guys!Ever!😊❤
A group that was way ahead of their time. Absolutely love Split Enz and Phil Judd

@@jeffsimon9594yes, and Jack white of white stripes followed.
Their best song ever, allready more than 40 years is this song in my brains, thanks Split Enz.
Brilliantly bonkers band, no one can replicate this, so totally unique.
Phil Judd is a genius 👏 👌
He sure is he's good at counting the BEAT🎸👍
Agreed mate, what a writer!
Yes matt kam
Big fan of their music.. innovative and clever songs.

Thank god for Split Enz. They make me laugh, they make me cry, they make me feel better...still. Love them always.
The first song I ever heard from
The Enz..
On Radio 1 Alan Fluff Freeman’s show in 1976..
First saw them featured on Thames Television’s Today programme a week before when they were doing their first UK tour.
Would be amazing if someone (preferably Thames/Fremantle) pulled it out and stuck it up.
First band I ever saw live, what a start to my life as a music lover. Been in love with them ever since
Mr chunn is a brilliant bass player!
he plays some tight fills like John Entwistle sometimes
Both Mike and Nigel Griggs were great for different reasons.
He really is, his bass line always stands out to me 🖤🤍
So absolutely gorgeous, brilliant and awesome!! I love and adore them. They're too amazing by far!
Notwithstanding the commercial success that Neil brought to the band, it was Phill that was the Enz’ soul.
Thank God the storm has passed over.
Thanks to bbc 6 Music for playing Split Enz and getting me to find you. Wonderful
Ladies and gentlemen I give you Phil Judd before the swingers
Reminds me a bit of early Genesis but with a better melody line and some Roxy Music mixed in.
So ahead of the World in every way
Split Enz were always mind expanding, if you dont like it, go back to the vanilla of 2024
every video is a wonderful fever dream!!
Have no idea why they have so few followers on YT. Fantastic artists ❤
Badass
Love Slit Enz always
Way ahead of their time, so unique 🎸🎹🥁💙🙏🏻 this song always makes my heart happy, reminds me so much of my teenage years ❤️
Wow. Bloody neat aye!
Same thing with second thoughts too.
This is a great song. But, did those two guys loose a bet or something? I think we all know who I'm talking about.
They are sigmas, betas don't understand it

WHOOSH
Noel always looked a bit like an afterthought
And Tim simply doesn’t get to sing in this song
GENIUS 7 ✨

This song and Lovey Dovey
Lov this amazing song
Note the keyboard instrument, a Mellotron..
Too many geniuses in one band,, someone had to go. I preferred the Enz with Judd on board.
@@TheOstracizedElder Mental Notes....50 years ahead of its time.

this set reminds me of Pixies - Here comes your Man
Amazing Band...but now almost 50 years after, I think that they never thought that, to have hair is a privilege and not a right.
Split
UA-cam's music reproduction really doesn't do this justice.
Love Split Enz, justice is your memory, you are beautiful
Fuckin weirdo geniuses.
No gender specials in those days. Just good old-fashioned non-conformity.
Better times.. it is undeniable
Yep, no stupid pronouns or gender fluidity nonsense, just expressing yourself in your sexed body.
Nah its there worst song
you misspelt best

My favorite band & everyone i know knows why
