First quarter with the Redskins driving, Ladell Betts isstrped of the ball by Brandon Short, recovered by Fred Robbins and returned for 67 yards. That set up a Jay Feely 34 yard field goal and an early 3-0 lead. Second quarter trailing 7-3, Tiki Barber runs in from 15 yards out for the touchdown, 10-7 Giants. Later in the second, Barber burst through the line for a 55 yard touchdown run and a 17-7 lead. Thrird quarter, Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell is intercepted by Jason Bell. Wasn't this Tiki Barber's final regular season game of his career? I remember he took this game over. Over 200 yards rushing; incredible performance.

      Yep.
OTOH: 1997-2006 - 4 Playoff appearances, 2-4 record, zero Super Bowl wins. In the subsequent equivalent period, 2007-2016, they had 6 playoff appearances, 8-4 record and two Super Bowl wins. I never believed in the concept of a clubhouse cancer until Tiki Barbar announced his retirement halfway through this season, and the team went into a 2-7 tailspin as their biggest offensive star tried to make the narrative all about himself. This was the guy who bashed teammates in their contract negotiations, breaking an unwritten rule of conduct among professional athletes; who repeatedly bashed his coach, Tom Coughlin in the press, despite the clear improvement in his play and numbers when Coughlin took over; and despite his utter failure to lead the offense to any scores or enough first downs in the fourth quarter, publicly criticized the special teams play in their post-season collapse against San Francisco. The guy was a talented player, but a bad apple the Giants were demonstrably better off without.

As great as Tiki was vs Washington in 2005, he was even better on this night

I remember going out and buying a Tiki Barber the day after this amazing game.
