Tiki 2006 retirement: "The giants will never win a superbowl w/o me. Eli's leadership is a joke"
2007: Giant superbowl champions
2011: Giant superbowl champions
Eli Manning: "Im glad to see Tiki is making a smooth transition to televsion"
And consider the fact that he KILLED the SB Bound Giants 2004-2006.
2004: Basically exterminated whatever success they had with Warner and the (Then) 5-1 Giants by Minimizing the passing attack. ended season with a nonfunctional Eli and a 6-10 record.
2005: Kept the Giants from Passing THE football, so the Jake Delhomme Panthers took note, 23-0
2006: Clashed with Coughlin, prevented the team from PASSING THE FOOTBALL, takes a 6-2 team to 8-8. Giants lose to the "left for dead" JEFF GARCIA LEAD EAGLES IN PHILLY because (brace yourself) manning WAS RESTRICTED FROM PASSING THE FOOTBALL. Eagles advance 23-20
2007: Manning finally isn't restricted. Defeats the unbeatable patriots 17-14 in super bowl
Joseph Armstrong how's it his fault he was force feed? Eli sucks btw
He restricted the Giants from passing the ball against the Eagles by rushing for 137 yards on 26 carries. LOL!! Your whole post bears no logic what so ever.
that's right he did say that, what a jok
It shocked me when he said it. Next season ...Bam Super bowl!
It's too bad his exit game tarnished people's memory of him. He publicly bashed Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning even though he had his most productive years playing with them. Then they won the SB the year after he retired. Poetic Justice
Stupid thing was what he said about TC .....99% of Giants fans were saying whenever they got a chance ....
@@toddtaylor6506 Not exactly, maybe on Eli but there were somewhat more defense for Coughlin during the time.
Tom Coughlin is a terrible coach and no one on the Giants liked him. Not even Strahan. Tiki was just the only one to speak up.
@@khanman888 terrible coach with 2 rings lol
His last 5 seasons were absolutely astounding he had over 2000 yards from scrimmage in all 5 of those seasons...that’s HOF in of itself
That's wrong only in his last 3 seasons did he have 2000+ scrimmage yards
@@rezabeast1722 yeah I guess he had 1940 yards in ‘02 and nearly 1700 in ‘03 but those are still ridiculous numbers then too have another 3 2,000 yard seasons after that Tiki a HOFer
I Remember When He Was Fumbling Like Hell, Then The Next Year He Was Holding The Ball High As Hell Lol
yesss lol me too! Mr. Fumble
Lmfao yea
SayySooFlyy As a Giants fan I both love and loathe Tiki Barber.
Tom coughlin showed him how to hold the ball but he didn't like coughlin telling him what to do...
LMAO he fumbled like hell in his career.
10,000 rushing yards & 6,000 reception yards in his pro career with the New York Football Giants
How’s he not in the Hall of Fame?!!
Being an A'hole should not exclude a person from the hall of fame. I'm sure the place is loaded with them.
Harry Engel he’s 15th all time In Yds from scrimmage
Harry Engel that fact alone makes him belong
HOF is for the people who have accomplished most like the people that you see in the record books
Just one more year...
@Fries Tomlinson, Faulk, & Martin were the only RB’s from that era that outproduced Tiki. Just those 3 guys. Frank Gore’s 1st 1k year came the year Tiki retired & Adrian Peterson wasn’t drafted until after he was gone. As far as on field production went for RB’s in that era Tiki was on the Mount Rushmore along with those other 3 legends.
If Tiki never retired after the 06 season, he'd be a HOF no doubt.
it's one of those cases where everyone is OK with not having him in the hall.
The Giants were the first team I watched when i first started watching in '04 due to the fans in my household and Tiki Barber is the reason why I played running back and football in general.
why would u leave us, u missed out on 2 superbowls
shortstackJMD96 amen Dallas fan lol
Ronde should go in first tho
Ronde will probably be in the HOF eventually. Tiki has been retired longer and will never be in the Hall.
He will.
ronde is better
Nah
No way tiki is underrated and a awesome all around back who had some elite seasons. Ronde was an average corner
It's a crime that's he's still not in the HOF yo which reporters wanna run my fade
Odell Beckham Jr. #Odeezy #13Hunnit #BreakinRecords The kicking net
L. Catch the ball you BUST.
McChicken God the kicking net and him married
Barber was the real deal. It took him a while to get going, but once he did, he played like a Hall of Famer. His last three years, he cured the fumble thing and carried that team. Borderline Hall of Famer, and it's a shame it took him a while to develop. As a Giants fan, I loved the thrills he gave me, and I still do. He was such an exciting runner. I don't blame him for retiring, nor do I think the Giants necessarily played any better because he was gone. Maybe they would have won 2 out of the next three championships if he had stuck around. Maybe not. It's obviously unanswerable speculation, But he was in his prime and had the ability to dominate any game.
That all said, He stupidly ran his mouth a few times, and he has made some poor decisions since retiring. But that doesn't diminish his on-field greatness.
True.
Bob Kuechenberg ran his mouth and had some hypocritical words post playing. Probably why he isn't in Canton
imo the greatest rb of ALL TIME after the age of 27.. His numbers back it up.. you could make a case for sanders but all around it isn't close... sanders brown and payton are in the mix but ALL the best all time that are ever talked about dont come close to tiki after 27.. or even including 27... when most greats start slowing down he just began.. had he fixed his fumble issues earlier who knows what would have been.
He was pretty good, but I wouldn't say he was great. He was an asshole, too. Right when he retired, all he did was talk shit about the Giants. Fortunately, they won the Super Bowl the next year without him, giving Strahan his well-deserved ring.
He had become great in that last year. The guy was unstoppable. Such a shame.
I'm happy he didn't get a ring in 07 or '11
personality aside he had a unique career.. an opposite.. far mor productive in the second half. who know what would have happened had he fixed his fumble issues earlier.
But from age 27 on he is probably the greatest rb of all time.. on top of being one of amd sometimes maybe the best in those last 5 yrs.. other than one of those yrs he had 2000 plus total yards.. one was 15 yds short and one was 1700 total yards.
In my boredom I compared him to all the all time greats and his numbers are insane compared to the greats... you could make arguments for various reasons for Barry and his pure running numbers.. payton because he played longer and brown.. but all around numbers it isn't close.
And every other all time great that will pop in your head I can assure you their numbers after 27 and especially in their 30s were no where close to tiki or their own numbers 27 and before
Tiki Barber ran for almost 2,000 yards at the age of 31. THAT IS INSANE. Running backs prime is usually from ages 23-27 after that they are either backing up another RB or out of the league. THIS MAN WAS GETTING BETTER AS HE WAS GETTING OLDER. VERY UNDERRATED.
Aside from the fumbles, he was also a very very consistent player who was always on the field, very durable, very versatile. He played very well in all his playoff games, made big plays in almost all of them.
I read Tiki and Rondes kids books when I was younger they where real good books
I love Tiki. He's and Ronde were born 5 weeks earlier and were both great players. Awesome story.
What????
Imagine if Tiki stayed and didn't do what he did and went on to win two super bowls then yes he would most certainly be a hall of famer in my eyes.
damn don't do my boi sean taylor like that 2:57
RG3 #SMOKINGTHAT3#10hunnit#DAWGPOUND #AFCnorthbest can't wait to see how RG3 plays in the playoffs... Oh wait...
Andrew Smith i did play in the playoff before but i leave the game in the 1 half vs the seacocks we was kicking there ass
armando alducin
RG3 #SMOKINGTHAT3#10hunnit#DAWGPOUND #AFCnorthbest
Sean taylor was overrated
Tiki was a HOF caliber RB who was also a HOF DUSH BAG! And he was exact opposite of Terrell Davis who was HOF on and off the field🤙🏾
Tiki had over 17359 Total yards in just 10 seasons. Just think about that, he averaged 1735 yards for his team per year. He wasnt getting full carries for the first 4-5 years of his career. he had 55 Rushing TD's and 12 Rec TD's. He also had only 19 Fumbles lost. He should be in the HOF.
No one ever points that out... He's 2nd all time in NFL history in all purpose yards per season for a career behind Barry Sanders...how the hell isn't he in the Hall????
19 fumbles in 10 years is a ton
@@theangrypelican5270 No it isnt.
@@theangrypelican5270bro what, no it isn’t, infact that’s very little. Bruh Walter Payton had 86 fumbles in 13 years.
@@theangrypelican5270most were in his first 5 yrs.. his last five yrs were great.. and definitely all time great .. best rb all time from age 27 on... very few can come close age 27 on
Strung together three of the best seasons a running back could ever have
I'm a Giants fan .. he's one of my all time favorite Giants players .... best overall offensive Giants player ever ..... his rushing yardage total is nearly double of that of the guy in 2nd place ..... he'd have ended his career as team leader in receptions as well had he played 3-5 more years .... and people think TC's high and tight mantra was the only thing that stopped the fumbles ... reality is he started working on his upper body strength more .....
The critics are crazy as hell the numbers speak for themselves he deserves to be in the hall of fame hes one of the great running backs of all times Especially for the giants.
Who saw Sean Taylor and thought, "Someone else who should be in the Hall of Fame"
While it was no fault of his own, his career was too short.
Overated, wasn't that good of a player. It seems like people think he is the GOAT of safeties just cuz he died early (aka dumb redskins fans ovrhyping players)
Alexander Blackman Why do you think he was overrated?
Datboi 4451 Sean Taylor was on his way to being a really good safety if he hadn’t tragically died.
@@Talkingbaseball He was already a really good safety before he was murdered.
When it comes to being in the Hall of Fame your of field antics should not dictate what you’ve done on the field for 10 years. Tiki Barber in his tenure with the Giants was our whole offensive attack period. Teams knew Tiki was going to get the ball whether we were running or passing and they still couldn’t stop him. I remember when they used to say that he wasn’t big enough and strong enough to carry a workload of being the feature back and he proved all his critics wrong. All I keep seeing is that he quit on the team and people lost respect for him and etc. that’s why he shouldn’t be in the HOF....bump all that Tiki has earned my respect as a player and as a player he deserves to be in the HOF period
Tiki could have had a ring but that 2000s Ravens D was just too much for anybody
Lord Maul how about the fact he would have had a ring if he played just two more years lol
Tiki played with a broken arm and cast during that super bowl.
The game against kansas city and redskins were insane that run was amazing vs the chiefs
i was at that game.. it was a great battle by both running backs
Tiki Barber easily is a hall of famer
Tiki is one of my favorite ever
Respect is a hell of an accomplishment
Tiki Barber belongs in the Hall of Fame!
I'm so happy he's on this list
I could name at least 10 running backs more deserving than Tiki.
Brian Sager Go ahead . Name them , I'm waiting 🙄
YeahYeah Corey Dillon, Jamal Lewis, Edgerrin James, Fred Taylor, Ricky Watters, Clinton Portis, Shaun Alexander, Roger Craig, Warrick Dunn, Ottis Anderson. Satisfied?
Brian Sager Now that you mention those names I get where your coming from . You right 💯 but I still think he deserves to be in it .
YeahYeah I liked Tiki a lot, but he was okay for most of his career, then really great for 3 seasons, then he retired. I wish he woulda played longer.
Corey Dillion, Fred Taylor and Ricky Waters, and Roger Craig you can arguments. The rest not so much. ESPECIALLY not Shaun Alexander.
Tiki was a great running back he gets overlooked to often. Hall of fame yes for me
Put him in already. My God!
A Hall of Fame talent and player absolutely
Ronde Barber was a better Football player
In his 16 year career with the Buccaneers 🏴☠️
He intercepted 47 passes and accumulated 28 sacks
He actually won a ring in 2003
Even as a Giants fan, i COMPLETELY agree that Tiki needs to be in the Hall of Fame
Tiki is 15th all time in yards from scrimmage. All players in the Top 19 are in the hall or will be in the hall. YES he absolutely is a hall of famer. Now that we see Running back breaking down so early in their careers Tiki only looks better as time goes on. Tiki had a three year stretch where he was the most productive offensive player in the NFL. For NFL standards that is very good. time to put him in.
Does anyone know where I can find Bob Papa commentating Giants games after the fact, literally gives me goosebumps?
Isnt he like top ten all time all- purpose yards? Honestly this guy should be in the hall of fame.
Bro like Tiki has power going thru the line then just speeds up in a matter of a second so yeah he’s a hall of famer in my books
Ronde congratulations NFL hall of Fame!!
Y’all should do the entire list of hall of fame players fr the 1st class to the last class to enter
The Barber Twins better go in! Together!!! I Know Tiki retired a little early, but he was an absolute beast in NY! He was the offense if you ask me. He was always amongst the top with other backs in the league around that time. Let him in
He might deserve to be in the HOF but not more than Terrel Davis
He is number 15 all time in yards from scrimmage
in 100 years of football only 14 guys have produced more than him including both RBs and WRs
Saquon Berkeley reminds me of Tiki Barber both of them are the two best running backs I got both Barber and Barkley running back jerseys
I still love ya bru!!!Say something crazy again...giants need the motivation
id love to hear his speech
The reason I looked this vid up is because I LOVE the book
I'm a skins fan (wft) I always thought tiki was nice. But what about some hof love for my guy Cory Dillon? 💪
loved him on NFL street
Ronde is now in the NFL Hall of Fame!
It's not about liking him. It's about his production. He should be there. Who cares if you don't like him. That's ridiculous. He should be in the hall of fame.
The last run they show. Vs. Kansas City. I was there, he owned that whole stadium, nevermind just the game. The whole place "TI-KI...BAR-BER!!! Just like they showed earlier at another game. You can dislike the man but the player belongs in any place NFL football is celebrated. How many backs have 200+ yard games??? He has had a few. HOF.
Luke Pettigout! man do I miss that guy especially with Ereck "the revolving door" Flowers playing left tackle
You know it's bad when even the false start penalty machine was more preferable than Flowers.
He needs a gold jacket. He’s 15th all time in scrimmage yards, 12th for Rb’s. He’s got more career yards than Randy Moss, Jim Brown, Tony Gonzalez, Eric Dickerson, Isaac Bruce, O.J. Simpson, Marvin Harrison, & Edgerrin James. He out gained all those guys, let that sink in.
Tiki was a beast.
Who ever doesn’t like the barbers need to watch the nfl way more even the high lights
Barkley is going to smash all of his records
Ronde barber should be here over his brother by a million percent
I agree
Tiki the best
As an Eagles fan I should hate Tiki.. but he’s probably the single smartest nfl player ever.. I listen to Tiki and Tierny when I can and his intelligence is just head and shoulders above any other sportscaster in the world...
nobody likes tiki barber? im a die hard giants fan and to any other giants fan how can you not appreciate all he did for us?
Stephen Jackson gets no love
Tiki barber has so much beef lol
I love tiki even with shot at Eli wish he would of played one more year he would of won a ship
Heres my thing: if freaking Terrell Davis is a hall of famer, Tiki Barber and Ricky Watters are no doubt hall of famers. It’s a crime Tiki and Ricky aren’t in the hall as of the time of this comment
Shame his exit overshadowed just how great of a talent he was. He had over 1600 rushing yards and a 5.1 ypc in his retirement year, let that sink in. That’s all pro numbers at 31.
Caesey Niestat Brought Me Here
I am so glad that Tiki Barber never won a Super Bowl in his NFL career
@Harry Engel Because he threw his own team under the bus
@Harry Engel I though that most of you Giants fans hate Tiki Barber now!
@Harry Engel Tiki Barber was a very good player and an underrated player but he was a selfish player in the NFL
If he'd played one or two more yrs, he might of gotten in. 3 yrs of dominance isn't enough
Jamal Lewis and Corey Dillon should be 1 and 2. Both rushed for over 10, 000 yards, have over 4.0 ypc average, both were pro bowlers and each won a super bowl ring. Jamal ran for 2,066 (more than Terrell and Barry) in 1 season and won OPOY.
When Sean Taylor couldn't tackle tiki proves he is a good back
He could do everything
Think about if Tiki didn't retire we would've had a trio of Barber, Jacobs and Bradshaw
If he would've stayed for 1 more season he would've won a chip 💯🤯
Had he stayed for one more year, had the season like he did in 2006 and won a ring, he would have. In the end he made his choice and got what he deserved.
Man he had the great jeremiah trotter panicking
Ronde and Mike alstott number 1 and 2
Tiki was a great running back and it doesn’t matter if he was a jack ass he still played like a hall of fame player
Very well Hall of Fame well
In the top 15 for most yards from scrimmage for a career. Only players in that category who NOT in the hall are still playing.
who else read a book based on tiki and rhonde barber
Tiki's departure was a disgrace in every way. He embarrassed himself, and he made it impossible for the fans to ever look at him favorably. He was a great player, but completely destroyed his chances for anyone to ever advocate for his induction to the hall. As a Giants' fan it actually hurts to admit that, because he was the central piece that made the team competitive during his day.
This shit is bias because Hall Of Fame means what you did "on the field" not off Yall actin like he killed someone
Along with Eric Metcalf he should go into the Hall of Fame one day put the tape on it never lies
I feel as if tiki deserves it . As a redskins fan, he deserves every bit of being in the hall of fame . Easily be the best RB in today's NFL
Tiki deserves to be in the HOF
Fun fact Tiki Barber and Ronde Barber played for the eagles as a kid
3:39 she has spoken
Otis Taylor!!!
Tiki had a three good seasons at the end of his career when he stopped putting the ball on the ground where he gained over 1500, 1800, and 1600 yards. Before that, he barly went over 1100 and scored 4-8 TD a season.
A other have said, we could name 10 HBs alone who are better than Barber, let alone putting him at #3 of all players? Get out of here.
I Agree
So the argument they seem to be making is that he was a pretty good player, but because he played for the Giants that should somehow magically elevate him to the Hall of Fame?
Mmm no. WTF are you talking about?
“Pound for pound best runningback the giants have ever had” ahhhh this is before saquon Barkley had emerged
All the numbers to make the hall....
This man's vision was crazy. I think of what he did he should be in the HOF. Personal opinion

Saquon Barkley: I’m about to end this whole mans career
That's if Barkely ever manages to play a full season again.
